Great cabin, nice hot tub, large fire pit, excellent WIFI, caves, creeks, trails and a pond!!
A peaceful cabin retreat nestled on 95 acres of private woodland property. This locally-sourced oak-sided cabin offers natural serenity and is the perfect place to get away. This property boasts a totally private hot tub and fire pit area surrounded by acres of exposed rock and woods. Enjoy a relaxing covered front deck or the walk in the woods on our hiking trails. Discover exposed rock overhangs and a woodland pond with plenty of fish. This region is known for its fantastic biodiversity.
This newly renovated cabin consists of two bedrooms, a living room with a smart TV, Wi-Fi and a DVD player. Enjoy a well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom (all linens included). One bedroom has a queen-size bed. The other bedroom has a double/full-size bed plus a twin-size bed. The shabby chic décor complements the cabin’s slate and bamboo flooring. The space is warm and inviting, clean and accommodating. It is perfect for a romantic getaway for two or for a memorable friends and family gathering. A fantastic choice for parents visiting Ohio University and Hocking College students or visitors to the Hocking Hills region.
There are so many wonderful things to do in the area. Take a left out of the long driveway and the road leads directly to Athens, Ohio and Ohio University (13 minute drive). The city of Athens features eclectic dining and features 22 pubs in the energetic uptown area alone. Ohio University is one of the most beautiful and oldest college campuses in the United States.
Take a right out of the driveway and arrive (23 minute rive) at Ash Cave in the gorgeous Hocking Hills State Park. Be sure to check out High Rock Adventures and other attractions while in the Hocking Hills area.
Cross the street and enter into Waterloo Wildlife Area featuring thousands of acres of nature’s bounty, fishing and public hunting. The historic and haunted Moonville tunnel is a nearby for a memorable experience. Horseback riding is available in the area at Uncle Bucks riding stable. Visit gorgeous Lake Hope Lodge for hiking, canoeing and an incredible dining experience (you have got to try the smores).

Everything was great! The property was exactly as advertised. It’s a pretty small and simple cabin, but 3 adults and 1 child never felt cramped. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and walking the onsite trails. Perfect location for both Athens and Hocking Hills. WiFi worked great for streaming. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation!

Came to explore Hocking Hills & visit son at OU. Loved the trails on the property to take my 2 dogs instead of taking to HH, it is very well cleared and signed! Found the property & house well maintained and clean. I was able to cook meals there, so kitchen does have what you need! I appreciated the covers for the furniture, I had brought with me but was able to just use what was there. After hiking the hot tub was so nice. We will definitely stay here our next visit!

This is our second stay at this property. We enjoyed the porch,hot tub, fireplace and especially the fishing pond! This time the cabin was in need of a deep clean; lots of dust and dead bugs on the walls and fixtures and in kitchen drawers. The kitchen was lacking basic items such as spoons for 4 people, complete measuring cup set, clean fridge, cutting board and a sharp knife .Overall we enjoyed our stay and had fun exploring the Hocking area. We would return but would bring our own pillows and kitchen items.

Cozy Cabin

Our family of four stayed at the cabin for a week. It was clean and comfortable. The pond was picturesque. The fire pit and hot tub in the back were great in the evenings. We would absolutely return.

The property was pretty. Much as described. It was was perfect for our get away with dog to Hocking Hills. We did lose power in middle of night do to storm for about 12 hrs. Bet Lauren and Andy kept us updated and checked to see if we needed anything. Overall would diffenitly recomend if your looking for a place stay in the area with your dog.

Needed vacation

Very comfortable. Had everything we needed. All the info is right there. Great hot tub and fire pit. Beautiful scenery. Very serene. Everything you need to buy is not far away. Very clean and homey. My mom, sister and i really enjoyed it. Didn't want to leave.

Girls trip

It’s a cute little cabin! It was perfect to come home to after we spent most of our time hiking and exploring Hocking Hills! We didn’t expect to have neighbors so close (it is the host other property) but in the end we were not bothered by their group! But you could hear their music if they played it loud (just for closeness reference) The host has lots of instructions laid out for travel tips, places to eat, so that was awesome! We had no issues at all.

We really loved this cabin. It was so was so beautiful!serene and peaceful, a far cry from our regular daily lives. Slept like a baby each night and the sounds of the bullfrogs was so beautiful! A bit of driving involved to get to places but the serenity of this place is worth it and the scenery on the drives is amazing!

Nice relaxing weekend

I rented the cabin for a weekend when my daughter recently graduated from a nearby college and it was great. We grilled steaks, enjoyed the hot tub, and spent time watching frogs in the pond. Everything was clean and neatly organized. Thank you.

Lauren and Andy Dick moved to the Athens, Ohio area in 1994 to attend Ohio University and Hocking College. It was here that we fell in love with each other and the Southeastern Ohio Region. In 2000, we purchased our first beautiful four acres adjacent the to the Waterloo Wildlife and Research Area. Over the past 19 years we have continued to expand our ownership of more property in this magical place. As of May 2017, we celebrated our acquisition of additional acreage now totaling 81 acres.
It has been our dream to share the peace and serenity of Waterloo Woods with others who desire to get away from it all and rejuvenate. The newly renovated cabin on our property, as see here on VRBO, has made that dream a reality for us. We take great pride in assuring our guest stay in a private, clean, serene and welcoming environment.
