Love to ski? Like to hike? Own a bike? Do you grill? Can you identify birds by a tweet or twitter? If you answered yes to any or all of those questions, we have the place for you. Welcome to Ski Hive! This lovely one-level home is centrally located in Canaan Valley and provides easy access in every season. Winter visitors will LOVE the short walk to the high-speed lifts at Timberline Mountain. No need to look for a parking space or a locker to store your really is that close! In every season Ski Hive provides a central location for anything Tucker County. It is a short drive to Davis, Thomas, Blackwater Falls and Canaan Resort. Dolly Sods, White Grass and Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge are all just a hike, bike, or short drive away. At the end of the day return to "the Hive" to relax and unwind. A well-stocked kitchen makes meal prep easy and the lovely screened in porch makes mealtimes a pleasure. In winter gather around the fireplace to recap the day's events. Year-round scan the stars from the outdoor hot tub. Ski 're going to like it here!

Could use an mudroom or inside area to gear up, even access to the garage maybe. Great kitchen except the stove takes for ever. All utensils are there. Over all pretty clean, could use a deep clean, under beds, check drawers, ect. We would stay again. good value for the $

We did our best to keep the boots on the front mat but it was crowded.Also, it would be great to have a path and stairs up to the Hotel parking area.

nice place

I loved making a fire in the wood stove after a day of skiing. Although there weren't any pictures of the bathrooms, they were perfectly fine. Kids loved the hot tub. I would definitely come back.

Good location, but tough walk (up a steep incline out the back to parking lot) Well stocked kitchen, lots of linens. Great Stay

Get mountain home

The house was well organized for our crew and we lucked out and had lots of snow. The home has all you need to enjoy time on the mountain. The lady who plowed the driveway is awesome. We rotated our cars every night in the driveway and the new morning the snow was cleared. Thank you!

Reviewer Comments: My family and I travel down to Canaan Valley every year in October and this house was probably one of the cleanest houses we’ve stayed in. The layout was open and fit our large group very well. The hot tub was very large and was able to fit 5 of us comfortably. My daughter enjoyed being able to watch the deer eat in the front yard from the living rooms large windows. Very nice property for a relaxing weekend away.

The beds were super, there were plentiful comfortable places for people to sit, the appliances were up-to-date, there were puzzles and games, everything was clean, the house was well appointed, the lot was spacious, and there was plenty of space for parking. Thanks to Best of Canaan for finding the perfect rental in Timberline for our group,

Plenty of beds to spread out, good kitchen and dining table, comfy living area, incredible hot tub (feels very clean and new), and being walking distance from Timberline is truly amazing! The couches/chairs/linens could have been slightly higher quality, or decor a bit lighter and brighter in general, but otherwise we had no complaints. Very quiet neighborhood and peaceful area, and only a 15 minute drive from the big city (Davis) for food and essentials.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was wonderful, really felt more like a home. The house had every known gadget, pot, pan or utensils you could ever desire. Nice selection of beds with different levels of firmness. Overall the place was really clean. Our only recommendation to the owners, would be to replace the two black chairs in the living room with oversized recliners. Would be happy to purchase this house if you ever want to sell.

There is ample space for a large family to spread out and each member to find a cozy space to call their own. We highly recommend a stay at the Ski Hive! We will definitely return.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Perfect cabin layout for a midsized group. We had 7 people spread out over 4 rooms. The family room kitchen area was the center of the cabin and made gathering for meals, games, and TV fun. Fireplace very nice!!! Stocked well with pots and pans and casserole dishes. We only ate out once. Easy access to the slopes. Not exactly a ski in and ski out but just a short walk out the back door and across a parking lot gets you to the lifts. Would definitely recommend and would rent the Ski Hive again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Second year in row renting this property.We love this house so much. The layout is perfect for us. Well furnished kitchen. Very relaxing and quiet neighborhood. The hot tub was only Luke warm, upon checkout the office informed us that we should of called them, so they could reset it. The hot tub cover had mildew on it and smelled moldy. The television is outdated and really needs to be upgraded to a smart tv. We had plenty of apps we could use, but no way to access the television. Living room furniture is not very comfortable. All in all a great vacation. Really want to rent this house again next year too. Anyway we can find out if any of are concerns were addressed?

Our Favorite Rental so far

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at numerous places for skiing and hiling in Canaan Valley, but this was our favorite place so far! It is roomy, comfortable, and has all the amenities that you would need for your stay. We were impressed with all the dishes, pans, spices and other essentials. It may be a small thing, but we loved it. There was a hairdryer in each of the bathrooms, and a fan and each of the bedrooms so we could utilize so we didn’t need to bring our own from home. I just really think of the little things as well as the big things that you may need on your vacation!!
