Hey, this place is a FIND. A holiday within a holiday. Perfect on so many levels. BTW Vodafone works perfectly at this property and the internet was fast. It was like were were dreaming for the four nights that we stayed at the Daintree Valley Cottage. Worth every cent and more!!!!

Bliss in the Daintree

Wow. I am normally a beach person, but this house and location blew me away. We absolutely loved every minute being here and enjoyed everything that the Daintree has to offer. Everlasting memories. Thank you.

Bliss

The home was very comfortable to stay in, and even though neighbours are around in this rainforest space, it was still very private. Being perched on the side of the hill the views are expansive, and it catches any breeze making it a comfortable place in the tropics. We found it very comfortably for two, with lots of space indoors and out. The multi-level deck/verandah and plunge pool were a standout. We had a mixed week of rain and sunshine, and could spend time comfortably sheltered on the verandah with multiple seating options. Inside is well equipped and although off grid we were surprised at how well set up the house is. Visiting the Daintree is about being in the space, and relaxing and this home enables you to do very little or lots easily. Loved it, sad to leave.

One of the loveliest spots in the world

We stayed here a week from October 7 to 13. I was anticipating the week with enthusiasm, but found the actual place was far above my high expectations. The cottage/house was perfect: great and well equipped kitchen, dining and living area, rather open plan, and place, including the huge bathroom, one with the outdoors through windows and doors. The deck was almost as big as the house! From the deck one faced north, looking down a field to the ridges of hills around the river valley, which would be filled with fog in the mornings. Great sunsets. The only trouble is that we never wanted to leave the property. We did- but were always happy to be back, and to be part of the rhythm of the birds and the day. Nature all around, all the day, all the night. It was quite hot, but not in the house- the ceiling fans worked magic, and the house was never hot. Dealing with Marie by email before we went, and Peter when we arrived worked out so well, and added to the general great feelings we had about our luck in finding such a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the rainforest. The house is powered by solar, and this made us even more feel as if we were treading softly, and were part, not invaders, of the life around us. I've used HomeAway and Airbnb for a decade, and this was the best of all the wonderful places I've stayed in.

Winning the lottery

Beautiful views of forest and mountains with a chorus of birds at sunrise. The house opens up to the natural world around with an amazing verandah. Well appointed kitchen, clean, airy. Central to the Daintree, Mossman Gorge and river crocodile cruises. We loved it.

Tranquil and relaxing, stunning views, great amenities

Beautifully located, scenic and peaceful, the cottage has everything you need and is very comfortable. Could stay for much longer. The host was quick to respond to my queries and everything was just easy. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

What an amazing place to spend our anniversary!!!

We could not have chosen a more special place to spend our anniversary. From the moment we stepped in we enjoyed our stay immensely. We would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone who wants to get away and enjoy the beautiful nature and peace that this place has to offer. Thank you so much again for having us!

Peaceful, Rejuvenating, and Natural

Our stay at the Daintree Valley Cottage was fantastic. Coming after visits to Sydney and Melbourne, we were not completely sure what to expect (beyond all of the photos and descriptions provided), but I'll say that our expectations were exceeded. The instructions and directions provided were simple and very accurate, and we arrived without issue. We stopped for groceries prior to the ferry crossing, and spent the following day relaxing on the deck. The cottage was very clean and immediately comfortable. Alternating with days spent reading and laying out on the deck, we ventured into Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation, and Daintree Village to explore. All very easy to navigate. The final days of a two-week holiday were excellently experienced with the sights and sounds of the rainforest. A wonderful trip.

Beautiful, well-appointed home

We really enjoyed our stay at the Daintree Valley Cottage. The property has a feeling of seclusion without being too remote (only a few minutes away from the Daintree Ferry) and gorgeous vistas. The interior is nicely decorated and very comfortable. Check-in and communication with the host was very smooth as well.

Stunning!

Thank you so much for an unforgettable stay at your wonderful cottage. This hidden gem in the Daintree rainforest had everything we could have wanted. Just to begin - each window provided picture perfect views of the impeccable grounds and the view from the balcony.... Oh my goodness - jaw dropping!! We had everything we needed in the cottage - beautiful kitchen, comfy bed and wonderful spa (and much, much more). Highly recommend this property for anyone seeking a truly serene getaway in the heart of the Daintree. Enjoying the views and sounds of the rainforest from the comfort of this cottage was an exceptional experience. I hope to return to this gorgeous place very soon.

Hidden in the rainforest

We spend 5 days for our honeymoon at Daintree Valley Cottage. We were not disappointed. Total privacy as it is a huge block. Behind the cottage is just forest full of bird life. Loved waking to the sounds of the forest. Besides the glorious surroundings, the cottage its self was quite spacious. The spa can in handy to soak sore muscles after a long hike through the daintree. There was definitely nothing extra that we need there. Oh the ferry ride across the river was a little extra exciting. We ended up getting a 5 day multi pass for the ferry which cost $54. But that gave us 5 return tickets. However the owners did include 1 return trip with the booking. Only advice is stock up on any food or drinks needed at mossman Woolworths. As there is no local shop anywhere near. Its has been the best location to date. Total peace and quiet. We hope to be back.

Peaceful Paradise

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week in the Daintree. The cottage was everything we had hoped for - great views, quiet surrounds, a well-stocked supply of cooking tools, and a great base for exploring the Daintree.

We loved staying at Daintree Valley cottage! Relaxing and dining with the beautiful view on the deck was the highlight of our trip. Great location with all the Daintree has to offer in easy driving distance. Would highly recommend.

Well Worth It

We enjoyed this place. It's eco-friendly which means it does lack certain luxuries e.g. air conditioning. But you know that when you rent it, so it shouldn't be a problem. The lack of curtains was a definite downfall - I didn't want to wake up at sunrise every morning. It is a beautiful, private and quiet location. There is lots of bird life. It has nice amenities. The spa bath was great. Watch out for the mosquitoes!

We are thrilled to hear you had a lovely time in the cottage and enjoy the spa bath as well as the surroundings that the daintree has to offer, it is quite special. We do have the fans in every room and balcony to provide for a constant flow of air for comfort and this helps in the prevention of the mosquitoes disturbing you, and hope you were able to use some of the items left to also keep them away, sometimes after a rain that they are a bit more prominent. We are happy to consider blinds, but we honestly have never had anyone suggest that before as the sun comes from behind the mountain and house, although we always like to make everyone as comfortable as possible, so thank you for your thoughts. We hope you might be able to return in the future and if not please tell your friends. thank you for your visit and choice of places to stay.

Delightful cottage!

What a beautiful place to spend some quiet time in the Daintree. The cottage is absolutely wonderful and has everything you need. Privacy is assured and you are left to listen to the birds and absorb the wonderful view. The breeze blows gently through the French doors and you are at one with nature. Sleeping under the stars is a real possibility. Recommended highly.

So peaceful & quiet

We booked the cottage over the long weekend to "distress & unwind" from work. From the minute we drove up the drive we knew we booked the right place!! It was lovely from the outside and when we walked inside it just felt like home! It was a wonderful, blissful, peaceful, relaxing place to stay. Will definitely be going back again and recommending your cottage to all our friends needing a quick, close by escape. It was awesome thankyou.
