Renovated suite in Fernwood House. You will love this modern ground floor one bedroom! There is a large kitchen with stainless appliances including dishwasher and a dining table for four. The bathroom boasts heated tile floor, a tub/shower, vanity and toilet. The living room is furnished with a three seater couch, a lounge chair, a small desk and an electric fireplace. Curl up and read a book, watch the Smart TV or sit and work. At night enjoy the Simmons Beautyrest queen size bed. Note: bedroom carpet, bedroom dresser, couch and desk are new in September 2022. Note: We are licensed for Non-Transient Accommodation and have a three month minimum stay. A small discount is available for stays of six months or longer.

Fernwood House is centrally located in the heart of Victoria.
• Royal Jubilee Hospital is an 8-10 minute walk away.
• The quaint Fernwood village is a 3-5 minute walk and includes the famous Balfry Theatre, Fernwood Inn, Stages Bar and a number of other lovely businesses.
• Hillside Mall is a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk and offers Thrifty's Foods, Starbucks, Shoppers Drug Mart, BC Liquor Store and dozens of other retail shops and restaurants.
• Camosun College is a 15-20 minute walk.
• The University of Victoria is easily reached by bus, bike or car - or a 30 minute walk.

This apartment had everything you need, in a great, safe location. Fernwood is a walkable community with excellent shops and restaurants, and a great distance to downtown and the beaches. It was a great space for two people, and was very cozy with the fireplace in the wintertime. Hope to stay again!

Great Stay – Clean, Convenient, and Well-Managed!

I stayed in this apartment for six months and had a fantastic experience. The place was very clean, well-equipped with everything I needed, and in a perfect location—close to shopping, hospitals, and restaurants. The host, Neil, was always responsive and helpful with any questions. Highly recommend!

Superb long term stay

I moved to Victora and needed a place to stay while finding a house to buy. Unexpectedly, I ended up staying for 6 months. The apartment was very quiet and the kitchen was exceptionally well equipped...with even a salad spinner! I would highly recommend this VRBO apartment. It is located within walking distance of all types of shops, services and attractions. The owners are extremely attentive to detail, and very responsive to requests and questions. Definitely a 5 star experience.

Clean and cozy

We stayed for the month of April. The unit was as described. It was clean, cozy, well equipped and located in a quiet neighbourhood. We had only two issues and Neil responded very quickly to both of them. Being on the lowest level of the house, there were occasional walking sounds from the unit above, but this should be considered normal for a wood frame building. For those who like walking, the relatively flat streets in the area made for satisfying walks.

Lovely, clean, well appointed apartment,

This is a lovely place to stay, everything you might need is here. There is a coffee spot about 10 minutes away and a square 15 -20 mins away with a bar, restaurants, and a couple of grocery, convenience stores. A shady leafy street with lots of trees. Lots of space and although a semi basement apartment, there is good lighting, with lots of windows. The neighbour's are friendly and the hosts are very helpful and responsive. Definitely recommend this vrbo.

I stayed here while working in town and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Hosts were very accommodating and responsive and the apartment was extremely well stocked and tidy. Would stay here again.

Our one month stay in Victoria

We were very impressed with the cleanliness as soon as we entered the condo. Location is excellent for walking to downtown, and local restaurants and coffee shop. Hosts are fabulous with very quick response to every question. If I had one suggestion, it would be to refurbish the laundry area. Loved our stay!

Great location. Great accommodation.

We stayed for 4 weeks. So lots of time. This is excellent for 2 people. The description is accurate. It's comfortable, well appointed. Check in, admin were all handled quickly and efficiently. Location is ideal..It's like a sweet spot which connects easily to water/coast on three sides, walking, golf, pubs and gardens. The weather was a bit mixed, but the flowers were spectacular. We will return

Amazing space in safe and quiet neighbourhood

I've been at Fernwood House for one month. The apartment is spacious and well-equipped with anything you may need. I enjoyed the neighbourhood, public transportation are just 1/2 min walking. I would surely come back to Neil.

Great stay great communications

We stayed for 2 months. Just as others have said, the apartment was nicely laid out, nice artwork and design. Quiet neighbourhood and handy for exploring all of Victoria and beyond. Neil was a great communicator and fixed and problems (which was few). Ted next door is a great help always there if you have issues, and keeps the grounds clean and tidy.

Great place!

This place was awesome! Neil and Heidi were so helpful and replied quickly to answer our questions! We moved in with a lot of stuff and the rental had room to store it all! Great visit:)! Kitchen had all the amenities we needed and the neighbourhood was amazing!

Basement suite

Basement suite that has been made livable. Cement painted white with very hot base board heaters to try keep it warm. I had a small plastic bag from the Gap touch the heater - small part 2in x4 in melted onto the baseboard - got charged for a bran new heater on my credit card. In stead of a little bit of white paint. Not impressed!

OURS WAS A LONG STAY

The unit was exactly as pictured, amenities were great., especially loved the comfy bed & fireplace. Whether you have a car or not, the location is ideal for walking in the neighbourhood & public transportation is within steps. Communication with our host was always fast & friendly.

Good location for sightseeing

Property is a nice size for 2. Quiet location and friendly neighbors in the rest of the building. Suite is on the north facing side so a bit dreary on cloudy days. Could use a nice narrow upright dresser in the bedroom. The one described as a small one is no more really than just a utility hall type cabinet. Very tiny. Vacuum cleaner was heavy and awkward. Kitchen needed more linens, cutlery and cooking utensils. Overall value for the price.

Relaxing and Comforting

The overall property is really comforting and relaxing. the Neighborhood is friendly and peaceful. I took walks to the organic grocery store and cafe about 6 blocks down. Parking for this unit was great (back yard) as street parking can be challenging in this part of town. also a Taxi ride down town is only about $10. I was easily able to complete my laundry when others weren't using it, everyone is fairly peaceful. For me, the only time it may have been loud was there was maybe a family staying above me and they banged around and might have had a basket ball at one point but other than that, everyone is pretty respectful and I doubt you'll hear much else and I'm pretty sound sensitive. Neil is really friendly and nice to work with, my the table needed a quick repair and he came by and fixed it in less than 5 minutes. He was also kind enough to let both my parents stay for a few days as they helped me adjust to Victoria. All utilities and appliances work great, the internet cut in and out at times but I never had a problem with work or recreation. The addition of Netflix and various entertainment options saved me a few times on rainy days! Also Willow beach and Gonzalas beach are about 10 and 12 minutes away by car.

Fernwood house is excellent

Fernwood house is cozy, clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. We were very happy using it as our base to visit family nearby. The kitchen is well equipped, and there are nice cafes and a park close at hand. I would strongly recommend Fernwood House. We hope to return.

We love spending time outdoors and travelling. Our main base is in Vancouver but we also spend time with our family in Victoria and at our home on Mayne Island. In 2016 we purchased the six-unit Fernwood House in Victoria so we would have a place to stay when we are on Vancouver Island. The Ferwood area has a great vibe and we love walking up to the Koffi Cafe for a coffee or to the Fernwood Inn for dinner. We have just renovated and furnished this unit for rentals of 3-12 months. We have stayed at many VRBO properties around the world and know that you will enjoy this great central location in Victoria.
