Come spend some time in a completely updated 2bed/2bath beachfront condo. Updated kitchen w/ granite and stainless appliances comes fully loaded for cooking. Oversized balcony off living area provides plenty of space for a family dinner overlooking the beach. Master bedroom and 2nd bedroom upstairs, each with their own private balcony. TV's in living room and both bedrooms. Updated bathrooms w/ granite counters and tile showers. Condo amenities include Wifi, Pool, Hot Tub, and Beach access. The Sangria Condominiums are one of South Padre Island's best kept secrets. The complex is one of SPI's original structures dating back to 1977, showcasing a classy architectural design thoughtfully laid out to take advantage of the exceptional beach front property. The complex is made up of only 40 individually owned units, so it is very quaint, private, and quiet. Situated on a gated tract of land in a prime location where Gulf Blvd begins it's journey north, right off of South Padre Island Blvd. Walk to the entertainment district, shopping, restaurants, CVS, etc., you are in the heart of it all. The complex boasts a heated pool, hot tub, tennis court with pickle ball, a basketball goal, and an available volleyball net upon request.

We Had a Great Time!

The interior of the condo was very clean and very modern. Both the living room and the master bedroom have amazing views from their balconies. I was a little worried about the kids' room also having a balcony because I didn't want them out there unsupervised, but honestly, that door sticks a little with the lock, which I feel like is a good thing. I don't believe a small child could get out that door on their own. All 3 of my kids slept in the second bedroom and loved it. I feel like it fits 3 small kids well or would fit 2 older kids. The condo had sand toys to play with, and it had a 50% discount on the chair and umbrella rentals on the beach. Definitely worth it! The exterior of the condo building (all units) is somewhat aged; however the inside of our condo was great. The pool was not crowded when we were there. We had a great stay and would recommend!

Excellent location, but it needs a lot of maintenance.

You canā€™t beat the location. However, the condo needs a lot of maintenance. The shades are dirty and toasted by the sun. One of them fell on my child while he was trying to go to bed. The maintenance staff was not able to fix it. I donā€™t know the last time that the air filters were cleaned, but we had to asked them to changed them. They were filthy and the condo smelled. All the kitchen utensils and equipment was there. No issues with that. Beds were not comfortable at all, but the view was amazing. Some dust fell on my clothes while they were in the drawer. Possibly sawdust from the drawers being so old. We found mold on the ceiling and other areas. This could be cleaned easily, but nobody had done it. The pool needs cleaning. They were working on it while we were there for the lights. However, I never saw anybody actually cleaning the pool. There were tar marks in it. Itā€™s a real shame because itā€™s such a great location, but the maintenance is abismal.

The Sangria is Aging Well

This property is like a fine woman who has aged through the years. She can still turn heads. The grounds are clean, the grass is manicured, the pool is kept up. There are signs of decay here and there. The salt air takes its toll, which means there is some repairs, but the property is still impressive when compared to the modern-day, boring high-rise. This particular condo has similar characteristics. Some little things that disappoint like a door that wonā€™t close all the way. To cabinets that could be fixed up a bit. Patio furniture that could be captain chairs to help see the water. Fresh coat of paint. Maybe new linen/towels, etc. (Some of this may not the responsibility of the condo owner itself.) The lay-out is very nice. Two floors with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The master bedroom looks over the ocean with its own patio/deck. There is no washer/dryer in the unit, but there is coin laundry on premises. The location is great. Itā€™s a block from the CVS. You could walk out the public beach access right next to the condo and go 2 blocks to get ā€œprovisionsā€ for your day at the beach. The Rocotto Grill restaurant/bar is right next door too. You can see a sunrise on the gulf side, and in the evening walk 10 minutes to see the sunset at Longboard on the lagoon side. The Sangria has many years left. Itā€™s nice to see effort being made to maintain such a classic in South Padre Island. I think with just a small amount of work it could be a great place.

Condo is as represented in the pictures and more. Balcony views amazing - loved watching the sunrise! Hunter was great host - generous with his time answering questions. Absolutely will stay here again if circumstances allow.

Breathtaking!

Waking up in the morning, watching the sunrise over the ocean, walking straight out to the beach, and relaxing on the balconies in the evening made this condo No. 1 in our VRBO experiences. Definitely coming back!

Good but not as good as in the pictures

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Location is great and the ocean view is wonderful. The condo is getting a little tired though, the couch had leather peeling, the front door lock barely catches the latch and requires multiple attempts to lock. The AC kept the condo cool but was extremely loud. Bathrooms had some water stains/mold on the ceiling. Overall pretty clean-and comparable to other units we have rented. We will consider renting this unit again next summer. On the complex in general: super friendly maintenance folks, and having an ice machine on site was very convenient. The pool however was very cloudy and I would not recommend swimming in it although I saw some people use it. Kids had no complaints about any of the above and had a blast.

Family Vacation

This condo was so nice! I loved how much space there was in the living area. With our three boys there was plenty of space for all of us to sit. Itā€™s so nice being able to just walk down to the beach! Loved that there were some beach equipment for us to use. The beach chairs were so nice to be able to use. Thank you for having those available. Only thing I wished the property manager would invest in is a coin machine so you could get quarters on the weekend when the office isnā€™t open. Since we left on Monday we wanted to laundry on Sunday and took us forever to find a place that would just exchange cash for coins. Great place!! Definitely would recommend!!

The condo is exactly as described, and is located on a good central location in the strip. The beach was the least populated in a popular time. Hunter is a great host! Will be staying with them again.

Gorgeous Condo and Views

What a great slice of heaven. My wife and I enjoyed our time here, as it is on the beach and in the middle of everything on the island. Even though it is close to entertainment, all we heard was the sound of the waves. Well apportioned decor and comfortable beds, you may be tempted to just sleep. But resist, as South Padre beckons you to enjoy it's playgrounds of the Gulf and Laguna Madre. And always this place to come back to, as it is large enough to feel like home but properly sized to not require work to keep everything in order. We loved it and will be back.

Great Condo, Great Location

We had a great time in October at Sangria 205 condominium. It's a great location that provides easy access to the beach, nearby restaurants, and a bar right next door (Margarita's). It was incredibly quiet, and we love having the two balcony's that face the gulf side. We spent a lot of time on the lower balcony because it provides some shade but enjoyed the upper balcony first thing in the morning to watch the sun rise. The condominium is set up nice with both bedrooms upstairs and living room/kitchen downstairs. We also liked the gated parking lot, given there is public beach access right there and a bar next door. Made us feel secure the entire time we were there. The only downside we found is that there is no laundry in the unit and the Wi-Fi is very weak if you're wanting to work remotely. I'm sure it's more of a restriction on what's available on the island for internet service, so not a big deal for us. After all we were there to balance work and the beach :) We will definitely consider this unit again in the future and the management was great to work with. If you need any assistance while you're there, the cell number for the facility management person is on the office door, just off the pool area.

Week away during COVID-19

The location was great! The property is nice a little bit dated but nice. There are a couple of things I would mention. I overlooked that there is no elevator and it is on the second floor with some steep steps. I would have liked some better patio furniture for enjoying the view. I would stay here again. Nice quiet location

The property was in a very nice location and didn't have too many units so it was very quiet, we had the pool to ourselves each night. The kitchen was very nicely stocked and there was a CVS within walking distance which was convenient. Decks on both sides for nice views. Upstairs had both bedrooms and 1 bath and another full bath down stairs. Only suggestion was with the check in process. It should have been a little more clear where to enter the property (as there are 2 entrances) and what the apartment number was. It was in the title of the PDF but no where else. Also a key pad on the door would have been nice rather than a key since we were on the beach and would make check in easier. Having to take a key down to the beach is super in convenient.

Great spot on S. Padre

We loved staying at this Condo. The best thing about this condo is location. Itā€™s right on the beach with just a very short walk from any of the units down to the water. Our 2 year old daughters were able to walk the distance on their own. The pool is also nice and was never busy. The 2 mornings we used it, we were the only ones there. The whole complex was very quiet, so great for families. Two big balconies in the unit were great for watching sunrise and spending time in the evenings to relax. We only did take-out due to Covid but there were many restaurants within a 5 minute drive and the kitchen had everything we needed. Only negative thing was that that it seemed as if the floors hadnā€™t been washed in a while. Walking around barefoot, the bottoms of our feet would get very dirty. It was okay since we were washing up frequently and would not deter me from staying here again. Would highly recommend this unit.

Summer gateaway

Very good trip overall. The condo was very clean and organized. It has all the basics that you need for you stay. The proximity and access to the beach is wonderful. It actually turned out to be in a small pocket where not a lot of people was around at the beach. Maybe the closest family was 25 to 30 feet from us (at least, maybe more). In these dificult times that we are living, that is very important. Hunter did a wonderful job making us feel welcome and was very quick answering all of my questions. I will definitely consider this condo for future trips.

Ideal location; ideally equipped

This small low slung condo complex affords the most low desnsity beach front space weise on our walks on the beach. The On-site staff is ready to fix issues, and works out of an office next to the pool (next to the large size ice machine available for residents). But not only is this condo complex ideal for a Padre vacation, The unit itself was obviously somebodyā€™s loved vacation home. The amenities were complete and all in good working order. The two stories had two plush oversized balconies facing r beach and one facing inland. The parking was convent. The set of kitchen tools was extensive and well planned; we brought some of our own but absolutely did not need to. The beach facing balcony afforded deep afternoon shade, and when combined with the breeze off the shore, was a beautifully comfortable place to be. The furniture, mattresses, and seating were all still plush and comfortable. There were beach chairs and a hearty selection of beach toys. The WiFi worked great, and the Roku TVs allow easy login to your favorite streaming apps, with some services included. The condo is stocked with some games and a gree nervous selection of DVDs. We found it clean, in good working order, and very well located. The easy walk to CVS filled any gaps in groceries and supplies. From now on, this unit will always be our first choice in lodging at South Padre.

Wonderful Summer Getaway

We had the most wonderful 4 night relaxing getaway at the Sangria. The only thing negative my family had to say was the trip wasnā€™t longer. The condo was amazing and the views were as beautiful as advertised. Waking up every morning to the fantastic ocean view and watching the sun rise and set over the water was so peaceful. We cooked in most of the time and there was everything we needed to accommodate us. The towels were sparkling white in the bathrooms and everything was super clean. We enjoyed using some of the beach items and playing the games the owners so generously provided. We rented bikes for our teenage girls and they rode all over the island and said this was the best trip ever. And we have been a lot of places. It was just so laid back with the easy beach access, like being at home away from home. The property management was superb. We will definitely be back and have already recommended to friends and co-workers. Thank you all for a wonderful stay it was a real blessing.

Perfect location on the Island!

Office staff was helpful and rental manager was responsive. The 2-story condo looks exactly like the pictures. Great location and walked to restaurants. Did catch a free van ride to the Sea Turtle company and walked back. It was a manageable walk.

This is one of the only condos where the Master Bedroom overlooks the ocean. It's one of our favorite features of the condo. The main floor balcony is over-sized and provides plenty of room for a family meal. You can also go to the second bedroom balcony and catch the fireworks on the bayside during the summer time!
