The kitchen features a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and well-equipped kitchens. The sliding glass doors lead to a back patio and stairs to the full rooftop deck with awesome sunset views. located between Key Largo and Islamorada in Tavernier at Mile Marker 91.7 on the Bayside, in a protected tranquil oasis cove of Community Harbor, in the beautiful Florida Keys.

Beautiful Views and Amazing Hosts

We had our 3 children with us and everyone enjoyed their stay! The views were amazing from dawn until dusk. The staff and hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. We will be back!!

Peace and beauty

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. VERY clean property with beautiful views and many ways to enjoy them. Slept soundly with the fresh air and the quiet sounds of the water. Excellent property - beautiful pool.

Fun stay on the water

It was a fun few days on the water in a houseboat. Watching the sunsets and the surroundings from the top deck or back deck were a lot of fun. I would rent it again.

Love the Rooftocp Deck and Dive Bar

Everything was great. Houseboat was clean and functional. Folks at the marina were friendly and at night we met many locals at The Dive Bar. Good food and company by the fire, cornhole, friendly kids who live at the marina taught our son to fish and catch lobsters. Great time, we look forward to going back!

Great place to relax

Staying on a boat house was a first for us. We enjoyed it. The upper deck was great in the evenings to relax and see sunset or storm clouds rolling in. The beds were very comfortable. Over all, this was a great place and awesome experience. Would come back again.

The manatee

Loved the house it was better than expected. Plenty of room for the 6 adults that stayed there. The dock workers were friendly and ready to help if any was needed.

The property was in a great location, great views and environment. Some areas that could improve is the lack of bedding, towels, the current bedding doesn’t fit the beds. There are some small upgrades to maximize the space but overall it was a unique experience.

Low key and relaxing

Overall the boat was very comfortable and well maintained. It had all the basics that you needed and plenty of room for the whole family. I thought we would feel cramped but it was just the opposite - lots more room than staying in a hotel! The roof deck sunrise and sunsets were to die for. The location was close to many parks and good spots for eating. We will be back!

Family lobster trip

I thought the accommodations were very nice. I was a little sad that there weren’t more pops, pans and cooking dishware. The two barbecue grills at the front of the marina were falling apart, and it made it very hard to cook in the evenings.

Hi, Thanks for the review. When I check guests in and do a walk through on the houseboat, I show where the pots/pans are stored and mention, "if you need anything, just ask. We may have it in housekeeping or there is a 'dollar store' located less then a mile from the resort" (we have sets of NEW pots/pans in housekeeping). As it relates to the BBQ grills, since we are basically out over 'salt water', then tend to corrode quickly. Unfortunately you where here near the end of there useful service. The next set of guests, will experience 'new' BBQ grills. That's how 'life in the keys' operates. I noticed you checked in on a Tuesday (my day off). I will make sure my collogues mention what I've stated above, when they check in a guest. Question: Were you UNABLE to cook in the houseboat or on the grill? THX, Mike

Boat house adventure

This was our first time staying in a house boat. We can now check that off our bucket list. The roof top deck and lower decks were excellent to get sun or shade. Their was plenty of parking. A/C worked well. If we had a negative- there was only 2 forks in the kitchen drawer. We had a great time.

Double booked

VRBO booked us with a place that was already booked and the property manager had to find us a place to stay which was too small but the only thing he had available. VRBO messed this one up according to the property manager. Will deal direct with this property in the future.

Oldie but goodie!!

Unique experience, would do it again!!! Boat needed a little TLC, maybe some handrails. Property bar only had beer and wine. No food. Light menu would have been ok. That was disappointing. But they’re transiting!!! Decks were great on boat. If you’ll have us back. We’ll c u soon.

Nice boat, shame about the bilge pump

Spacious boat in good location. The Marina probably needs some TLC re: Paint work, plaster etc but overall , we have no regrets. The only problem, and it was a problem, is that the Bilge pumps activated every 3-4 minutes throughout the night. This was reported but of course it was during the holidays so little could be done to resolve it. The middle bunk was right beside the noisiest bilge pump and without a stiff drink and deep set ear plugs, sleep was impossible. Clearly the boat draws Water on the port side when everyone is in bed and it is unfortunate that beds are all on the same side of the boat. When we left it seemed that Michael, who was excellent, was going to get the problem attended to. It may not be a quick fix.

The Manatee was a nice size for a houseboat. We specifically wanted it because we felt it would accommodate our family of five (which includes three young adults). The rate is overpriced in my opinion. We stayed at two other places during our Key West/Palm Beach vacation, both comparably priced to this (one being a similar size to the Manatee) and the other two were much nicer. The houseboat definitely needs some TLC. Unfortunately, the a/c was out during our stay. Mike did offer to let us stay in another houseboat because of this. However, the alternative was very small, and I didn't want us climbing all over each other. So, we chose to stay in the Manatee with no a/c. It made for a very damp and sticky stay. Maybe because it is an older boat, there was a very strong "old house" musty smell. Overall, we will probably not return. Mike, though, was very nice to work with and did refund us a small amount due to the a/c not working.

Fun Family Time!

Our stay at the Manatee was a special time. Our family of four (2 adults/2 teens) spent 3 days aboard the Manatee as our "mother ship" for adventuring in Everglades National Wildlife Refuge. 2 more adult family members joined us for one of the three days/nights, and there was plenty of room. We brought along our skiff and were able to just tie it behind the houseboat for easy access to fun days on the water. We enjoyed sunsets and sunrises from the boat with ease. Although we did not see dolphins from the boat (we did see them out while adventuring), we did see a shark (maybe a lemon or nurse shark), plenty of upside down jellies, and were excited to witness the bioluminescent mating ritual of the Bermuda Fireworm - which was incredibly cool! Prior reviews were accurate that 1) this boat is perhaps a little too well loved/dated, and 2) upper deck rooms are warmer than lower deck rooms. BUT - it was cozy, clean and comfortable and did not hinder any fun or stop any of our plans. There is plenty of A/C, it's just that the sun warms the master first, etc. I do NOT like to be hot, and the little clip on fans we brought were plenty to get the cooler air up to the bed area and we slept just fine. There was a toilet issue that started the day we arrived, some blockage due to something previous guests likely tried to flush. Mike and Ed both were VERY responsive, and when they were not able to resolve the issue, we were given the option to move to another boat. We would definitely stay at this marina again, but would likely try for one of the newer boats if available.

Situated on the waterfront, we are only 60 miles from Miami, 8 miles from Key Largo and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, 10 miles from Islamorada, the “Fishing Capitol of the US” and the Theater of the Sea Marine Mammal Park and scenic drive south on Overseas Hwy, 90 miles to Key West visiting the southernmost point of the US and the famous Duval Street and all of the activities.
