We had a wonderful time in Big Bear...we love the little cottage house and its location.
We love this cottage..its location...the view...the winter weather can be a challange...you must have the cables or chains to get into the cottage if you want to avoid accident
Cabin was decent, but not if you enjoy warm showers...
The cabin was comfortable and had plenty of pros: cozy, roku TV, wifi, complimentary shampoo & soaps, board games, decent kitchen, and clean towels & sheets. But, our first night was a bit rough... My son started taking a shower and was only in it for about 10 minutes when it ran out of hot water. I then tried texting the rental company to see if there was a trick to get more hot water. While waiting, my wife plugged a hair dryer in to dry my son's hair, and the electricity in the bathroom, kitchen, and porch lights shut off because it blew the breaker. I had to climb around the banks along the cabin in the dark to locate the breaker panel and turn it back on. I then got a response from the rental company about the lack of hot water stating that it was common in Big Bear to only have a few minutes of hot water because of the freezing pipes. It wasn't freezing outside, and it definitely was not common at other cabins we've stayed at to not have enough hot water for more than one shower at a time. If you have a family of four like I do, it was not a sufficient amount of hot water for all of us to be able to take showers easily. We had to take two showers in the morning and two showers at night, separate them by at least an hour, and turn the water off while soaping up... definately not convenient. Other than these set backs, the rest of our stay was good.
