Wonderful spacious house in amazing location. Perfect jumping off-point for biking Leelanau Trail and Michigan wine country.Things to know before booking: lots of stairs so maybe not great for accessibility needs, bring your own toiletries. While some are provided, we found we quickly ran out of toilet paper. The laundry/dryer are not the best but they get the job done eventually. Lots of common spaces, game room perfect for entertaining small kids and families.

Thank you for sharing your experience at the Jefferson house. it really is a great home base for biking the Leelanau Trail and exploring wine country. We're so glad the spacious layout and game room worked well for your family and helped make it a fun, memorable stay. Regarding the washer dryer combo, it is new state of the art all in one. It may not be what guests use in their own home. A standard dryer is provided as well. Thanks so much for staying with us.

Great location beautiful views

We stayed over Christmas for a couple days. The house was great, perfect for our group of 9. Lots of steps to keep in mind, but wasn’t an issue at all for our group. We also loved being able to easily walk into downtown Sutton’s Bay.

Cute secluded Suttons Bay Property

This property and location was so perfect for our friends trip up north to Michigan! Perfect size for our group, except the “5th bedroom” does not have its own separate door, so be prepared for that. Beds were extremely comfy and kitchen was well supplied! Thanks for being great hosts!

Family Gathering

Our multi age family was in town for a wedding. The property was perfect. It allowed us plenty of room to spread out while allowing great spaces to gather . We loved being able to walk into to town.

Family gathering

Wonderful location, in walking distance to beach and downtown. Loved the surrounding woods with foxes playing nearby. Large living room and kitchen that made an enjoyable family gathering possible. Nice bathrooms also. Several doors wouldn’t lock easily or at all. Property could use some TLC

Contemporary home, good location

House is comfortable, but needs some update, windows, outside stairs, deck, TV room. Kitchen well stocked, two outside grills, one charcoal. Bedding could be improved. TV room, sleeps 4, preferably children. Property manager very helpful.

Wonderful Stay with Excellent Amenities and Responsive Host

We, a large group of friends and family, had a fantastic stay at this beautiful home! The place was incredibly pleasant and clean, with plenty of space to relax. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the cookware and utensils I needed, and I appreciated the clearly labeled cabinets and light switches, which made everything easy to find. The owner was very responsive and accommodating to all my inquiries and requests, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

All good except: mattresses 2nd & 3rd level need replacing. Master on top level really bad. Outside could really use coat of paintwater pressure in 2nd level bad Otherwise. - perfect great room.

The property had good room for our family (six adults and two young grandchildren) and I liked the layout of the rooms. We really did not use the lowest level. The main family room and kitchen area was very open and provided room for everyone to be in the “same” space. The bathrooms were fine. The master was nicely sized. The other two were tight. The shower stalls were pretty small and had curtains not a door. It didn’t bother our kids. All three of the bathrooms looked to have been fairly recently redone. The proximity to town and the beach was wonderful. We could easily walk to both places and it was not too much for our eight and five year old grandchildren. There were plenty of beach towels but no beach chairs. We rented the chairs and a beach wagon to cart that and beach toys to the beach. The kitchen was generally well supplied. There were no lidded dishes we could use for leftovers. Fortunately, there was some plastic wrap we could use. I recommend bringing foil, plastic wrap, baggies, etc. or your own storage containers. The appliances were nice. The washer/dryer were very nice, too. I felt the price was a bit high, but it was all that was available for our needs at the time I rented. I would rent the house again. I could not determine if the owner was a company or an individual, though the person I dealt with answered questions quickly.

We're so glad the layout worked well for your family and that the location made it easy to walk to both town and the beach with your grandchildren. We do supply beach towels but not beach chairs, so renting those was a good call for your trip. That said we will be adding a beach wagon and will consider beach chairs in the future. As for lidded containers for leftovers, that's great feedback; we're always looking to improve and will work on adding more since items like that can sometimes go missing over the course of a busy summer. On pricing, our rates reflect current trends in the area, and site fees can vary depending on where you book. We're happy to hear you'd rent with us again, and thank you so much for being our guest.

Wine tasting weekend with cousins

We had a great stay at this nice home in Sutton's Bay. The home was clean and comfortable. The stairs were a bit much for a few of our seniors, but we managed to have a great time. A few suggestions to improve the property. The ceiling fan in main area needs a good cleaning. A working can opener would be a great addition. The knives in the kitchen need to be sharpened or replaced. More towel racks or hooks in the bathrooms would be a great addition. An air fryer would also be a great addition to the kitchen.

Would go back

Lovely house and setting. My only request would be to have some light blankets in the bedroom - it was way too warm for the nice comforters, but we needed more than a sheet. I know that the number of stairs has been mentioned before, but please take this caution under advisement. From the garage you go up about 6 steps to the ground level, from there another six (or so) steps to the first bedroom and bathroom, more steps (about 8?) to the main floor (2 bedrooms, bathroom, living room), about 5 more steps to the lovely kitchen/dining area, and - finally about 6 more steps to the loft, 2 bedrooms (1 small without a door), and a bathroom. The house is beautiful, but i am awfully glad I had grandchildren there to carry stuff up all of those stairs!

We were so happy to have you as our guest. Thank you for sharing your experience at the Jefferson house and appreciate that you found the house and setting lovely. Indeed, when you are not using stairs all the time you can get a work out at the house. As has been mentioned before, the bonus is the privacy each bedroom has on each separate floor. Regarding blankets, they are kept separately in each bedroom closet. We just recently removed them off the beds for summer but always welcome guests to use what is supplied in the house.

The house was very clean and exactly what we expected. I originally was looking for August but when our dates changed toJuly the price went up 4,000. We payed 12,000 for one week. I went ahead and booked it anyway but I won't do it again.
