Our team works hard to maintain high standards across all our cabins, and while we strive for perfection, we know that sometimes things can go wrong. That’s why we include a request in our check-in instructions: if anything feels off upon arrival, please contact our office within a couple of hours so we can make it right. In your case, the maintenance technician you reached out to was unfortunately dealing with a medical emergency and didn’t notify our office of the issues. Because we weren’t made aware until after your departure, we missed the chance to assist you during your stay. Once we received your report, we promptly replaced the light bulbs with brighter ones, repaired the underwater pool light and hot tub jets, and addressed all other concerns. Had we known sooner, we would have gladly sent another technician to resolve the issues, including replacing the smoke alarm battery and refreshing any linens. Our cabins are professionally cleaned, and while deep cleaning tasks like moving furniture or dusting high wall décor are scheduled periodically, we’re always happy to send a crew for additional cleaning if requested. Regarding the pool liner, the small tear (about 4 inches) was already scheduled for professional repair after your stay and should not have affected pool use. As for the roof, a recent storm had caused damage that was temporarily patched, but unfortunately, it came loose again during another rain. We’ve since completed a full repair. We’re glad you were still able to enjoy the stunning views from the deck and make the most of your time. This cabin holds a special place in our hearts—I’ve stood on that porch myself, listening to the birds and the river, thinking it was the perfect escape. We’ve addressed all the concerns you raised and would love the opportunity to welcome you back. We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the cabin. The owner has been working hard to remodel that pool. The pool was just sanded down to a smoother surface ready for a liner, which is probably where some of that dust is coming from. They sanded concrete and it is still settling. The pool table is scheduled to be refelted this month. The ladybugs like to come out in the warm weather. Unfortunately, it is illegal to kill them here. We could have provided pucks and chalk, no problem. As you can imagine, property management is an ongoing project. Many of our guests love that cabin and are repeat visitors. We wish you would have called us while you were here to see what we could do. We hope you will reconsider staying with us.
