Great location! The beach access was nice but know the last few feet to get to the sand is rocks and they are slippery with the sand on them. The bedrooms were great size and deck / firepit were awesome too

Fun, comfortable home with great beach access. We enjoyed the hot tub every evening at sunset. Beds were comfy and there was an ample supply of towels, blankets and pillows. Fully outfitted kitchen with every type of cooking equipment available. Our small family had a splendid time and will definitely be back in the future.

Great Getaway

Loved this house! Great location. There’s a little more wear and tear on the house than the pictures show, but overall it’s a beautiful and comfortable house.

Fabulous Coastal Fall getaway!

We loved everything about the location! The upstairs was the coziest, but downstairs had gorgeous view. Everyone loved it! Perfect for our down-sized Thanksgiving with nearly adult kids.

If I could buy this house and live here, I would. Tastefully updated, surprisingly spacious, and steps from a glorious and empty beach. This was everything we wanted in a vacation rental!

Property was in poor condition. In the children's room (we had 2 and 3 year olds) there was a AC socket wall plate completely off, exposing its power connections. An unsafe home for young children! We'd brought AC socket covers, but obviously didn't expect an entire wall socket plate to be missing. One of the master bedroom shades was so tangled up it was stuck 2/3 open and sideways; two of the main screen doors were unable to fully close and had large openings where the screens had holes --- a problem when you are at the Oregon "mosquito" coast. In the first five minutes and needing some coffee we discovered there were no coffee filters --- with the nearest grocery store back another 10 miles away. Upstairs there were broken pieces of toy parts that should have been found and tossed for anyone renting with small children. The master bedroom shower had a continuous drip that pooled up and then noisily drained every 10 minutes and its bottom door seal to prevent water escaping to the floor was literally hanging half off and couldn't be put back on. Blackberry vines hadn't been cut back so they were overhanging the only deck path down to the shoreline --- and just at the height of our 3 year old. In essence a home using photos likely 5 years old or more, and requiring a major cleaning (cobwebs under the living room furniture and more crap and Cheetos which had probably been there for a year). Given a check-in time of 4pm and a check-out of 10am nets our last VRBO booking.

Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback. I’m very sorry your stay fell short, especially with the safety and cleanliness issues you encountered. I’m sorry the missing outlet plate was cause for concern, that is unacceptable. We’ve spoken to the maintenance team about them not replacing it right away when the broken one was removed and confirmed this mistake will not be made again. They have since placed a new cover on that outlet. We will also have the maintenance team measure for a new blind and inspect the shower to ensure the drip and door seal issues are remedied promptly. I can confirm they have since replaced the screen doors and contacted the landscaper about cutting back the vines. The housekeeping team has been made aware of their forgetting to place coffee filters and will restock the supply promptly. They will also be inspecting the toys and removing any broken pieces. Again, I'm sorry your stay fell so short of perfect. Please know that we are using your feedback to improve.

Beautiful unique home, close to beach

Everything was great about the house. I loved how it was decorated. The porches and view. The only issue was a few maintenance issues that should e been addressed.

I give this a 2.5/3 star because while it is great beach access and spacious there were many issues. The pictures online are not current and deceptive of the current conditions which makes the price we paid OVER PRICED! It looked clean on the surface but upon further inspection it was pretty dirty and the carpets were not vacuumed, the floors were dirty(my soxs were black on bottom after 15 minutes of arrival). I moved the black area rug in the kitchen space to mop to find broken and sinking floor tiles. The kitchen pots and pans are cheap, old and everything stuck even with Pam spray. There was no tupperware to keep leftovers. No bake ware except a flat sheet. No scrubs to wash dishes (we had to buy some). The bathrooms are updated but there were ants in the master and one of the blow dryers does not work. The other bathroom sink leaks at the base of the faucet. The backyard area had tall grass creating a fire hazard with the fire pit. The stair access to the front yard and the one to the beach access trail was overgrown making it hard to get thru. The dryer takes at minimum 3 hours to dry 1 small load ( we had to keep rerunning it once it shut off). The upstairs couch is filthy and all stained and one of the chairs had a broken leg and was sitting in the corner upside down (rather than fixed or removed). And, the neighbors across the street sat on their deck and watched our every move and made it difficult to enjoy staying here.

The housekeeping team has been alerted to the cleanliness concerns you raised, especially regarding the flooring and couch, and will perform deep cleaning in those areas. The damaged kitchen tile, the broken chair, and the hair dryer will be repaired or removed. A technician will service the dryer and the leaking sink, as well. We will implement measures to treat the ant issue and speak to the landscaper about clearing the tall grass, fire-pit area, and overgrown stair access to the yard and beach trail. Thank you again for the detailed feedback — we’ll use it to make immediate improvements for future guests.

We loved the location. The hot buttons were hard to function but maintenance came and helped out.

Bedding was very clean.Hot tub bottoms worn so hard to function but maintain team came to help a little bit after. One electrical outlet in the kids room was missing a cover plate. You need to bring oil and other cooking material like foil and plastic wrap. The location is great. Kids had fun.

Great beach access with lots of inside space very clean.

Great location! Plenty of space and outdoor room. Was very clean. Would stay again but some issues need resolved especially for the price. Dishes were chipped, baking sheets and skillet were in bad shape. Had a mold smell upon entering but cleared out when windows were opened. Kitchen floor sagged and mold in the corner of the bathroom ceiling.

Needs some TLC

I stay in VRBO’s often, this property needs some work. The location was nice, close to a beach, and Newport is a great place to visit. The home is in need of maintenance and looks very warn out. It was not very clean, lots of dust and spider webs and there was a smell outside by the hot tub that was so bad we couldn’t stand to be out there. Most of the furniture was falling apart and in poor shape. I will say the beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean. There was sand toys for the kids and that was nice. This property would not be appropriate for elderly or handicapped.

I guess pets are allowed

The rental is nice and clean Thank you. Unfortunately we will not be staying here again and cannot recommend this rental to those who are allergic to pets. The rental was advertised as No Pets Allowed. We assumed we would be safe. Several in our party could not sit on the couch as it was obviously used by pets in the recent past. Luckily we were only in the rental for two nights. We would not have stayed a 3rd night had we intended to. This made for a fairly uncomfortable stay for at least two in our group. We thought you should know.

Great stay and great customer service

The house was great and loved up to the pictures. When we were close to the property, I was logging into the guest portal and the access code was not displaying, even though it did the day before. I was frustrated and a little panicked, as by this point we had driven 3 hours and both my small kids had thrown up in their carseats due to carsickness. Anyway, at 4:15 pm I called the customer service line and got a real person right away!!! They were so kind and said it was probably a glitch of some sort, fixed it right away, and it was fixed. I had my access code and all was good. The house was great for families, but would also be so fun for a friend group, or even one person. Great overall experience.

Nice Place… but no cell service

After a rocky time trying to find the house, we had a nice weekend. The main issue was no cell service at the house. Once we were checked in, and connected to wifi, it was fine. But the gps link from VRBO did not take us to the right house, and we had to drive 10 mins to get cell service to figure out the issue. Then we went back and could not find the lock box in the dark and again had to drive 10 mins to somewhere with cell service to work it out. It was a dark and stormy Oregon Coast night, so that did not help either. Anyway, to prevent confusion for future guests, be prepared for no cell service at first and bring a flashlight if showing up in the dark. Or, maybe the owner could put a motion light outside and let people know in the ad about the cell service issue. If they mentioned it we did not see it, so possibly our bad. Beyond that, the house was nice enough, the beach access was lovely, and we enjoyed the hot tub.

Great Location But Clearly Not Maintained

I was going back and forth between giving this rental 3 stars or 4 stars. On one hand, we enjoyed our stay. The house is one in from the beach and there are private stairs that take you down. It is located just off 101 but we didn’t really notice any noise. The rental was nicely decorated and had mostly comfy furniture; the beds were slightly uncomfortable but your own bed is always going to be the best so I can’t fault that. The hot tub was over-chlorinated but was still lovely and is clearly being upkept. The location was great, about 10 minutes south of downtown Newport and 20 minutes from Yachats. What we thought to be quirks of a beach house rental turned out to build up into neglect of the property. It started with a lack of utensils/tools when we attempted to make meals. That’s fine, we improvised. But then we realized there was significant water damage along the doors and windows, sheets were stained and needed replacing, facets were leaking and needed attention, furniture was broken. Someone had stomped a hole in the vinyl flooring in the kitchen and instead of fixing it, a rug was thrown over, creating a potential trip hazard. We then discovered mouse poop under the kitchen table. Because there were a few of us staying, these things might have amounted to a higher rating but if only one or two people were there, I would be incredibly upset about the state of the house for what you have to pay to stay in it.

Very appealing getaway!

Check in was a cinch. Property was clean and proper , minus the hot tub which was sandy but unusable anyway since it never heated up properly. Property does have a few minor issues that could be addressed, floor in the kitchen has damage, the top of the sliding glass door has water intrusion damage, and the clothes dryer takes a lot of time to dry clothes. And we could never get the hot tub to an acceptable temperature for us to use unfortunately. The grill being out of propane was disappointing, wish we would have checked it prior to shopping for steaks. Also we should have reached out for possible resolutions to our issues, it was just a busy weekend for us. Overall it was a very relaxing environment and we were pleased with the property. The outlying location was very satisfying. And yet just a short drive to town for anything we might need. The A-Frame structure and basic layout of the property worked great for our party. (2 adult couples) The short walk down to the beach was one of our favorite highlights. Nice size deck and fire pit was also very enjoyable. Basically had all the kitchen amenities that we could need. Beds were comfy, and the couches were mostly comfy as well. Heated bathroom floor was a pleasant surprise. The hot tub not heating properly was really the main letdown for us , mainly because it was an amenity we were really looking forward to, but overall we had a wonderful experience and a great weekend. We would most definitely enjoy staying here again.

Hi Jason! Thank you for your 5-star review. We are so glad you had an enjoyable and comfortable stay, but we are sorry you encountered a few inconveniences. We reviewed the maintenance log on the home and do see the hot tub was serviced and cleaned before your check-in, but we are sorry you had issues with this amenity, as well as with the propane tank. Had we been notified, we would have gladly sent our maintenance team over to offer prompt assistance. We understand some guests do not want the interruption, or are busy with their own schedule, but we are always available to offer assistance to our valued guests. Nice Try, Buuuut…

I chose this property because of the proximity to the beach, it’s views and the cool aesthetic. It had all those things. Unfortunately, the property is run down big time. We checked in at 7 pm and upon arrival realized we had only one towel in the entire place. I messaged in the vrbo chat and did not get a reply. I went to dry the towel in the dryer and it was not working. I never received a message it wasn’t working and the whole point of staying in home is to have “home” like amenities. They did tell me they saw in their notes that is was “ out of order” .I messaged again in the am and no one responded. It was until I called and made them aware of both issues. We couldn’t wait for towels to start our day so off we went. I called periodically to check if they had been dropped off as no one from Meredith Lodging was keeping me up to date. Anyway we got home around 3 and that’s when a car pulled up with the towels. Again, unfortunately, when I went to open the bag a terrible smell hit me. They clearly were brand new which meant never washed which isn’t horrible but these towels had a chemical like smell like smelled like throw up. Like literally could not walk by then without the smell hitting you. I continued to check out the property and it just felt grimey. Guest bathroom smelled like urine, living room couch had stains all over it, screen door wouldn’t slide open, cutlery was dirty. I could go on but I think you get it.

Hi Angelique. We are glad you enjoyed the view and location, but we are sorry to hear you were not fully satisfied with your stay. Although we cannot guarantee amenities will be available, we understand your frustration at the dryer being out of order. Our team did try to resolve this for you by dropping off brand new towels and offering you a credit towards a future stay for this inconvenience, but you declined. We would like to note that we were not made aware of any of the other issues mentioned in your review until after you checked-out. Had we been notified, as we were about the dryer and the towels, we would have gladly sent our housekeeping team over to promptly address your listed concerns. We have shared your comments with our local property team to review. We do value your booking, and can only hope we have the opportunity to provide you with a better overall rental experience in the future.
