This contemporary Mexican retreat nestled in the bustling town of Isla Mujeres, Mexico is framed against the majestic turquoise Caribbean ocean on one side, and only steps away from the island's shopping, dining and exploring on the other. Turquoise water. Endless Ocean Breezes. Warm, soft sand. Picturesque sunrises. Villa Amistad provides a spectacular setting for your next island escape.

Villa Amistad was professionally designed and built by architect Ivonne Gamio. The Villa was inspired by the designs of Barragon and Legoretta to provide comfort, luxury, privacy and lifelong memories. Situated on the Caribbean side of Isla Mujeres, guests will enjoy the rolling waves of the sea and the steady flow of ocean air. The villa was designed with graded, step-down floors, providing the feeling of walking out into the ocean.

A full time staff provides daily maid service (except Sundays), as well as pool, gardening and security services. Guests are greeted upon arrival by an English-speaking host to provide an introduction to the facilities and answer questions concerning your stay.

Although Villa Amistad has everything you would want in a vacation home, you may want to enjoy other things that the island of Isla Mujeres has to offer. You can swim with dolphins, go sailing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, or snorkeling. For an off-island excursion you can explore Mayan ruins, swim in cenotes and enjoy shopping in Cancun.

Everything about this place was wonderful and the view was stunning. The location was close to downtown which gave us access to almost anything. We arrived early and they let us place our bags in the entryway until the home was ready :). We were also given restaurant recommendations, which was appreciated.There was an issue with the upstairs bathroom, so we were unable to use this shower. There must have been a leak in the shower pan and water came out of the ceiling into the kitchen/range area. The property manager was contacted and housekeeping did their best to address this by placing a bucket on the countertop next to the range. We were unable to use the range and countertop for a bit, but we made due.Thank you,Gordon for a wonderful stay and letting us build memories in your home during Christmas time!

The photos donā€™t do this place justice. The owner was incredibly helpful, providing a long list of tips and recommendations, and even connected me with an amazing massage therapist whose studio is just a short walk from Villa Amistad. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the house manager responded quickly whenever I had questions. My favorite features were the gorgeous pool, the wonderful rooftop, and the super comfortable bed. I canā€™t wait to come back!

Premier Accommodatiions!

Villa Amistad was amazing and even better than advertised although the marketing for the place is excellent. Everything in the place was premier from the beds to the pool. You canā€™t find a better view than from the pool at Villa Amistad. Host and owner were incredible to deal with and we will be staying here the next time we come to Isla. Loved everything about our experience!

Great place, location and host

After a disaster with our 1st rental we found Villa Amisted on VRBO. Communications with the host/were flawless. The house was perfect for 6 adults. Great area quiet but close to center and the beaches. Thank you again Gordon for a wonderful place.

This property is in an amazing location. It is just far enough from downtown to be quiet and still within walking distance. The pool was great with a view of the gulf. The property manager is close by and is very friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff is very friendly and thorough. We had a great stay.

Wonderful home for our family vacation!

My family had a wonderful time staying here for our vacation. Erin was incredibly responsive when we were booking. The house manager was also very helpful with any requests we had. The home is in walking distance of so many great restaurants and attractions in the north beach. My niece and nephews loved the pool, and we all enjoyed the rooftop. I would absolutely stay here again!

Spectacular views!

We enjoyed our stay very much! Within walking distance to North Beach, but the golf cart was preferred. Very responsive property manager. We had an AC issue and it was fixed immediately. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Getaway Ocean View

Absolutely loved our stay at this stunning property in Isla de Mujeres! The balcony overlooking the ocean was breathtaking, perfect for morning coffees and sunset gazing. The cleanliness of the place was impeccable, which made us feel right at home. Loved how the owner was very thoughtful with having beach toys for the kids, waters, beach towels, and even beer on the property. It was a hassle free stay. Can't wait to come back!

Check in process very easy. We had some issues with the refrigerator but that was taken care of right away. Good communication with owner and caretaker! Thanks for the great stay!

Pool is fantastic, condition of home was like new! Location to North Beach and downtown could not be better. We enjoyed the breeze at the pool as it made the warm weather even more enjoyable! We rented a golf cart for a couple of days which was also fun to explore the south end of the island. Erin and Stacy thank you for such awesome accommodations.

Beautiful house in great location!

This is a beautiful house with great amenities in a great location. The host and manager were so hopeful communicating ahead of time for travel suggestions (airport transportation, ferry tickets, and golf cart rental) and during our stay when we had a few questions. I would highly suggest this house and we would absolutely rent it again if we return. Thanks again!

Amazing!

This is an amazing place to stay! Very short walk on the board walk into town with an ocean view the whole way! The place was clean, and had everything we needed and more! Definitely would stay here again! The only ā€œdownsideā€ was there is a lot of construction going on with the buildings surrounding the house so it was noisy during the day, but thereā€™s a lot of construction in Mexico!

Villa Amistad was wonderful...walking distance to North beach, shopping and restaurants..walking distance to ferry station...the caretaker was very attentive to our needs and helpful..the house was comfy for all ..we did not have to worry about buying water they provided big water jugs and dispenser which was nice detail...returned security deposit promptly after departure... great time!!

Gordon's house was fantastic! His property manager Stacy was very helpful and was immediate in her communications. The house was very clean and well stocked. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the location was within .5 mi of North Beach. The views of the ocean were amazing from the many different vantage points that the house offers. We would highly recommend this property for your next visit to the island!

Two Thumbs Up for Villa Amistad

Loved our weeklong stay at Villa Amistad. Convenient to the ferry, the beautiful Playa Norte beach, lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Amazing seaside views everyday right out our window. The master bedroom was lovely and the two-person shower was awesome. The fully stocked kitchen was also a bonus. Our family enjoyed the pool area and the boardwalk made it super convenient to get to/from the beach and to our favorite local hangout-The Tiny Gecko. Gordon and Stacy were super attentive. Highly recommend this spot.

Very nice villa in a very convenient location

Since we had never been to Isla Mujeres before, we decided to rent a golf cart so we could run all over the island. However, everything downtown and for the north beach area was within 5-10 minutes walk. When I am on vacation, I like to wake up naturally (no alarm clock). The villa is situated perfectly so that we woke up to a beautiful morning view every day.

Hola! A little about us... We are originally from Wisconsin and moved to Florida about 10 years ago and are working in construction and property management here.

We first discovered our little island in 1976! We were "spring breakers"- not the drinking, partying kind- we were the exploring kind of spring breakers. We traveled all around the Yucatan Peninsula. Almost at the end of our trip we stumbled on Isla Mujeres. We fell in love with the little island and have been going back as much as possible since then. The gorgeous blue/green waters and the kind, caring islanders drew us back time after time!

We were walking down Ave. Juarez and saw a "for sale" sign on the Villa Amistad- Well, it did not take us long to decide to put in an offer and a few months later became the official owners.

And...Now we can call it home and we are so delighted and excited! We are so happy to own such a Gem of a property and to be able to share it with others. It really is our little piece of Paradise!

Villa Amistad, or the Friendship House in Spanish, is located right on the Caribbean with an infinity pool and direct access to the Malecon. It is also walking distance to North Beach and Hidalgo St where all the action is. You can walk everywhere and not be dependent on golf carts or taxis!
