You’ll find By George an easy and comfortable place to stay, with its wood-lined walls, working fireplace, large flat-screen TV and cozy sofas. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room bring you panoramic views west and north to Cascade Head—you’ll even enjoy ocean views from your dinner table! The fully equipped kitchen sports a breakfast bar and all you’ll need to dine in. Dining out is a convenient option, too—from your location in north Lincoln City you’re an easy walk or drive to lots of restaurants, from beer and burgers at McMenamins to world-class seafood at the nearby Kyllo's Seafood and Grill. The two bedrooms have ocean views and you’ll be lulled to sleep by the sound of surf. An upstairs loft has a lovely curved wood ceiling, sofa seating and another flat-screen TV for added entertainment. There’s even nightlife five blocks away at the Chinook Winds Casino! It’s a crooked little house so if you’re looking for everything to be perfect, this won’t be the place for you. The view makes up for the little bit of crookedness. It’s comfortable…oh and the fireplace is amazing!

We enjoyed our stay in this 100 year-old home. The view is exceptional with immediate beach access down a flight of stairs. The location in North Lincoln city gives ready access to grocery stores and restaurants as well as the outlet mall. The cupboards are fully stocked with dishes, glassware, pots, and pans and utensils.The challenge, of course, is that this is an older home with uneven floors, some dated appliances and lumpy mattresses. The end result, however, is a home for 4 to 6 people that provides very good value. This is our second day over the last two years.

The photos on the listing for this property are misleading. The windows hadn’t been cleaned out on months and pretty much obscured the ocean view. So much for having paid for an ocean view house. I did ask the host to get the windows cleaned, to which she committed will be done the same day only for her to message me saying they can’t get cleaned & asking me to enjoy the other amenities of the property.Why would I enjoy anything else when I paid only for an ocean view property?It’s pathetic to ask the host to get the windows cleaned which should automatically be done every time before a new guest arrives.The bedding was super old and had this odd smell.One of the bedsheets had an old dried out blood stain too.Overall, not worth the price they charge especially when they skimp out on basic cleaning

Thank you for staying with us and for sharing this feedback — I’m very sorry your stay fell short of expectations. Due to the home's two-story design, cleaning the exterior windows between every stay is not feasible, as it requires specialized equipment and a significant amount of time. Because the property is directly exposed to the ocean elements, guests may occasionally notice a light film or residue on the exterior glass. That said, we are diligent about maintaining the windows on a regular schedule and make every effort to stay ahead of the effects of the coastal environment. We take great pride in the home's presentation and continually work to keep it looking its best for our guests. Our housekeeping team does thoroughly wash all linens between stays to ensure cleanliness, but I'm sorry to hear you encountered staining and odors on the bedding. That certainly can happen as they age and I will be sure to have them replace all affected bedding. Thank you again for the candid feedback — please message us through Vrbo if you’d like us to review anything further from your stay.

Other than beach access and location, this place was a major disappointment. We stay at lots of places on the coast often, including charming old places but this place is in serious need of maintenance.*several burnt out bulbs, including outdoors which is a safety concern*entire heavy metal fire place front crashed to the floor in the living room, broken from the brick - reported and no response*upstairs television never worked - reported and no response *no smart televisions *inadequate water pressure throughout home - perhaps a leak?We questioned the entire stability of the home, given the visible foundation issues and the obvious slanting Inadequate:*supply of dish soap - both to wash by hand and for machine - woefully inadequate for 6 person rental for three nights

Relaxing getaway

Everything was exactly like the pictures. The house was clean and the property manager was very responsive. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could ever need which was nice so we didn't have to eat out every meal.

If I were VRBO, I’d get this Meredith property off my webpage. It is FAR from how the photos display it and once I booked through VRBO, I was contacted by Meredith Properties who actually own or manages (mismanages) the property. Too many shortcomings to list. I think the only completely true statement in the description is the view—it’s great. Notice how there are few pictures of the interior… there’s a reason! No idea how any reputable company would ever admit that they are associated with the house without a BIG disclaimer helping the public know why they’ve chosen not to update the house in 50 years. Perhaps plan to wreck it soon and rebuild it so don’t want to put a nickel into it? Embarrassing.

We really enjoyed our brief overnight stay. This would be a terrific place to watch a winter storm roll in. And the beach that you get to so easily is gorgeous.

Rating against price is 5 stars. The place is severely not level as in about 1.5 foot drop or more across the house. The place is a little run down. The place was clean and as advertised with great location and beach. So I got what I expected and paid for. Added bonus with unlevel floors you don’t even need that first glass of wine as you will have that tipsy feeling when you first walk in the door. Instant vacation feeling from the first step.

Wonderful views

House is older (there were some cool historical photos of it on the walls) but we found it to be a charming and cozy place. Amazing views of the beach and sunsets, and a path straight down to the beach from the property. The only downside was the kitchen pots/pans really were in rough shape and need to be replaced (nonstick coating was really chipped).

Beach Getaway

View was amazing and a great place to relax. The twin beds downstairs are hard as rock, but Bed upstairs very comfortable. Stairs are steep and recommend caution for those with mobility concerns. Living space very comfortable and and so nice having a fire in the evening. Enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

One night stay in Lincoln city

We came to enjoy the beach on a sunny day. The view from the window was spectacular and basic facilities were all present. Although it was a good stay but the property could definitely upgrade some things like VCR player had no available videos to play. Also, Chromcast TV would have been nice. Overall great stay 😇

It would have been nice to have instructions for tv. That was frustrating. Maybe a few more products such as shampoo, etc. pretty bare minimums.But we made a run to store and got what we needed. We all enjoyed our stay and the property because I realized I was getting an older house and it was rustic and cozy.I wish checkouts weren’t so early!! Most are 11:00 am or 12:00 noon that I’ve stayed at. And a 3:00 pm checkin would be nice. But overall, we had a good time.Dishwasher and fridge could use some repair.

Fabulous ocean views

So very cold and rainy that we spent most of our time in the house but the views and cozy feeling of the house made it worthwhile. Spacious home with a kitchen that was very well stocked. We found that the upstairs bedroom had very steep stairs so we slept in the twin beds most of the time, and yes, the house is slanted. Overall we had a wonderful time there (we are in our 70s, that explains our problem with the steep stairs).
