Discover year-round escapism on northern Lake Como, with this spacious 3-4 bedroom villa with a pool!

Perched on the quiet scenic hillside of Germasino, this modern 3-storey villa provides carefree escapism for family and friends.

Inside, a lovely light and spacious ground floor living room with an L-shaped sofa, ambient fireplace and flat screen TV is accompanied by a stylish dining space for 8. An accompanying separate lake view Kitchen can also be found on this floor and is equipped with a gas cooker hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer and drip coffee machine.

Leading outside from the Living room, a covered alfresco terrace partially open on one side and closed with a picture window on the other, provides a sheltered scenic lake-mountain view setting for memorable alfresco meals.

The 1st floor of the villa features 2 spacious Double bedrooms with romantic beamed ceilings, each with a lake view and terrace access. From the villa’s welcoming ground floor, a flight of stairs leads out to a lower-level ground floor room with direct access out onto a sunny portico terrace. The open plan guest room features a modern Double bed, wardrobe and ambient fireplace, perfect for wintertime holiday slumbers. A third Double bedroom with partial lake views also features on the lower ground floor of the villa.

The couple-friendly Double bedrooms are complemented by 2 modern fitted shower rooms, each with a WC and an extra service WC to the ground floor, for added convenience.

Outside, a lovely private garden can be enjoyed on two levels. The top terrace features a private outdoor swimming pool with poolside, whilst the lower garden features a sunny flat lawn with a chic sitting area and a flight of stone steps leading up to the villa, where a covered, partially open portico dining terrace with lake and mountain views can be enjoyed.

The detached modern villa also benefits from a private parking space and a sunny, scenic setting on the Germasino hillside. The quiet road offers proximity to a selection of nearby local eateries and the resort amenities of Gravedona (15 minutes’ drive away).

Location:
Located along ‘Strada Provinciale’ in the quaint hillside village of Germasino, the detached modern villa places guests within walking distance of a small traditional ‘Alimentari’ grocery shop and an ‘Osteria’ and a short 15 minutes’ drive from the local eateries, authentic restaurants and shops on offer in the lakeside resort town of Gravedona.

The family-friendly restaurants, outdoor sports hire and watersport clubs of Domaso (17 minutes’ drive) and Dongo (10 minutes’ drive) are also close by for action-filled days.

Guests can enjoy everything from hiking, cycling, sailing and wind surfing to canoeing, camping, football, tennis and power boat rentals in the local neighbourhood.

In the winter time, guests can also enjoy the Italian Alp ski slopes of nearby Madesimo (73 minutes’ drive away).

Those wishing to sightsee are placed just 23 minutes’ drive away from the Central Lake resort of Menaggio. It’s strategic setting, road-bus links and car-passenger ferry service make day trips to Varenna, Bellagio, Tremezzina and Como city all possible, whilst opening up opportunities further afield, to reach Lake Lugano and Milan.

The Villa was absolutely exceptional! The most incredible views, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. We had the most wonderful week and loved the pool and the peaceful location. The outside dining area was fabulous with a panoramic view of the lake and mountains. A car is a must as the Villa is quite a way up the mountain but it is within walking distance of the nearest town at the bottom (around 45 minutes each way)

The house was good for us as a 4 person family. I would not recommend to stay here with more than 6 people. We liked the kitchen, patio with the beautiful view and pool area. We found the celar sleeping rooms and bath room smelling a bit after sewer and did not have warm water for a shower here. The road towards the house is challenging for bigger cars,since these are very narrow and steep. We would only recommend this if you’ve got a smaller car.

Property not maintained

We rented this property for 6 nights. Although the views were magnificent, it was apparent when we arrived that the property is not being properly maintained. The pool was filthy and green and we had to wait a full day to use it so someone could come clean it. The lawn was overgrown, causing many bugs to be around the house and pool. We took matters into our own hands and sprayed and removed wasp nests and trimmed the bushes so our kids would not scratch themselves walking up the stone steps. The view would be that much better with trimmed hedges. We contacted the management company several times after our trip but never received the courtesy of a reply. My advice: Find another house on beautiful Lake Como.

Geburtstagswochenende

Alles war bestens - das Haus hat eine tolle Lage - zimmeraufteilung und Außenbereich wirklich toll. Schade war nur dass wir trotz hohem Aufpreis für den Pool keine Leiter hatten und am Wochenende die Kommunikation zur Agentur mit längerer antwortzeit verbunden war.

Dank voor de gastvrijheid in jullie mooie Italiaanse villa, met elke dag weer een specta uitzicht over het iconische Comomeer. We hebben genoten van alle weersomstandigheden. In die verschillen laat het Comomeer zich ook steeds van een andere kant zien. We hebben heerlijk gezwommen, gezond, gevaren in het meer. En genoten van de geweldige Italiaanse keuken: la Fattoria is onze favoriet! Como heeft ons verrast qua gezelligheid en charme. Wat een mooi plaatsje is dat! Of anders het gezellige plein met dorpshuis met heerlijke koffie van de gastvrije Italiaanse bewoners. We komen graag terug, Ciao Casa dei Galli.

Sehr zufrieden war ich mit dem Kontakt mit Ihnen und Ihren Kollegen im Umfeld der Buchung des Objekts. Ihre Antworten auf meine Rückfragen waren immer hilfreich, wobei ich vor allem die Freundlichkeit Ihres Personal hervorheben möchte, insbesondere Carla. Das Casa dei Galli hat unsere Erwartungen voll erfüllt, und es war hervorragend dafür geeignet, einen gemeinsamen Urlaub in einer Gruppe von 8 Personen anlässlich meines 70sten Geburtstages zu verbringen. Das Haus bot aureichend Platz für alle. Es hat eine hervorragende Lage mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht, nicht nur auf den See, sondern morgens auch auf die Kirche von Germasino vor einem Bergpanaroma. Die Lage des Casa dei Galli bedingt allerdings auch einige "Finessen", die die Gäste bewältigen müssen: Etliche Treppen in z. T. unterschiedlichem Stufenformat und eine etwas schwierige Ein - und vor allem Ausfahrt zum bzw. vom Gelände. Für Gehbehinderte oder in Ihrer Beweglichkeit eingeschränkte Personen ist das nichts - uns hat das trotz des schon etwas fortgeschrittenen Alters einiger Reiseteilnehmer aber keine Probleme bereitet. Wir haben das Casa dei Galli innen sehr sauber und aufgeräumt angetroffen. Die Betten waren gut, alle Geräte der Innenausstattung (Küche, TV etc.) haben funktioniert. lediglich ein Türgriff an der Tür vom Wohnzimmer zum Treppenhaus war locker und fiel ab und zu herunter (wir hatten leider kein Werkzeug, um das zu reparieren). Der Außenbereich - Garten und Pool - hat uns ebenfalls sehr gefallen, das Wasser des Pools war sauber und angenehm zum Schwimmen. Leider war die Einstiegsleiter zum Pool gelockert, so dass hier die Gefahr bestand, dass diese sich löst und Personen hätten zu Schaden kommen können. Erst am Ende unseres Urlaubs haben wir festgestellt, dass dies lediglich an einer gelockerten Schraubverbindung lag, die durch eine Blende abgedeckt war (leider hatten wir auch hierfür kein Werkzeug, um das zu korrigieren). Die Sevicekräfte, die an unserem Abreisetag den Pool und das Außengelände für die nächste Belegung kontollierten, haben sich auf unseren Hinweis hin aber diesem Problen angenommen, wie auch einem aus einem Treppenabsatz herausgebrochenen lockeren Randstein, der ebenfalls zu einem Unfall hätte führen können. In diesem Zusammenhang empfehle ich schließlich, das Treppengeländer an der Treppe vom Parkplatz zum Untergeschoss hin neu zu befestigen. Es ist sehr locker und bietet keinen sicheren Halt, einmal abgesehen davon dass es viel zu niedrig angebracht ist. Leider haben die Gäste vor uns oder die Reinigungskräfte versäumt, den letzten Müll zu entsorgen, der einfach im Bereich des Patio vor der Haustür abgelegt war. Nach einem Anruf bei Ihnen in der Agentur, wurde dieser Müll aber gleichen Tages noch entsorgt. Bei dieser Gelegenheit gebe ich Ihnen noch die Empfehlung, in den Hausinformationen etwas besser zu beschreiben, wie und wo die Gäste den während ihrer Anwesenheit anfallenden Müll genau zu entsorgen haben. Das ist und erst nach einem Kontakt mir Ihrer Agentur klar geworden. Schön wäre gewesen, wenn das Außengelände etwas besser gefegt gewesen und dort liegendes altes Laub entfernt worden wäre. Trotz der genannten kleineren Mängel hat uns das Casa dei Galli sehr gut gefallen. Wir werden noch lange und gerne an unseren gemeinsamen Urlaub am Comer zurückdenken. Eine Woche ist jedoch ein zu kurzer Zeitraum, um allzuviel unternehmen zu können, vor allem wenn es zwei Tage absolut schlechtes Wetter gibt und man einen Tag dafü braucht, seinen verdienten Geburtststag zu feiern.

Casa dei Galli

Wij zijn september 2020 richting Italië, como meer gegaan. Het was een last minute beslissing waardoor het erg fijn was dat Lake Como Holiday snel reageerde en schakelde. Hierdoor konden we met een gerust hart op vakantie.Toch blijft het altijd spannend als je een huis boekt online waar je door middel van foto's beslist. Echter waren de foto's precies zoals hoe het huis er in het echt uitzag. De weg ernaartoe was bijna helemaal goed gegaan alleen waren we wel 2x voorbij het huis gereden. Het is goed opletten want het hek zit verstopt in een bocht en valt niet meteen op. Na een hoop slingerweggetjes zit je hoger in bergen maar daardoor zijn de views vanuit de villa prachtig. We waren aan het eind van het seizoen waardoor alleen de tuin minder goed was bijgehouden. De eerste zwembaddag moesten we het terras dan ook schoonvegen met alle bladeren en kapot gevallen vijgen. Het was dus even schrobben maar het zwembad was verder heerlijk. Op 5 minuten afstand zit een bakkertje waar je elke morgen verse broodjes kon halen. Andere boodschappen kan je beter doen bij een supermarkt op 15/20 minuten afstand met auto.Er zit ook een lekker restaurant (La Trave)op 20 min lopen, echter is het iets veiliger met de auto. Wij raden je aan om de wijnproeverij/diner te doen bij Azienda Agricola Sorasso in Domaso (20 minuutjes rijden vanaf de villa). Het eten was erg lekker, de mensen super beleefd, het uitzicht prachtig en natuurlijk niet onbelangrijk maar de wijn was ook heerlijk. Je kan ook meteen een voorraad kopen voor thuis. Verder hebben wij twee dagen vrijgemaakt om stadjes te bezoeken. 1 dag hebben we Menaggio, Bellagio en Tremezzo gedaan met de Ferry. Leuke knusse stadjes waar je echt de italiaanse sfeer proeft. De 2de dag zijn we naar Como gegaan met de Ferry, dit is iets verder dan de andere stadjes. Hier kan je heel de dag rondlopen, lekker eten en leuk shoppen. Wij hebben in ieder geval een top tijd gehad!

Nice cozy house, very well decorated with a great view on the Como lake and surroundings. The garden and swimming pool were very well maintained. Lot's of places in the garden to sit in the sun, and enjoy the nice views. The interior is also well maintained and cozy. Also the house was very clean. We really enjoyed being here!

We really had a wonderful stay in de Casa dei Galli. The house is well maintained, very comfortable and cosy. The surroundings of Lago di Como and the lake are beautiful. We ejoyed the nature as well as the cute Italian towns. But most of all the house has the most magnificent view overlooking the lake.

We had a perfect stay of 4 days in Casa die Galli! Together with my friends (total of 8). We enjoyed the house with the breath-taking view on the lake! Relaxing by the pool, with comfortable sunbeds, enjoying the garden and discovering the surroundings. The restaurant across the road serves wonderful food and at the bakery (on walking distance) you can get fresh bread. The full equipped house provides everything you need for a perfect stay, including very good beds for 8 persons.We all would love to come again!

We had a great long weekend at the Casa dei Galli with a magnificent view at Lake Como. A beautiful decorated house with plenty of room inside and outside. We especially loved the pool from which you can see the lake. The small Italian villages nearby are also worth visiting!
