Love our Happy Hideaway

This is our third year coming back for shutdown and unwind time at the lake. Our family loves the rustic charm, the warm feeling (and the portable AC unit!), the location and the proximity/access to the beach. From swimming in the lake to lounging on the deck, swinging from the multiple swings or hammock, playing board games in the kitchen, enjoying a beautiful outdoor meal off the grill, s'mores on the camp fire and always having time to find a comfy spot to read a book there is something for all of us to enjoy and so many ways for us to connect. We love it here and the hosts and owners are top notch on all fronts.

Really enjoyed our stay. Only issue was lack of air conditioning during a heat wave but we were aware of the lack of air conditioning when we booked.

Quiet Retreat

Enjoyed this pretty very much. A relaxing stay, with things to do at the nearby towns. Clean property, fully equipped with what we needed.

Quiet & beautiful cottage

We felt relaxed from the moment we opened the door - the cottage was exceptionally clean and pleasant music was playing. The cottage was in a perfect location for us - close to Bayfield, Grand Bend & Goderich. We highly recommend this place.

Happiest of Hideaways

This was our return visit to Happy Hideaway in what is becoming a yearly vacation for our small family. We really love our time there together. Swimming, relaxing, enjoying delicious meals, camp fires with s'mores, hammock time, movie nights, cards and board games, visiting the local towns, getting local farm fresh eggs at the end of the road; there's no shortage of things to do and it's the perfect place to do nothing at all. Our daughter loved it, our dog loved it, we loved it. Looking forward to next year already.

a relaxing week

it was excellent. only suggestion is to tell the guests to bring water shoes so its easier to deal with the small rocks when you go into the patter

Hidden Gem

This cottage was a hidden gem. My husband and I needed a place to stay while our home was being renovated and it was the perfect choice. The cottage is located between Grand Bend and Bayfield and was close to several wineries and breweries. This lovely little cottage was in a private subdivision and was cosy, comfortable and extremely quiet. The cottage was clean and some basic things like toilet paper and salt and pepper were provided, although you do have to pay extra for linens. The beach is just a short walk away. The host was awesome about keeping in touch to ensure that we had everything we need.

A Study In Thoughtfullnes

A beautiful home right near the stunning sand beach. The amenities, nice shower, yummy hotel bedding, decor and cottage feel with serious touch of warmth and class. Close to Grand Bend and other great small towns. Unforgettable fire on the beach. There was a firepit on the lawn, lawn chairs, hammock, saucer swing and more. Kids would love it but I loved it with a book. Large outdoor dining area with string lights for Magasine worthy outdoor dining. Outdoor shower and wrap around porch. You won't want to leave....

Fantastic Long Weekend

What a fantastic long weekend in a sweet little beach side community! The cottage was great: plenty of room, clean, three bedrooms, two bathrooms electric fireplace, comfy couch, and great shower with good water pressure (not to mention a beach washoff shower outside). Lots of extras and linen service available. Loved the big windows in the living room and especially appreciated having a little floor space to do yoga in front of the fireplace looking out at the trees in the front yard. The beach was perfect. You can walk and walk in either direction with tons of great rocks mixed in with the soft sand. Especially loved the gorgeous beach entry path. Great location close to Bayfield, Grand Bend, and Goderich for day trips, shopping and restaurants. Will come back!

Lovely cottage steps from Lake Huron beach

This property is as advertised, if not better. The hosts are very accommodating and the space offers an example of a relaxing stay. The hosts even left a gift for our dog, which was a great touch! Why travel to the Caribbean when a beach like this is on offer just steps away from the back porch? This cottage is well equipped with everything you’ll need, only personal essentials are required to bring. With plenty of space on offer, our family of 4 plus dog had more than enough room. Our teenagers travelled to the Grand Bend strip on one of our days, which is only 15 mins away, while the parents had some time to soak up the tranquility of the property and the amazing beach. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. If you’re considering renting this property, do it! You won’t be disappointed.

Great spot and nice cottage!

This was a great location with an amazing beach a short walk. It was a pleasure staying here and would book again! Enjoyed the down time and the place was outfitted with everything we needed.
