Summary:
Stay in our warm, welcoming 1BR apartment nestled in the basement level of a beautiful victorian home in D.C.’s treelined and popular neighborhood, 16th St Heights. We’re conveniently located with the best of both worlds: easy access to the National Mall, Monuments and Smithsonian’s AND only 3 blocks from Rock Creek Park, the river!

The Space:
The apartment has a full kitchen and living area with a huge L-shaped sofa which expands to reveal a comfy queen-sized bed. The unit includes a private bedroom guest bathroom, a cute little outside seating area, and a separate front entrance.

Spacious Setting - Enjoy calming neutral tones in the living space, a HUGE comfy couch and a "cinema nook" encouraging guests to slink back and enjoy their favorite films while resting after sight seeing. There is a SmartTV, so guests can stream directly from their Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO accounts and more.  

Comfortable sleeping - There is a deluxe queen sized bed in the bedroom, sure to give you a great nights sleep, the sofa in the living space expands to reveal a queen sized bed as well. 

Convenience - We stock the kitchen with all the kitchenware you'll need if you decide to do some light cooking. Enjoy a fresh pot of coffee, available and complimentary for your stay. In the bathroom, you'll find a variety of bath products for your use. 

The apartment is in the lower level of the house, the upstairs is a completely separate unit that has separate access with long term residents.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire unit, it is not shared.

There is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life.

The Neighborhood:
16th St heights is hugely popular with families as it is residential but has great access to downtown. The incredible hiking, walking/running, and biking trails in Rock creek park are JUST 3 blocks away. Fun facts about the neighborhood; Lincoln's Cottage (off of Rock Creek Church Road), where President Lincoln used to vacation when he wanted to get away from the city, is one of this neighborhood’s hidden gems. The nearby Rock Creek Cemetery dates back to 1712;  both the Cemetery and the Armed Forces Retirement Home are on the National Register of Historic Places. The Fitzgerald Tennis Center is just a short stroll away.

Getting Around:
We are nestled between two metro stations (1 mile away Georgia Ave-Petworth - green and yellow lines, and Fort Totten metro, where you can catch the red line).  Our neighborhood is full of transportation options!  We`re a 20 minute drive from the White House (Uber rides are plentiful in the area), but there are buses that can take you directly to the National Mall in 35/40 minutes. 

There is a bus stop 1 minute away from the home that can take you to Metro Center Station (red line). From there you're just 3 stops from Union Station, which is nestled among the major sights, including the U.S. Capitol Building, the Smithsonian Museums, and the National Mall. 

Bus lines in the immediate vicinity (70/79/52/54 within two blocks).   The S2 or S4 bus can have guests on the White House steps in half an hour. 

Uber and Lyft taxi`s are plentiful in the area as well (and we provide coupon codes to take $$ off)!

DCA - ~25 min;
Dulles - ~51 min;
BWI - ~53 min.
