Clean and modern accommodation . Very private with a beautiful view over the water. Everything you need from cooking to cleaning. Close to grocery store and restaurants. Excellent parking right beside accommodation. Highly recommend.

This was a terrific place to spend a few days. The listing pictures don't do justice to how pleasant it really is- the windows looking out on the water give a feel of almost being on a boat. Sue, the host, was welcoming and helpful at directing us to local resources. The cabin is quiet and well kept, with good amenities in the kitchen. It didn't hurt that we had spectacularly good fall sunshine for our entire stay, and beautiful sunrises.It's an ideal spot for a couple. There is really not room for more but it's perfect for a couple's getaway. The most pleasant Vrbo we have stayed in by far. Zero criticisms. We hope to be back.
The area beneath the cabin- there is plentiful seating and a covered swing.

I can confidently say this was by far the best rental experience Iā€™ve had to date. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the stunning views and the thoughtful personal touches that make this cottage feel incredibly special.The multi-tiered seating area overlooking the water is just brilliant. The decor throughout the cottage is tasteful and charming, clearly put together with care, and adds so much character to the space.One of the absolute highlights for me was the access to kayaks and paddle boards! Such a fun way to explore the water and create some unforgettable adventures. Itā€™s not every day you find a rental that offers both beauty and activities like this included.This place is a gem, and one I wonā€™t soon forget. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, scenic, and adventure-filled getaway.

My husband and I had the BEST time at Sueā€™s beautiful oceanfront cabin!Itā€™s somehow even more stunning in person than in the photographs.The cabin itself has everything you need for a very comfortable stay, with ocean views from every room (even the bathroom!)And the outdoor space is simple above & beyond. Multiple seating areas on multiple levels - each designed for comfort & overlooking the ocean.We swam, went for walks along the water, watched the sunrise and sunset, watched the stars, and simply had the most amazing stay.Sue is absolutely lovely & this is hands down one of the best places weā€™ve ever stayed.Weā€™re definitely planning on booking another stay. Thanks Sue for your hospitality!

Wow-this is a dream vacation property!! The views from inside and out the cottage are spectacular. With 4 levels of terraces and 3 propane gas fire tables, literally at the waters edge, you are spoiled for choice to soak up the seaside. Inside the living room feels like you are hanging over the ocean. The cottage is very modern with super comfy bed and living room chairs. Amazing sunrise and sunsets!! Resident sea otters & seals, and numerous shore birds are a treat to observe ā€¦with binoculars provided in the cottage. Kayaks & paddleboards stored at water level are a bonus to explore the coastline. You can go for a swim too. And it is oh so peaceful and relaxing at this property!!! Easy to find & check in was a breeze with emailed instructions. Kitchen items/utensils fully stocked. Groceries just 5 min drive with laidback Ladysmith just 8 mins up the road. You must check out the famous cinnamon buns at Old Town Bakery and the scones are delicious too! Our host Sue is so lovely! We enjoyed chatting with her and hearing about her garden with all the varied plants. I had to find a last minute massage for a sore back & it was Sue to the rescue with her business contacts when all other places were booked! Thank you Sue. We absolutely loved your cottage and canā€™t wait to return to your oasis by the sea soon!!

Cannot beat these views, even from inside. Perfect location if you want a low-key, chill vacation. So many comfortable places to sit outside and see wildlife and hear the ocean. Close to Chemainus and ladysmith where we had lunch and explored the towns. Oh and the couch reclines.

Peaceful retreat

Such a great quiet location. The cottage has everything you would need. Lots of towels and comfortable bed. Well laid out living room. And the view is stunning. A big bonus are all of the outdoor seating areas - some with propane fire pits totally for your use. I travel for work and always stay here as can chill and prepare my own meal after a long day. The place is totally spotless

Outstanding Rental

From the moment you pull up to the first view to the water inside the cabin, itā€™s outstanding. The pictures really donā€™t do it justice, as great as they are. The views from this property are nothing short of remarkable! The cabin had everything we needed, was very clean, was extremely comfortable and quiet. The waterfront patios are so private and relaxing to spend time on. We enjoyed every minute! It was awesome to have use of the kayaks! Really calm bay to paddle in and easy beachfront access. We enjoyed watching the seals and otters every day and even caught a bald eagle on camera one morning. Sue was an exceptional host who responded so quickly to every question and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit with her! She was so welcoming and accommodating. We canā€™t wait to return one day and highly recommend Sueā€™s rental! Thanks for everything, Sue! Until next time.

Amazing Stay

Its truly a luxury experience. This place has everything you need for a relaxing getaway and more. The location near the water is unbeatable. The view is amazing especially coupled with gas firepits, or real wood firepit on the lower level. We had a wonderful time here 2nd time and would book again.

Not as Advertised - Even Better!

We were delighted to discover Sue's stunning sea-side retreat, which is a private, self contained beach house perched on a bluff with unobstructed views of Ladysmith Harbour and surrounding islands. The location is perfect for exploring mid or south Vancouver Island. The accommodation is well-appointed, with many thoughtful details and extras - we immediately felt at home and never in need of anything. The property has exceptional amenities - two ocean-front seating areas with fire pits to enjoy sunsets and star gazing, and multiple seating areas for lounging, sun-bathing, yoga etc. There is a shed at water level that is stocked with kayaks, life jackets, and stand up paddle (SUP) boards. The property is easy to access, and has convenient off-street parking. Sue was friendly and responsive. We will be back!

Perfect Accommodation With Views

Not a single detail was overlooked in this stunning vacation getaway rental. All needs were addressed including a welcome bottle of wine. The interior was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Choose from an array of different locations on the amazing multi level private concrete decks that overlook the water. We enjoyed watching for wildlife in the water, especially the family of sea otters that were entertaining. Spectacular sunrise views. We will be back.

Everything advertised about this stay was underrated. This place gets 10 of 10 stars. It ticked off every box and became the peaceful joyful getaway that one dreams about. Perfect cozy cabin

If you want to be on a cliff overlooking the water with nothing I. Your view but ocean - then this is the perfect place. The various terraces down to the ocean provide so many awesome seating areas depending on your mood. Sit by the fire in the evening and watch the sun set. I was on a quick work trip and it was nice to come back to a place like home. Thank you!

Perfect home base for a trip to Vancouver Island

My wife and I enjoyed our visit to the island and this property very much. The cabin was very clean and well-appointed. We appreciated the sunrises over the water and the complimentary use of the kayaks. We were easily able to take day trips to Victoria, Parksville, and Port Renfrew, returning to the cabin before dark each time. We enjoyed a show at Chemainus Theatre and all of our meals at restaurants in nearby Chemainus and Ladysmith. Overall, it was a lovely trip. Thank you to Sue for her hospitality.
