This custom-built home was built by the Homeowner himself. This home boasts new stainless-steel appliances, green energy-efficient HVAC, large wrap-around deck. Nature abounds through magnificent windows and bedroom balconies (upper floor) surrounding you with nature at its finest. It is nestled on 1.30 acres on a cul-de-sac. Located between downtown Jim Thorpe and JFBB ski area. Whitewater rafting located within minutes of the home. Our home is a magnet for those who enjoy adventure, as well as, tranquility. Beautiful scenery, peaceful, and quiet location. This home has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a loft, laundry room, great room with beautiful wood-burning fireplace, wrap around deck with grill and gas firepit after a scenic hike or on those snowy nights after skiing and snowboarding all day. Enjoy entertainment with a game of pool or foosball while enjoying cocktails and sitting around the bar. This is a private lake community with a beach and playground.

Beautiful nicely appointed house and property, very private and nestled in the woods.15 minute drive to Jim Thorpe proper, 25 minute drive to Hickory Run State Park, 35 minute drive to Lehigh Gorge state park. We have stayed at many vacation rentals and the Boarding Bear Chalet is up there with the best of them. Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay. Great hosts!

We had a wonderful stay! Check in was super easy and Jen was great to communicate with. The house and is beautiful and was very clean. The kitchen was very well stocked and I was easily able to cook for the family. And the property was private and so peaceful, but we were still close to things to do. I would definitely recommend this property and host!

We had 5 in our family and a 2 night stay.It was lovely!The house was beautiful. It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay. It was tucked away in the woods, private, nice and quiet. Golf Getaway with the Boys

Spent a long weekend at this great property to catch up with a few friends from high school, play golf at some of the awesome courses the Poconos has to offer, and have a relaxing home to BBQ and have campfires. This property checks all the boxes and we had a blast. Jennifer is very easy to communicate with and responsive and we look forward to future stays at her home!

We had a wonderful stay at the Boarding Bear Chalet. The house was beautiful and all the appliances worked wonderfully. We cooked multiple meals using the outdoor grill and the entirety of the kitchen appliances. The location is 5 star…the house is situated with lovely views of the surrounding landscape. Easy access to the 903 made travel to our various activities very simple. The few questions we had were quickly answered by Jen and the info provided for check in and check out was very clear (including how to handle the trash). We would love to stay here again when visiting the Poconos.

Perfect family getaway

The location was perfect for our family trip. The kids loved the lake, we spent all day there and even had the beach all to ourselves one day. Each of our 3 nights we built a fire and the surrounding was ideal. We explored the trail down the creek as well. The house was well maintained and great space for our needs.

Great property surrounded by nature

Awesome place. Loved relaxing by the fire in the evenings and having morning coffee on the deck. The house was very clean and had lots of games for the kids and adults. Close to rafting and hickory run state park but secluded and surrounded by nature.

Lovely short getaway

We had a wonderful time at the house. It is such a cool place and our kids really enjoyed the game room downstairs. Location is awesome. Weather didn't work out for us, but the house was such a nice place to just hang out and relax. Owners were super easy to reach if anything came up!

Spacious and quiet house

This house was great with spaces to sleep and common areas. We loved the beck and fire pit. The basement had many amenities for our group, and we spent our last night down there. We had a blast and would recommend this house.

Great trip! Great cabin!

Wonderful stay! Property is great! My teens loved it! It is clean and spacious. After a few days in NYC it was great to just relax in this beautiful home. The property has all you need and then some! Owners are very responsive and helpful. Don’t hesitate to reserve this place!

Big Chill Weekend

Weekend get away w 3 other couples. Beautiful home with great amenities for relaxing and making good memories with friends. Spent the day in downtown Jim Thorpe. Great shops, pubs and wine tasting. We will definitely be rebooking again.

Our stay at the Boarding Bear Chalet was magnificent , quiet and relaxing the home is gorgeous and Jennifer was awesome . 2 days was not enough will most def be going back but for a longer stay....thank you for sharing your home....

Plenty of space to relax

Between the large deck, comfy living room, long kitchen table, and incredible game room and bar downstairs, there's a ton of space to relax and have fun. The teens in particular enjoyed the basement with its pool table and bunk beds. Jen was extraordinarily quick with responses before and during our stay, even when she was on her own vacation.

Location is beautiful

The communication with the owner exceeded expectations. The house in a really nice location. The driveway was a bit steeper than I imagined but once the snow was gone it was no problem for three different types of vehicles we had. The house was as described - photos reflected exactly. Also the front steps had ice/snow melters installed which I thought was fantastic.

Wonderful Thanksgiving getaway

We truly enjoyed our three days in this home. The homeowner was very responsive to questions. Clean, peaceful, relaxing. Loved the wall of windows! Enjoyed frisbee golf at Hickory Run and Eurana while we were there. Was too cold to enjoy the outdoor firepits but fire in the fireplace made it very cozy. Would go back anytime!!

Built with love

One of the best homes we have rented in the Poconos. Lots to do just at the house alone. From fuse ball to playing pool, karaoke and a nice size fire pit. The deck gets plenty of sun to relax but has shaded areas to stay cool! Quiet area with community beach. Not far from stores either! We will definitely make our way back here!

Presidents Day long weekend

We had a fun weekend staying in this house. 6 little girls loved the bunk beds in the basement. They enjoyed exploring the trail to the creek and the bonfire was nice in the morning and evening. We went to Winterfest in Jim Thorpe. It wasn’t the snowy weekend we were hoping for as it was unseasonably warm but still a relaxing getaway.

We met at Camelback Ski Resort at The Thirsty Camel after a day of skiing and snowboarding in 2002. The Poconos holds a special place in our hearts. We decided to buy land and build our very own vacation home from the ground up. Garry is a builder and contractor in South Jersey. We both built this house with our own hands in our spare time while running businesses, starting & raising a family. We love Jim Thorpe, the location, the activities, the beautiful scenery, the wildlife, etc...We hope you enjoy and respect it as much as we do. We really hope you enjoy your stay and make special memories while staying in our home.

Location! Location! Location! Close to skiing, whitewater rafting, hiking, biking, shopping, etc...We love the outdoors! We chose our property specifically because of how scenic and quiet it is. The options are limitless. You can raft or hike during the day then come back, unwind, and relax around the firepit in the evening. The choice is yours! Our home offers the right amount of serenity in an area full of adventure, shopping in downtown Jim Thorpe, restaurants, and/or entertainment, etc...

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Our home is located on a cul-de-sac nestled in the woods where we usually see bears, deer, turkey, and fox run freely. We love the scenery and the peaceful, quiet setting. Very relaxing yet there are many activities to keep you and your family busy no matter the season.
