Stunning View

Just an amazing stay. We enjoyed many meals and drinks on the outdoor patio overlooking Lake Como. The house is very nice and well set up for a large family. We absolutely loved it!

Beautiful view

The property was very nice, clean snd spacious. The host/ owner very pleasant.The air conditioner in the rooms were a bit musty and warmer than the rest of the house. Would have liked to have extra towels. Overall the property was nice.

Large Family Home with great Outdoor balcony with views

Comfortable large family home. Clean and tidy with full kitchen and laundry. Loved the idyllic location, just 15-20mins walk from Bellagio centre and great supermarkets.

Beautiful and peaceful villa!

Villa Marena was absolutely perfect for our family. The house is beautiful and charming, perched on a hill overlooking the lake. It is filled with rosemary bushes, grape vines, and fruit trees. Our children barely wanted to leave the property because they were so happy exploring the yard and feeding the ponies up on the hill. It is outside the crowds of Bellagio and feels like a private oasis. Zero complaints.

Welcoming farm house with fabulous views

We were very happy with the home. It met all of our needs and had fabulous views. It is a very well kept home with extra touches to make you very welcomed. The views were fabulous of the lake.

Lake Como family wedding and then a family vacation in Tuscany.

Our stay was first class, extremely clean home, fantastic location, views and amenities were better than described! Our host was very king and helpful with any questions - suggestions about Bellagio and Lake Como. Looks like we discovered our new holiday home! 😃

Beautiful home outside of Bellagio

Home is wonderful & spacious with beautiful views of the lake. It's a little difficult to find the drive way. It's better to speak with the family member on the property rather than emailing the owner.

Fabulous, home-y spot just outside of downtown bellagio!

This house was the perfect getaway for our family of 6. The house had plenty of room for us all and had all the amenities we needed. We especially loved the screened in porch and hanging out on the terrace outside that has a beautiful view of the lake. The house has AC which we really appreciated during that hot July week. This spot is an easy 5 minute walk to San Giovanni where there is a great cafe, delicious restaurant, and great swimming/boating spot. Then it’s just a 30 minute walk or 10 minute drive into downtown Bellagio. The host was incredibly friendly and kind.

Best vacation ever

The property was amazing! The amenities were what were listed… everything was thought of! The host met us when we arrived, gave us a quick tour and the “ low down”. Everything was so well done we never had to contact her again. The home was perfect in terms of our large family being able to spread out. The views from the large deck remain imprinted in my mind as a dream come true. The lake is a short walk away and Bellagio is not too far. I highly recommend this property fora wonderful vacation!

Perfect Stay in Bellagio

Beautiful well kept property inside and outside! Can walk to the beach from the villa & swim in Lake Como. Bring swim shoes, the lake & beach are very rocky. Wonderful area (San Giovani) away from all the tourists in Bellagio, but close to ferries. Grocery store very close with everything you need...including delicious breads, cheeses and home made raviolis. Spectacular view of Lake Como & mountains. Air conditioning was a must. In June '23 it was 93 degrees some days. Hosts were great. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The house wasgreat

There were no surprises when we arrived and checked out the house. It was very thoughtful that there were some food items for our arrival. Everything worked fine and the owner was responsible for a couple of maintenance issues. The yard lights did not come on the last two nights and we missed them. Getting around the area by walking is a little sketchy because the roadway is narrow. We found the ferry stop 10 minutes from the house very convenient.

Perfect Bellagio Getaway

Villa Marena: Charming, clean home on spacious property. Views of Lake Como and surrounding mountains from the main floor and outdoor dining deck are spectacular. The outdoor fireplace (and BBQ grill) are a big plus, as is the huge lawn area for lounging or playing around. The walk to Bellagio is about 15 minutes and is easy. Morning cappuccinos, boat rentals, and some dining options are located in San Giovanni, a little lakeside village that is steps away (3—5 minutes) and is adorable. The spectacular Menzi Villa and Gardens is only a 10 minute walk as well. Francesca and her folks manage the place with charm and hospitality and were wonderful to deal with. Great value for the price too. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay

Francesca's place was exactly as described on the VRBO site. We found it very clean and well appointed. The extras of milk in the refrigerator, a bottle of water, coffee/tea, and other food items was wonderful and very much appreciated! The location is easy to find and close to Bellagio, although not walking distance. We did find the little town down the hill easy to walk to, however, and we visited it almost every morning for coffee and a pastry. This coffee bar also makes excellent cocktails in the evenings! Our beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of space for us to spread out in the house. The kitchen was complete and easy to cook in. Overall an excellent choice for our stay in Bellagio! We would highly recommend it!

Home away from home

Lorella has a beautiful home and is a beautiful host. We felt welcomed and cared for - the home was kid friendly, we loved the playroom, she had all the amenities we needed for cooking, and the rooms were comfortable. I LOVED that she provided a drip coffee maker and coffee + milk to help us get through until we learned our way an around. The location is a short drive into Bellagio. We did walk once but would not recommend due to the uphill climb back and requirement to walk on busy roads without sidewalks. Parking in downtown Bellagio was no problem. The home is also a short walk to a playground and coffee shop. The property is beautiful with animals in sight and a gorgeous view. We felt perfectly relaxed and at home.

Beautiful place with wonderful hosts.

The home is beautiful sitting just above lake como. There is an outdoor terrace off the kitchen with spectacular views of the lake. I stayed here with my cousin and our parents who are in their 70s and 80s. If you don not have a car, I would not recommend for older people or anyone who is not relatively fit. The home is a short walk to a ferry and a couple restaurants and there is a path to avoid walking on the very narrow curving highway, unfortunately the “path” is more like a drainage channel lined with large rocks so it is challenging to navigate and required good balance, which my parents and aunt ir uncle do not have. It was nearly impossible to get a car ride (Uber or taxi) at least in the summer of 2022. We spent hours on the phone trying to get cars and then eventually had to rent a car. If you and your guests have good balance I highly recommend! It is also only about a 20-25 minute walk to town and the hosts were very responsive.

Wonderful

This review is long overdue…we stayed in July 2022. Beautiful spot, lovely villa, on relaxing grounds that make you want to spend every minute outside. Lots of homemade dinners cooked with ingredients from the local market (about a mile away) and enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the lake. The only thing we missed was being able to watch Wimbledon on the TV in the family room. The owners were helpful, friendly, and warm. We loved our time here!

Spectacular views!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this charming home with amazing views of Lake Como. Close to Bellagio Centro and we felt immersed in the Italian community and culture. Home definitely had old world charm. Our favorite place to gather was on the deck with a 180° view of Lake Como and on a different patio with a fire pit Francesca’s mom and dad were so kind and helpful and live close by on a separate property on the grounds. Highly recommend!!

I was born and raised in Bellagio, and it is here that I live with my son Lorenzo (8 years old). We love being outdoors and taking care of the garden and our pets! When we can, we visit new places, we like traveling itineraries, both in the surroundings and in distant places!

In 1998 my father built our first vacation home, since 2005 I manage the business with his precious help! In 2018 we opened to the tourists Villa Marena, the house where I was born and grew up with my sister. My family lives in the villa next door.

It is a cozy home with a large garden! The view is relaxing and peace reigns in every season! I loved growing up here and I hope my guests feel at home!
