Work Trip

We stayed here while attending the Turkey Run in Daytona. It was a lovely unit with everything you could possibly need.

Pros - large home, delightful outside as we could go out onto the patio then beach, about 6 min walk to Flagler for restaurants, lots of little touches provided to make things like home, good selection of kitchen small appliances, Cons -on 3 separate issues when we called management company we had to call at least twice (consecutive days) in order to get them to respond. Personnel were friendly but there wasn't follow up.

I was skeptical about a first floor residence, but found the convenience to far exceed my wish for a better view of the ocean! Will definitely book here again

Beatiful Condo, Beautiful Beach.. Just ignore exterior safety issues

My family and I visited during Spring Break 2019. The condo itself and extras within the condo are fantastic (modern appliances, very comfortable beds, very clean, clean and perfectly located swimming pool). Our main reason for choosing this particular condo was the direct access from the porch to the pool/spa/beach areas. We were unable to use this condo feature for the duration of our stay due to safety concerns associated with wide areas of missing and broken tile. In discussing this topic with the local condo residents; the tile has been breaking for months and repairs will be part of a future condo assessment. The management company for this property (Great Ocean Condos) was unable to rectify the safety concerns or fully compensate the paid premium for ground floor access to the pool/beach areas. My recommendation is for any future renters to ask for confirmation that the pictures used to describe the condo are showing the property's current state. My recommendation for any owners looking to use to use Great Ocean Condos as a conduit to accessing renters is to ensure that the management company you choose is enabled to address safety and other significant concerns from your renters. After all, you, the owner, are paying a premium for a management company to properly manage your property.

Great Vacation!

My husband and I booked this condo last minute for a spring break trip with our two children. When we were originally making plans we found another condo not as close to the beach we were interested in booking. When we inquired about the other condo we asked the owner if they would consider a cheaper price because it was within 48 hours of arrival and their condo still hadn’t been booked. We were quickly denied and turned away. This was a blessing. We ended up booking this first floor condo directly on the beach and it was fantastic! We ended up paying much more, but it was totally worth every penny. The owners of this condo have impeccable taste and the furnishings are top quality down to every detail. Everything is furnished for you including coolers to take to the beach and beach towels. The only flaw to this condo is the outside patio leading to the beach or pool has tiles that are broken, and one section has tiles that “heaved” up from the elements of the weather. If you have short legs it makes it difficult to step over this area without getting your toes pinched. I am sure this is something the owners or building maintenance will take care of. We had all the comforts of our own home, but this condo included a great location and obviously much better weather than Ohio! Thank You for a great vacation! We will definitely return!!!

Beautiful property

Place was beautiful! Everything was in working order. You don’t need to bring anything with you here! Beach towels, beach chairs, beach toys all there!!!! Loved 1st floor not having to hassle with the elevator or stairs! Only down side Hard to get used to seeing people drive cars up and down the beach. Internet spotty in back bedrooms sometimes. Overall amazing place. Beautifully decorated and kept! Will definitely rent again!

Beatiful, clean, and spacious!

This condo is absolutely wonderful! It is very spacious, clean, and decorated beautifully. They have thought of everything you need and much more right there for you during your stay. Our kids loved the games and beach items available for them to use! Kitchen was gorgeous and offered all the things you need to prepare meals. We loved the back porch and furniture on it to relax. Very easy access to the pool and hot tub (we had it pretty much to ourselves the entire week)!

Construction issues and management communications

The condo unit itself is very nice. However the view depicted in the picture accompanying this review was totally obstructed during our visit due to the fact that the area was used as a staging site for construction and was full of equipment . This not only took away the view but due to the construction going on at the site made the balcony unusable during the day. The construction apparatus was only part of the problem. The workers, who were not a problem due to behavior, were a problem due to their presence which was not their fault. They had a job. However the presence of workers constantly around the condo also deprived us of any privacy during the day and caused us to close all blinds in the condo on a daily basis. Further, the pool was off limits during the day, closed due to construction. The management was not entirely forthcoming with the status of the construction. Initially once the unit was reserved and payment made we were notified that there would be a crew painting the condo building which would actually be completed before we were to arrive. Then just two days before we arrived we were notified that the work was not completed but it would result in only minor inconvenience. As described this was not the case. In fact one of the job foremen told us that the work had only just started and contradicted what we had been told by the condo management. In the condo unit itself most amenities were good. However, the Jacuzzi which was part of the draw for renting the unit did not work. We therefore were not able to enjoy the unit as advertised. To date no compensation has been offered for the major inconvenience caused by the work. Given the situation I would have expected a direct communication from the management apologizing for the inconvenience and a reduced rate on the condo.
