ST RAPHAEL, The Property - It is a former convent and local landmark. Today it boasts three elegant, self-contained holiday accommodations set in a 6000sq. metre private estate with a rambling serene garden and views to Sydney & the Blue Mountains.

THE CHAPEL
The renovated and refurbished Chapel is a large and luxurious space which was formerly the convent chapel. It forms the north wing of the main convent building.

- Two sleeping areas in separate rooms, both with ensuite bathrooms (one with generous sized spa bath)
- A modern eat-in kitchen, a large living and dining space, and its own furnished outdoor patio area overlooking the gardens.
- European-style central heating is perfect for those cold winter nights.
- Parking is adjacent to the private chapel entry.
The Chapel can accommodate two couples or family of 4 or just one couple
- TV/ DVD/ USB Dock/ Free WIFI

A lovely retreat!

This property was everything it said it would be. It is spacious, warm, well-equipped and placed perfectly in Leura. We will definitely stay here again.

Stay at "The Chapel"

Stayed in "The Old Chapel" for 1 night with my partner, we fell in love with the cozy little accommodation, loved that The Chapel had a Piano that we could utilise and loved sleeping on the alter

Beauty and comfort

The Old Chapel was wonderfully comfortable and on such a cold day the central heating was much appreciated, as was the spa bath! The gardens provided a beautiful, tranquil outlook.

Gorgeous Chapel Leura

An extremely comfortable,warm and cosy stay in the chapel. It had everything we needed and on the coldest few days of the year up the mountains, the very efficient central heating kept us so toasty all night. Gorgeous sunrise and sunset views front and back. Thoroughly recommended!

Simple and comfortable

We spent 2 very comfortable nights in The Priest's Cottage. The cottage is equipped with all of the basics and then some. Quiet, private, well priced and within very easy walking distance of Leura shops. Decor is a bit eclectic but that is a minor issue. Recommended

It’s one of the nicest place I have ever stayed in. Wished I had booked it for a few days instead of just 1. Peaceful environment. Clean, beautiful, cosy, big home. Well equipped kitchen. Even has manual and instructions clearly printed. My friends and I really loved it. Thank you!

Mother daughter getaway

This house (chapel) was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. The only hiccup was trying to check in. We arrived the same time as another couple and none of us had a check in code. It was apparently sent via another website but I couldn’t open it. But when I called a lovely young man showed up within minutes and helped us all to Open our doors.

Perfect serenity

The Chapel is a lovely space that is beautifully renovated and decorated to a very high standard. It’s only a 5 min walk to town but is very quiet and peaceful. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return.

What a lovely property

Long weekend in Leura

We found the property the be spacious, clean, warm and well appointed. The location is great being a 5 minutes walk to Leura shops and away from the crowds. Would highly recommend The Chapel. If staying with another couple at The Chapel be aware that the main bed is not private but this is obvious from the photos.

A real gem.

Delightful and very quiet location with an easy walk to Leura Mall. Spacious and welcoming interior. A really well equipped kitchen.

Lacking privacy

While the setting was lovely and the gardens gorgeous, the accommodation offers very little in the way of privacy, which made our stay a little less comfortable than we would have hoped for.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at The Old Chapel Your comments in regards to the gardens and setting are much appreciated In regards to the privacy issue we try to make our photos as clear and comprehensive as possible. There are 22 photos on stayz in regards to the Old Chapel The Old Chapel has the main bedroom elevated on what was the original Chapel Altar with the lounge area being where the nuns would have sat in the Chapel area. This is clearly shown in the photos however I can understand that if guests are staying in the second bedroom (which has it's own bathroom and 2doors with a corridor separating for privacy) and they wish to go into the kitchen during the night, they may feel a lack of privacy with the main bedroom being so open. The Convent may have suited your needs better, however it was not available for the dates you had requested.

Better than the beautiful photos

We only stayed for the one night, wished it could have been a week, an idyllic home, lush garden, everything in the house was just as you'd wish, down to sharp knives in the kitchen (a total rarity in holiday rentals). Would happily recommend his lovely property. Pure delight!

Superb !

Four of us stayed at the Nuns Quarters at St Raphael over a weekend. We had two bedrooms and bathrooms and a large open plan living kitchen area. There was a lovely amount of space which flowed onto an open deck and the garden. We had all the comforts of home, with tasteful décor and quality fittings. The kitchen was amazing, as were the views. It was so comfortable we needed to force ourselves out to enjoy the Blue Mountains!

Nice but don't ask for more towels

Lovely venue, beautiful, and well equipped. But - we stayed 3 days, were given two towels each and the host flatly refused to supply more towels. For the price it was ridiculous stinginess. The attitude really turned us off the property. We travel a great deal and have never come across such counter productive behaviour.

This Treasured Teapot Museum reflects and preserves the diversity of Australian tea-drinking culture. We have now become the largest private teapot collection in the world and have a reputation in the Blue Mountains.
In 2009, 2010 and 2011, Bygone Beautys have been awarded the Hall of Fame award for both peoples choice as well as community contribution on behalf of CR Daniel Myles (Mayor of Blue Mountains City Council), Dave Garner (President, BIZNET) and Randall Walker (Chair, BMLOT).
