This property is the ideal holiday base for a couple to enjoy a wonderful retreat, and explore all that the Isle of Wight has to offer.. 1 step to entrance.

Ground Floor:

Living/dining room: 48" Freeview Smart TV, French Doors To Garden

Kitchen: Electric Oven, Gas Hob, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine

First Floor:

Bedroom: Kingsize (5ft) Bed Ensuite: Bath, Cubicle Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Electric central heating (underfloor in living room and bathroom), electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. Enclosed, lawned garden with garden furniture. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Formerly a National Trust office, this 200-year-old thatched barn is nestled in the village of Brighstone and offers an ideal base to explore this delightful area.



The owners Grade II listed, detached, thatched cottage sits in the grounds and the wider area is ideal for those looking to explore. The Heritage Coast, ever popular with walkers is 1½ miles. Glorious beaches and hidden coves to marked walking trails, all combine to make this a wonderful days exploration. The Isle of Wight bursts with opportunities all year round, from a trip to see the ever-famous Needles, the islands landmark attraction, to a vast array of watersports, or why not visit the many honey pot villages dotted around the island with souvenir shops and eateries. Bustling Yarmouth is well worth a visit with a wealth of shops and restaurants mixed with narrow lanes and plenty of maritime adventure. Here you can also catch a bus at the quay, stopping at a variety of local attractions, including the watermill at Calbourne, one of the oldest watermills in the UK and Osbourne House, a former Royal residence. Beach 3½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Quiet cosy barn, warm and inviting, the location is perfect being both quiet and peaceful but only a few minutes from amazing the village of Brighstone with a great pub, two fabulous cafes and the best village shop ever… there is nothing they don't sell and are keen to support local artisans! The barn is beautifully presented with a mix of antique and modern. The kitchen is well equipped and leads onto a private garden when if weather allows is a great little spot for breakfast. Plenty of parking too. The site is very well maintained with the gardens a joy. We hope to return before too long as everyone we met only added to a great Autumn break.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brixton Barn.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brixton Barn. Beautiful old barn building converted with a lot of thought and taste, with all the mod cons you might want including a gorgeous air jet bath to soak in after a long hike! The village location is beautiful & quiet, with a great little village shop well stocked with plenty of local produce. 20min walk to the beach and the Downs start practically from your back garden. Our hosts were very welcoming, friendly and helpful with local tips on walks, pubs and villages to visit. Our highlight for the week was a kayaking trip they took us on - truly made our week an unforgettable one. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

This was a lovely cottage, the hosts were a lovely couple, very helpful - although be prepared to travel to eat out - the local pub was not to our liking. The village shop was amazing and had everything you could want enough to make meals at the cottage from a spag bol to steaks and roasts. Best bit of advice...make your pub/restaurant booking early to avoid disappointment in peak times. As a guide a taxi from the cottage to Yarmouth was £20 EW so factor this into your budget. Fantastic time had by both of us. We found everything we needed to make our stay perfect. Our host were charming and always available if needed, but they didn't interfere with our stay at all. We would love to go to Brixton Barn again.

Fantastic holiday.

Fantastic holiday. Accommodation first class. Brixton barn was well equipped. Great shower and bed. The owners of the property were extremely helpful with advice on where to visit as this was our first visit to the island. Will definitely book with them another time.

We loved the cottage Christine and Colin made us feel very welcome.

We loved the cottage Christine and Colin made us feel very welcome. They even phoned us to let us know that we could get into the cottage earlier than planned. We found it was easy to get about from there , its suprising how near the coast you are. We had to make a visit to the hospital in Newport but even that was no big deal we were in and out in 30 minutes. The only addition to the cottage I would make would be a shower mat, it gets very slippery . The bed was very comfy and that spa bath was very relaxing.

We had a fabulous time at Brixton Barn.

We had a fabulous time at Brixton Barn. It was well equipped, comfortable and the contents of the welcome pack were much appreciated. The bath was a real luxury as well. The barn is in the ideal situation for touring around the island and the village is beautiful. A wonderful, relaxing place to stay.
