We had a great trip celebrating a friend’s 50th birthday. The house’s biggest highlights were its spaciousness and proximity to the beach, making it easy to walk back and forth throughout the day. The house was clean overall, but the vents were filthy, and we had to use a broom to clean a couple of them.Unfortunately, we experienced several maintenance issues. The TV/sound system was down for the first few days, requiring a maintenance person and an IT technician. The A/C malfunctioned, leaving a couple of rooms extremely cold despite following the 72-degree rule, and an HVAC technician came near the end of our stay. The hot tub wouldn’t heat consistently, and the issue was initially attributed to user error, requiring several remote activations before a pool/hot tub technician finally came out six days into our trip. In total, four repair visits were needed, in addition to regular pool cleaning, creating more disruption than expected. The management company provides a starter package of supplies: two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, some toiletries, and one VERY small bottle of dish soap. For a house this size and the number of guests it accommodates, these supplies don’t last long. The host also couldn’t confirm basic kitchen amenities beforehand, which would have been helpful for planning.Communication with the host was very good, and they were responsive. Overall, we had a wonderful trip, but the maintenance issues and interruptions were disappointing.
