A block from the beach in Playa Grande’s luxurious Palm Beach Estates, this two bedroom bungalow is nestled on a large landscaped lot with a pool shared by the other five bungalows scattered nearby. This charming cottage is one of the few with two full seperate baths and a fully renovated kitchen. If you are lucky, you'll see Howler monkeys from there or as you return from taking in the sunset on the secluded beach - and several of Guanacaste’s finest restaurants and up-scale bars are only blocks away.

Bedrooms are equipped with queen size beds, A/C and ceiling fans. The kitchen has everything you need. The tiled front patio has a ceiling fan and fabulous garden view out to the pool. Comfortably sleeps four. There is even water taxi service to Tamarindo from Central America’s largest mangrove estuary three hundred yards away. Barefoot perfect place to stay!

Luminaka Luminescence

We had an amazing time in Playa Grande. The Casa is in walking distance from the beach, surf lessons, a small market, multiple terrific restaurants and the water taxi to Tamarindo. We spent hours in the naturally heated pool, grilled out a time or two and generally lazed about in air conditioned comfort. Shawna was super responsive and answered our every question. Highly recommend.

Cousy place, always!

We've been a few times in Casa Luminaka already and we can't get enough of the good things; the house is clean and safe, our kids love the pool and with time you feel this is your second home. You're sharing the pool so there is always an opportunity to make new friends! We did short walks to the beach in the mornings, it's easy to feel connected to nature; birds, monkeys, new sounds and animals set the stage to a beach where you find the peace of mind we're looking for in our vacations.

Close to Beach, Restaurants, Activities

Home was as described. Lots of new housing construction on way to home and in area. Enjoyed an estuary boat tour that departed within a few blocks of the home. During our three nights day, we saw monkeys, iguanas, beautiful birds from the house. The house had all amenities needed, including pool/beach towels. The pool was a welcome relief from the heat. Nice quiet property, very roomy. Once at the house it’s a bit of a ride to go back to town so bringing some groceries was a great idea. Enjoyed several outdoor nearby restaurants. All in all very satisfied and would return. Host was available and welcoming.

The place needs updating furniture and restocking kitchen items but both mattresses are brand new which is a plus and this is the only bungalow of the 6 that has 2 bath rooms. Living room sofas and patio/dining chairs are not comfortable and the BBQ needs to be replaced. There is also an iguana that lives above the pool and regularly poops into the pool. Water was often uninviting from lack of chlorine.

Very Relaxing Time

Thank you for a wonderful stay. We loved the casita with its nice pool. One of the nicest treats was the beautiful beach with virtually no one on it. We also appreciated having some English language television, such as prime, video, and Netflix.

spectacular stay!!

This was an amazing spot, 5-8 min walk to the beach, all the restaurants super close, staff super friendly….pool was a must! Shawna was great with anything we needed, checking and out easy peasy and all communication prompt and effortless. stayed in Palm beach about 10 times, one of our favorites🥰 thanks for an amazing trip!!

Amazing!!

Perfect location with 10 Min walk to empty waves. Villa was clean, comfortable and complex of 6 units offered plenty of privacy. Pool was steps away which was perfect for us to view our son in the pool. We loved it and would definitely stay again!!

We always love our stays in Playa Grande

Location and accommodation was very good. Close to beach and the pool was excellent. Internet was fast. I just wish the community of PG Estates had a recycling program. And they should invest more in road repairs.

My wife and family had a great time staying at the barefoot bungalows. Our 5-10 minute walk to the beach made our stay very special. Shawna was very attentive and helped us find transportation and offered guidance above and beyond our expectations. We look forward to staying there again in the future.

A very nice vacation

We visited for a week over the Christmas holiday and were quite comfortable here. It is easy to find, and near enough to the beach to walk twice a day. The neighborhood is very quiet, but a short boat taxi ( or a 45 minute drive) away from busy Tamarindo. The house is well equipped and we were able to cook full meals in the kitchen. We felt that we got a good value for our money but know that others may have higher expectations in amenities. The hotel across the road serves good cocktails and the market around the corner has great tacos for 1500 each. We'll be back.

Relaxing by the beach

The entire experience was just wonderful. The property is conveniently located close to the beach, about a 5 minute walk, local restaurants, and a surf shop. The beds were comfortable and the unit was clean when we arrived. The refrigerator was new and was very nice (many similar units that we have stayed at in the area only provide a very small refrigerator). The air conditioner had died just before we arrived and they installed a brand new unit so our room was just right. The beach is fantastic and a surfers paradise. The manager was very responsive and arranged for extras like laundry service. She even sent her husband to pick us up from another rental in the area where we stayed the previous 2 weeks (it would have been difficult to transport our luggage without a vehicle). We don’t recommend the other rental we stayed at, though....so it was a refreshing upgrade staying at the Barefoot Bungalow! Pura Vida.

Property needs work

We had issues with our casita so we had to move out. Jorge took very good care of us and we could see he was taking care of the issue we had. We moved into another casita on the property that was better stocked and overall better. The Barefoot bungalow needs to be better stocked with kitchen items and housing items in general. Our friends stayed next door to us and their unit was much nicer and had floaties for the pool and lots of extras items in the unit which made it nicer. We will not stay at the Barefoot Bungalow again but would stay in another unit within the property.

Love this Casa and the location

Casa Charly 5 is well appointed. It is very convenient for each bedroom to have a dedicated bathroom. It is also very conveniently located near restaurants, a small supermarket and more importantly the beach! I would definitely stay there again.
