Not just one of the best properties we’ve stayed at, but the BEST host! Lisa was thoughtful and communicative. The home itself was comfortable and clean and decorated tastefully. The property sits right on the creek with easy access for relaxing and exploring the cool, clear waters. We’ll be back!

Perfect getaway for a writing retreat with my dog! Quiet and mostly isolated with plenty of space indoors and outdoors. The host was wonderful and communication excellent. I would definitely come back!

Spotless with a wonderful host this field house is pet and family friendly. If you enjoy beautiful scenery, wildlife, bird watching, quiet serenity coupled with excellent hospitality and care from the hostess then you will love this rental. The accommodations are made for you to kick back and chillax. Johnson City offers wine tasting, fine dining with a historical significance older than Lonesome Dove :) Treat yourself ! Get away from it all in fine style. I did…enough to return next year.

Beautiful Property

The property is furnished beautifully and has all the essentials needed. The grounds around the property are beautiful and great for exploring or relaxing with a family. The location is great and an easy drive to many surrounding places. We had a wonderful and relaxing time.

Gorgeous Property!

Amazing home on beautiful creek side property! Peaceful and quiet, such pretty sunsets. Home has everything you need and the host is super welcoming and helpful. Right out of a vacation magazine. Will definitely return!

We had a great girls getaway! The house was perfect and so relaxing, away from main roads and near a creek. The host is so helpful and responsive and the beds are super comfortable! We hope to return again one day!

Highly recommend this gem in TX Hill Country

We had a lovely stay a this comfortable, beautiful and well maintained home. Great communication with the host make check-in easy and from there everything was user friendly. We loved the cozy furnishings, special touches and serenity of the country. Thank you for the perfect little get away.

Great house in the hill country

This is a great property tucked away on a private lot in the hill country. The house is beautiful and just as advertised in the pictures. The property owners are extremely responsive and made the whole process a breeze. We had a great stay and look forward to coming back in the future!

Our favorite vacation home we've ever had the pleasure of staying in. Even better in person than the listing and photos, this is an idyllic place to relax and enjoy everything the Texas hill country has to offer. What a wonderful place to stay!

This is one of the most beautifully furnished and curated VRBO homes we have ever had the pleasure to stay in--every detail was considered and executed with style! This home offers some amazing views and is close to many Hill Country attractions like Pedernales State Park and wineries. Lisa was so friendly and in touch often by text to give us great tips on things to do in the area as well as to make sure our stay was comfortable. Just a fantastic experience overall!

Amazing HillCountry retreat

This place is AMAZING!! The owners were so helpful with any of our questions and responded to texts quickly. The decor was beautiful. The bedding was so cozy and we loved sitting on the back porch. I was so excited to see they had tea for hot tea. Everyone has coffee, but very few have tea. I highly recommend this location!!

A little slice of heaven

We headed to Austin for Spring Break and the eclipse. We ended our stay at this house for three nights and for the eclipse. The house is perfect, the host is amazing and the area is beautiful. We had plans to explore hill country but didn't end up leaving the property. So many little details inside and a gorgeous view outside, with plenty of great areas to enjoy the outdoors. Highly recommend this house.

We had an amazing time Lisa's farmhouse! The house is extremely inviting, and the beds are super comfortable. It was great having the outdoor shower so the kids could wash off after playing in the creek, and my oldest loved the privacy of being able to hang out by herself in the separated bunk-house. Communication with Lisa was great... there was a burn ban that went into effect while we were there, and she kept us aware. Everything was awesome, but the best part was the 50 acres to explore.... I was so surprised that both my daughters stayed off their electronics, and spent 80% of their time outside! We loved spending all day roaming, and then hanging out at night watching movies, and playing games... We all slept great!Thanks Lisa!

Perfect Texas getaway

Even better than I imagined. I was looking for a little house on the river to kick off summer with my family. The location and property are stunning with views of the river, texas landscape and wildlife. We took walks in the river morning and night admiring turtles, tadpoles and even all kinds of river critters. The inside of the home is beautifully curated. It is comfortable and leaves you wishing you could stay forever! A true slice of Texas Heaven.

Book it now. Peaceful riverside retreat

First: the location is outstanding-a few miles from town, down a country road that takes you beside the Flat River. The house is beautiful, comfortable and elegantly decorated. Gorgeous views from the porch and large deck facing the river. We enjoyed sitting on these in the morning/ evening. . The owners were responsive and thoughtful—leaving wine/chocolate for us (our anniversary was that weekend.) My husband is already trying to find a time for us to return (and I’m always the one who plans the trips!) If you’re lucky enough to see that this place is available, book it immediately!

Best Hill Country experience

This has been by far our best VRBO experience! Lisa and Joe are the best hosts. We were greeted with some nice treats! The home was super clean and well stocked, You have everything you could think off to cook, grill and even bake!!! The fish house was super fun too! We enjoyed being a few steps away from the creek, there is a nice pond too! We appreciate the communication we had with Lisa, she was just a text away, available at any time. We highly recommend booking this property and we are looking forward returning soon.

If you are looking for a place to unplug and enjoy nature, this is the place!

“The Field House” is situated in a picturesque location with views from every window, surrounded by hills on each side and overlooking a limestone creek. It is perfect for relaxing, sitting on the porch, & watching deer, cows, rabbits, & birds. We were able to hike on the property and in nearby Pedernales Falls State Park, which is only a mile away. Lisa was the perfect hostess, making sure we had everything our family might need and giving suggestions of places to visit. The kitchen & bathrooms are well stocked and the home is beautifully decorated, no detail overlooked. We look forward staying at the field house in the future.

Wonderful New Years Stay

The house is beautiful! It’s private and feels secluded yet you have all the modern amenities you need and are close to activities. The views from all the rooms are picturesque. It was me, my husband, and our two boys(ages 7 and 11) and everyone had a great time. We enjoyed walking to the pond on the property and sitting down by the creek. There was plenty of water in it this time of year to swim but that may fluctuate. We also hiked Pedernales State Park which is a short drive from the house and worth visiting. The hosts were easy to communicate with and I was impressed by all the special touches and nice decor throughout the house. Hope to be back again soon!

Sweet Little Farmhouse

I highly recommend this lovely little farmhouse property for a relaxing and peaceful getaway! The house was super clean and well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Lisa made check in and out a breeze and provided us with great information regarding our stay. She was very quick to respond if any issues arose. I cannot even begin to describe the property itself. It was simply breathtaking. There is so much to do during the day with short drives to Barton Springs Pool, swimming at Reimers Ranch Park and Pedernales Falls State Park, or a day trip to Enchanted Rock. We also thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the river during the day and our evenings on the porch. We hope to stay again soon!

idyllic and surreal

This stay went beyond my expectations, and from the photos alone, I already knew it would be spectacular. The main house was beautiful and charming, with every detail attended to. Don't worry if you forgot anything; most likely, they have it there for you. Walking around and exploring the property was such a great adventure. The creek is crystal clear and easy to explore. There are multiple places to sit and enjoy the views and several games to entertain everyone. There are too many spots to count to take pictures from. The second little fish house was adorable. I highly recommend this place because it is so beautiful and serene. It's hard to leave.

Relaxing vacation and great location

We had a great, relaxing vacation in a wonderful location. The Field House is perfectly located so we felt relaxed and away from crowds but within about an hour (of a beautiful drive) we could visit Fredericksburg, Enchanted Rock, Pedernales Falls State Park, and even San Antonio. But we really enjoyed just staying at the house too. It is beautiful, immaculate, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We appreciated the special touches inside of antique pieces and Lisa's incredible artwork as well as outside with the deck and patio watching the sunset and the wildlife. Lisa was an exceptional host with great communication and thinking of every detail and providing suggestions for things to do and see. She even went above and beyond offering to make special accommodations for my son who'd had an injury prior to our vacation. It was a great time and we would highly recommend for anyone wanting peace and tranquility and the beauty of the hill country.

Beautiful Home & Property, Exceptional Hostess

We had a terrific stay in this home! It was even more beautiful in person, and Lisa was a gracious hostess. We felt at home and welcome with her availability to answer questions and offer recommendations. When we arrived, there were fresh flowers on the table and thoughtful welcome gifts. It was apparent that Lisa truly enjoyed hosting us and wanted us to have a great time. The home itself was absolutely beautiful, and Lisa’s decorating style and artistic abilities were inspiring! The property was so peaceful; just what we needed for a break from our routine. We loved watching the wildlife and exploring the property. The location was also terrific - in the heart of the hill country close to Pedernales Falls State Park, wineries and shopping in Johnson City. There was so much that we wanted to do that we couldn’t fit it all in. We definitely plan to return to this first-rate destination!

An Amazing Getaway Experience

This is an amazing property. Let me say that again, this is an amazing property. The owners care about you and your happiness. They texted me upon arrival and let me know that if I had any issues or questions to let them know. Nobody is near the property which is amazing. You have a portion of the Texas Hill Country to yourself. You will feel the stress roll off. We cooked several times and the appliances, silverware, plates, you name it are high quality. Everything you need is in this house. The porch is an awesome place to see deer and other wildlife. I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel as far as cleanliness. This truly is a Texas Hill Country experience and I would highly recommend staying and enjoying this property. I'm excited to return at some point.
