Family vacation on the beach

Excellent place to stay with something for all ages. We had a wonderful time -right on the beach. The owner was great in helping organize every step of the trip to have it go smooth. Her personal contact was great and thoughtful. The house is beautiful and everything thought of that we could want. It was unanimous that we want to return! By far the best vacation rental we have stayed at. Thank you to the family for sharing their home!

An incredible stay!

Our stay was exceptional! Leslie provided excellent planning tools well ahead of our arrival and was quick to respond to any questions before and during our stay! The house is beautiful, spacious, clean and packed full of amenities for a comfortable stay. During our stay, Shallyā€™s Seashells property management was so helpful and responsive and such a great resource for our group! It is just footsteps off the deck to a private beach and the daily dolphin and manatee sightings was a special treat. We would love to visit the North Captiva Island Sea La Vie home again!

It was more than you imagine. With a 4 year old, the water was not the big breaking waves were perfect for him to sit and play and he was able to interact with the adults. The house was beautiful. It was clean, and had anything you would need. The owner contacted us on Tuesday to make sure all was good. It does take some planning to get there and getting groceries there. The property managers are really helpful with helping get what you need. Our family would definitely stay again.

This place is simply wonderful! We spent Christmas with our family, and it was perfect for the 10 of us. Leslie (the homeowner) was SO amazing to work with. She made us feel right at home and provided us with pretty much everything we would need! The views, the wildlife, the shellsā€¦all of it was spectacular! We hope to visit again soon!

Magical Stay in Heaven

From my communication with Leslie and the rental company, to the ease of ordering groceries, and the tranquility brought on from the moment we stepped on the island this was the easiest and best vacation my family and I have ever had. I wish I had words to describe every single moment of the week we spent at Sea La Vie! The experience of having a PRIVATE beach area all to ourselves, having someone meet us at the dock and load/ unload our suitcases into the house, walking into an immaculate house that was stocked with the groceries we picked out, having a private chef in a FULLY STOCKED kitchen left my family and I not wanting anything else in a dream vacation. Each bedroom has everything you need for your stay, there are so many beach towels, and everything inside and outside the house is in wonderful condition. Leslie and her family put so much thought into everything in and around the property to ensure that you will have your dream vacation!!!

We had the BEST week ever at Sea La Vie on North Captiva Island! I would absolutely recommend this spot, the perfect location for family. We saw beautiful sunrises, so many shells, starfish, dolphins and manatees. My son and husband enjoyed fishing off shore and we used the kayaks provided. Leslie was wonderful to work with, she took care of everything and the house was beautiful and organized with everything you need for a great stay. It really doesnā€™t get much better than this, we canā€™t wait to go back to this little slice of heaven!

Beautiful beach house

Everything was great at Sea La Vie! We had everything we needed between beach items to use, the 2 golf carts and a well stocked kitchen. It was nice to have extras like the beach chairs, umbrella, games, corn hole, ice maker etc. We really enjoyed the house and it was obvious the owners want their guests to feel comfortable and at home. We would love to return sometime and recommend Sea La Vie to others wanting a nice family vacation house on beautiful North Captiva.

Beautiful

The house and location are beautiful. We rode the golf cart around the island daily and went to mangos for ice cream several times while we were there. My husband and sons caught tons of fish while my daughter and I explored with the kayaks or laid out in the sun. Communication with the owner (Leslie) was wonderful. She contacted me about a month prior to our vacation and kept in contact with me throughout. She answered all of my questions and even ordered a game I had asked about and had it at the house for our stay! North Captiva is definitely somewhere we will go again and it was one of our favorite family vacations

My family and I had a wonderful vacation at Sea La Vie. The home is perfectly positioned beachfront with almost complete privacy. The water is full of sea life and beautiful shells. The logistics of an island vacation where a quick trip to a grocery store is impossible were made easy by the owners recommendations. Grocery delivery by Debbie was extremely helpful. The two golf carts provided also gave us the ability to explore the island and even pick up a paddle board for the week from Boats n fun. Five stars for Sea La Vie!

Incredible beach front property, even better host!

Iā€™ve been traveling to North Captiva for many years and this is one of the best properties Iā€™ve stayed at. The house is beautiful, very carefully maintained, and provided ample accommodations for our entire family, adults and children alike. This would also be a great place for a first time visitor to North Cap because of the knowledge the host, Leslie, openly shares to help make your trip more enjoyable. Planning for and traveling to North Captiva is more involved than a standard beach vacation, but Leslie was there to provide excellent recommendations every step of the way. From car services and ferry schedules, to food and drink recommendations, anything and everything you can think of, Leslie had it covered. Her communication was excellent before, during and after the trip. We highly recommend Sea La Vie for your next vacation!

It is a beautiful house with amazing views including picturesque sunrises and dolphin sitings right off your own private beach. Leslie, the owner, couldn't be a better host. Very easy to communicate with and extremely helpful and informative. All of her recommendations were spot on from getting to the island, to groceries, etc. Tortuga, the management company, also made the arrival and departure process go very smoothly and was available if we needed anything while on the island. Paradise about sums it up! Would love to go back!

Unbelievable Home, Nothing Short of Spectacular

I could write volumes, and volumes, and volumes about how special this home is. The pictures online capture it accurately but don't capture the special feel on this property. We traveled with our big family of 7 with kids ranging in age from 3 to 19 and had a spectacular time. The home is clean, well-equipped, and has everything you should need. The only part of the experience that was better than the home, was the communication with the owner and the management of the property. Leslie (owner) and the Tortuga team are without doubt the best! It is by far the best experience we have had with the owner and management team at any VRBO we have stayed at, and we have stayed at a few. Thank you Leslie, and Tortuga. GREAT GETAWAY!

Best vacation EVER!!

We all had a fantastic, relaxing vacation! We were two families with adult kids and could not have asked for more. The beachfront location was perfect, the amazing home had everything we could possibly need and more. The great communication from Leslie, the home owner throughout the booking and leading up to our stay was spot on!Leslie alleviated all the stress of traveling to the island. She offered a variety of options and recommendations for transportation to/from the airport, how to purchase groceries to ensure they get delivered to the island and things to do during our stay. The house had everything anyone would need. It was very clean, had plenty of room for everyone and very comfortable for all of us. The private beach right at the house was great and we soaked up the sun, relaxing there each day watching the dolphins and manatees go by. We took in incredible sunrise views from the beach at the house and headed to Sunset beach across the way to catch the beautiful sunsets as well! I canā€™t say enough wonderful things about our trip to capture it all. I highly recommend the location, the home and Leslie Cowan, who you can trust will ensure youā€™re well informed of everything youā€™ll need to know before spending a week on North Captiva Island. Wishing I could score this with at least 10 stars!!!!

AMAZING

What an amazing property! We spent a wonderfully relaxing week in Sea La Vie. The property was clean and beautifully decorated with a private beach right out the front door. Lots of things to do such as collecting shells, walking the beaches and the preserve, playing cornhole, riding bikes and of course watching dolphins swim right out front. Plan on cooking in the well-stocked kitchen or grilling fresh seafood that you picked up in Matlacha. Rest well on very comfortable king sized mattresses. The owner and the property management company provide excellent directions on how to prepare for island living. I recommend following their directions to the letter. Travel with Pine Island Taxi and have them schedule a stop at Island Seafood Market in Matlacha. Island Girl Charters for the trip across the bay. Thanks again for a wonderful trip. We look forward to returning to your property as soon as we can manage.

We have been traveling to North Captiva as a guest for several years as our family also has a another home here. We fell in love with the unique paradise qualities of the island. After many times of house hunting, we found our perfect home. For us, being able to walk out our front door and step directly on the beach is the best retreat. We are a family of 6 and now 3 of our 4 kids are adults. We are so thrilled to be able to gather here as a family and are excited to be able to share this home with others.

This property just stood out from the rest. Why else come to an island than to have unobstructed views of the beautiful beach and serene waters. We felt right at home with how open and bright the home feels. There is a comforting and peaceful essence to the home and you can not find a better view from any level. Walking out your front door and right to the beach was a top priority. Plus, I loved the island pink color!

Unique to our part of the island is the private beach. Here no one can camp out other than your group. We also have dolphin and manatee sightings almost daily. We take pristine care of our home and you get a very safe and well appointed home and top shape golf carts.
