2 Bedroom Villa with Plunge Pool
The villa offers the added convenience of two bedrooms, making it an ideal choice for families or groups of friends. This provides ample space for guests to spread out and enjoy their stay.
A standout feature of this suite is the inviting plunge pool, offering a luxurious and refreshing way to enjoy the stunning panoramic views over the landscape.
El Lugar is a unique casita style resort that sits on 1200 acres of pristine tropical rain forest and is truly eco-friendly.
During construction, we worked with the land so that not a single tree was cut, concrete was used only when absolutely necessary, and we built the casitas on pylons as to not disturb the natural soil. Because we were so careful with the land, the wildlife never left and it looks like the resort has been there a 100 years.
Each casita was strategically placed not only for the best view, but also based on the direction of the wind, so each room gets a nice breeze. The beds are ridiculously comfortable, and we have fiber internet throughout the resort. Also, the owner just so happens to be a world renowned antique dealer, so of course he shipped in antiques from all over the world to furnish the casitas. No two casitas are the same!
The resort also features a ranch with cattle and over 60 head of horses, so if you like to ride horseback, or interested in learning, this is one of the most unique places to do it on earth. The terrain is magnificent, we border the Sarapiqui National Rainforest so the wildlife is plentiful, and we have professional cowboys on staff that can handle any skill level.
There are also many things to do around the resort, like a chocolate tour, bird watching, nighttime nature walks, zip lining, white water rafting, and if your into botany, we have an amazing nursery that we've been growing for the last 10 years with an amazing assortment of plants.
So come stay with us, and let the land nurture and take care of you in a way that you never knew possible. Let the howler monkeys sing you to sleep, relax into an afternoon rain shower and leave with a sense of peace that you can only get from a place like El Lugar.
Please note that the resort is still under construction, so things like the restaurant and event center are not ready, but you can still enjoy a wonderful meal at the pool and bar.

The Story of El Lugar...
The owner of this property wrote a best selling novel called "The Place", and in it he described a sacred piece of land that was undisturbed by mankind, that nurtured and cared for all those who visited, and where the stewards of the land honored it by working with it rather than destroying it.
For many years the Author searched for a place that matched the energy of land he described in his novel, until one day a close friend stumbled upon a piece of property for sale in Sarapiqui, Costa Rica, and she told him he needed to come see it at once..
When he and his partner arrived, they instantly knew that this was the land they'd been asking for, and when they had trouble coming up with the financing to purchase the land, the owner told them he'd wait, as he knew the land had already chosen it's new owners.
When the sale was complete, they decided to further explore the 1200 acer property and come up with a name for the resort they would eventually build. As they wondered through the rain forest, engaged with the wildlife and swam in the river the properties edge, it finally dawned on them... Let's call it El Lugar!... Which means The Place in Spanish.
