Idle Days Beach House

This wonderful Beach House is well furnished and equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable, worry-free holiday so all you need to do is relax and enjoy the activities and beautiful weather of Magnetic Island.

Idle Days Beach House is fully fenced and secure, perfect for young families. It is also set up as a special pet friendly home with kennel, verandahs and even a cat scratching tower if you bring along your feline friends as well.

There is plenty of covered outdoor space with front verandah (lovely for breakfast and lazing on the hammock) and the back veranda (perfect in the afternoons for a cool down beverage and dinner). The back verandah has a comfortable outdoor lounge, dining table, servery, webber, gas BBQ and full size outdoor fridge!

It really feels like a home away from home and is a only 3 minute drive from the beachfront, boat ramp, watersports, shops, hotel and cafes.

Family weekend

The property is ideally situated. Lots of room. Only the lounge area has an air conditioner so the couples wanting to close their door & have privacy had no cool air & the small fan on the wall really wasn’t sufficient. It would have been nice if some basic staples were supplied. Eg some coffee sachets & hand soap. No contact was made to us from the booking company. We had no idea who to contact. I had to google the name on the confirmation email I received & received a hit for compass property group who I rang for instructions. They did apologise for not contacting. Fortunately it was a Friday & their office was open. Overall a good stay. Just a few items need attention but for the age of the house it was ok but they are safety issues. Such as the hot water is scalding hot. Be careful with young children. The hotplate heat settings are the opposite of what you’d expect ie number 1 is the highest setting not lowest. Would stay again. Good quiet location & pet friendly. Thank you.

Great Getaway

Plenty of outdoor space both back and front areas, beautiful big fully undercover verandahs, outdoor fridge a huge bonus, excellent seating, quiet area, walking distance to Horseshoe Bay, plenty of room for 6 people (bit of a push with one small bathroom) outdoor shower was bliss, would definitely go back if it was available.

Food expired 5+years ago and we were locked out

Poor communication through staff. Early check in organised but locked out as we arrived with a baby and toddler. No phone service to call. We borrowed the neighbours phone to call manager. No apology just a simple palm off of blame. We enjoyed the house and property itself but leaving a used hand soap from previous stay doesn't seem very sanitary. Could have been a simple mistake but then we noticed basic food supplies that were out dated by 5+ years! Instantly made us feel uncomfortable and dirty, ecspecially seeing as we were staying with young kids. I imagine common sense would prevail and this would be rectified. We assume the bare minimum is acceptable for this property. We won't be back and would not recommend testing your luck

Early checkin was arranged for 12noon so we had not opened the home when you arrived earlier at 10am, but went directly there when we received your call. The soap is certainly a new soap that we supply for each new guest. We ensure the home is cleaned thoroughly between guests.

Perfect little get-away!

We had a wonderful time in this tidy little holiday home. The house was lovely and dog friendly, with a great yard for our two greyhound. The house is very well appointed and had everything we needed. The neighbouring dogs were very barky (obviously no fault of this property owner or manager) - so while we managed with our inside dogs, it made sitting outside less pleasant than it otherwise could have been.

Lovely relaxing beach house !

This property was exactly as advertised, nice and relaxing except the annoying dog next door they just kept barking constantly. Some splash of vinegar at the fence fix that!!

5 star getaway

The property is very well set out. The amenities were fabulous! Very clean house and patios. The one downside was the dogs next door and their constant barking. We feel this isn’t the properties problem which is why we still have it 5 stars.

Excellent!

Beautiful, clean, comfortable, roomy house, with many places to sit and ponder the beauty of this area. Quiet location nice walk to the beach. Excellent for our dog who gors everywhere. Thankyou, we will definately be back.

Enjoyed our stay

Very clean and comfortable place to stay. Loved the fact that we were able to take our small dog with us. Great kitchen stocked with everything we could possibly have needed during our stay. Would definitely return!

Lovely relaxing getaway

Comfortable stylish home away from home

This home was easy to settle into, and had everything we needed. Sitting down to FOXTEL at night was a bonus. Great location, we parked the car and used our bikes to get around. So easy and close to Horshoe Bay and shops. We would definitely choose to stay here again.

You get what you pay for.

The property is in a very quiet street with an array of wildlife, and a great yard for the dog. On arrival, there was no key, so we couldn't leave the house until the following morning. One aircon to cool an entire house. Uncomfortable beds, can not sit two people on the couch, small shower, and evidence of previous tenants or guests. It's ok for the price that you pay, but we'll be looking elsewhere next time we visit.

Pet Friendly pre-fab house

On the plus side, if you are travelling with pets, this place has fully enclosed yard with grass and good outdoor facilities (seating & bbq area) and is very pet friendly. The house itself is of basic design, cheaply furnished with very small bedrooms and soft saggy beds. The sofa is so uncomfortable, for example, you would not want to sit on it at all. However, it is just a few minutes to Horseshoe Bay with bars and cafes and all the outdoor activities. If you don't intend to spend much time indoors and are travelling with pets then you might want to consider this place but to be honest there are nicer and better value places on the island.
