This is the perfect place to be! The wildlife, hot tub, cozy bed, and various sitting/viewing areas made this a great vacation spot. We enjoyed the sunrise by the sauna and sunset in the hot tub each day. Beautiful! Proximity to Sooke and hiking trails along the coast were great too.

Hello Jami, thank you for your kind words and 5* review. You hit all of the highlights ;-) The cottages were created as a place to relax * renew * reset in the peace and quiet that nature provides. I am happy to read you enjoyed all the little areas each with their own amenity (the viewing deck at the sauna, the covered soaking tub with a different view et.) and thanks for mentioning the cosy bed (organic and handmade in Victoria!) "Jami, should you ever travel back this way, please know you will always be welcome here." Warmly, Melodie

We stayed here for my husband’s 50th bday and couldn’t be happier with our experience. A gorgeous little haven overlooking the ocean, Sitka cottage was just what the doctor ordered for a serene getaway. They’ve really thought of everything, with so many thoughtful little details, from cozy slippers to natural bath products to beer in the fridge upon arrival. The view is incredible, the beds comfy, the sauna and hot tub are perfect. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Walk to the lighthouse for stunning views and be sure to enjoy breakfast or lunch at Shirley Delicious cafe.

Hello Aaron, thank you for your kind words and the 5* review! I am happy you enjoyed the creature comforts in the cottage and I hear you about the bed. It is always a tricky thing isn't it? And truth be told, we did opt for the firmer side of medium softness for the topper. Top tip? If you ever are back this way, please ask me to remove the Fawcett Mattress 4" topper because under it there are 2 single Fawcett Mattresses! The one nearest the bathroom is soft, and the one against the wall is hard! We made it a 'his and hers' situation for our personal stays because even Sean and I, after all these years, still can't agree on what a firm mattress is! Thank you Dimitri for your thoughtful review and for choosing to celebrate your 20th anniversary out at the cottages! The big TV question, oh my ... the TV was a talking point for most of the time during the renovation; ultimately we opted for the 'bring your own device' approach, the strong wifi can handle it. I am glad the cottage and the local attractions (beaches, forest hikes, and our growing micro brewers/distillers) kept you happily occupied. You were wonderful guests and will always be welcome here.
