The location was GREAT. There were a few cleanliness issues that we had to address upon arrival and it was a bit more dingy and worn than pictured. However, Despite those things we were able to enjoy our vacation with direct access to the beach across the street.

606A was very clean, cozy and well stocked. The living room furniture is very uncomfortable maybe add a foot stool or recliner. The door to the washer and dryer on right side keeps sticking hard to get open.

We had a great stay and the property was very nice. The only problem was the sliding glass door would not stay closed as the latch was broken.

We love this property

We always stay at Gulf Shore Surf and Racquet Club when we are in Gulf Shores. The pool is great and the access to the beach is wonderful. We like the location because it is away from all the traffic. This unit it well stocked, nicely decorated and has a great view of the beach. It is a great option for a couple wanting to get away. We will be back.

Best of Both Worlds

Loved the location, room, access to bay and ocean. My favorite thing was to come back from the beach and spend additional time on balcony with chaise lounger. I actually read a whole book. Next time Iā€™ll bring the spouse to fish the bay!

The unit itself wasnā€™t bad. It looks as though the owners have tried to upgrade the unit, which was nice. Our issue was with the cleanliness of the unit. When we got there, there were dirty sheets on the dryer, dirty towels in the dryer and a blanket that was dirty, on the bed. The only covering for the bed. I had to wash that blanket before we could use it. The couch which was fabric was wet and smelled like disinfectant, so we were unable to sit on the couch. The sheets on the bed that was made, looked clean, however, when I went to remove the sheets as instructed when we were leaving, the mattress cover had a blood stain on it. It looked like it had been washed and the stain was faded, nonetheless it was on there. I removed the mattress cover, and there was a huge stain on the mattress itself. It was awful. The worst part is when I returned the key to the management company, I left detailed instructions with the key and instead of reading it and contacting me, they charged my credit card for an extra 50 stating I had taken the comforter off the bed. There was never a comforter on the bed when we got there, I am sad for the owners as the unit is pretty. But they need to do their due diligence and get another property management company to manage their property, and definitely another cleaning company. I would never stay at this unit again. The cleaning company had to know the condition of this unit when they said it was ready for rental, which is so wrong in my opinion

Overall, our stay was okay, but there were a few issues that impacted our experience.We lost power for about four hours one evening because the dishwasher and dryer were running at the same time. While the property manager eventually resolved it after several calls, it was not ideal during spring break. We were told to not use use the dryer again until they figured it out. The AC unit was also inconsistent, set at 70, it would swing from very cold to very warm. Lastly, both the bed and sleeper sofa were uncomfortable. We ended up leaving a day earlier because of all the issues.We loved the location and we appreciated th responsiveness, but these issues should be addressed to improve future guestsā€™ stays.

Great Stay!!

I loved the condo. Balcony faces ocean. It was very clean with smart Tv in bedroom and living room. However, in order to watch tv you have to have your own netflix account or Amazon Prime and it's slow. But you do have cable. Everything was great and can't wait to stay again next year.

SG's Swimfest

Everything was great except sand on the balcony and floors. Bathroom floor needed sweeping between toilet and tub. Fan in bathroom also needed cleaning. We would book this condo again.

Nice stay

The location is directly across from the beach access so it was easy to get to and that was nice. One elevator did make a funny noise once in a while but it seemed to be in good working order. I would recommend to bring Damp Rid. This condo holds moisture and the floors will be wet with out it. Other than that, It was a nice place to stay.

Our stay was okay. However, the bathroom door lock did not work, nor did the bathroom ventilator. Also we could not figure out how to watch live streaming tv in the bedroom.

Review

Location was nice. Only one operational elevator during our stay. Room was very small. Property was clean, but there did appear to be some kind of mold on the cieling. Beach access was nice but the beach is very narrow in this location. Overall not a terrible stay but wouldnā€™t recommend this place to anyone I know for the cost.

Hello Robert, We are sorry you ran into these issues. Mold in the bathroom can be common when there is not ventilation during and after showering. Due to the humidity and temp. Wonā€™t stay there again.

Communication was poor with property management. The ā€œnewā€ elevator stopped working second day we were there. Mold on the ceiling in the living area. Sliding glass door would not lock. Washer and dryer did not work well. At least 2 cycles each time to clean and dry.

Upon arrival at Gulf Shores Surf and Racquet Club, I took off my sandals and immediately noticed a considerable amount of sand on floors. No broom was available, so I wet a face cloth and wiped a small area in main room and it was filthy with dirt. It made me wonder when the last time it had been mopped. It was very gross! The rest of the condo was very clean. I did not contact Poole Vacation Rentals (property managers) immediately as I should have. I waited a day and half. In any case I emailed Angila Sarvold (who is in charge of housecleaning for Poole - ) about the condition of the floors and in reply received an unprofessional response. I can provide email exchange if needed. In the future I will definitely try to avoid renting any more vacation properties thru Poole or those that use Gleam Team housekeeping.

Hello Margaret, We deeply apologize for these issues. We will be in contact with you, to get further information. I had the housekeeping manager, send me the conversation. She offered to send the cleaner back and to have a broom and dust pan delivered. I can she how the directness, seemed off putting. We certainly do not to seem unprofessional in giving a direct response. We do hope to have you stay with us again.

Perfect place in-season, even better off-season.

For quality of accomodations, amenities, and convenience and accessibility of nearby activities, restaurants, etc, Gulf Shores Surf & Racquet Club can't be beat.

Extremely disappointing

The unit needs some serious attention along with the entire complex. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Couch was the same the tv operations was completely out of wack. We packed are tennis racquets because the place is called Gulf Shores Surf & Racquet Club the tennis courts had no nets and grass was growing on the asphalt. Only had one elevator working out of 4 spent a lot of unnecessary time waiting on elevators. Some sort of black stuff growing on closet and bathroom ceilings. If I could post pictures I would. I could keep going hopefully you get the end result hereā€¦.find somewhere else to stay! ā˜¹ļøā˜¹ļø

We are very sorry that the tennis courts were closed. We only manage the unit itself, and not the entire complex. On the listing it says: Please forgive our progress as we bounce back from Sally. Some amenities might not be available, during your stay. The owners have since replaced the bed, corrected the mold issue and put a brand new recliner in the unit. We appreciate you taking the time to leave the review. We assure you that the owner has updated this unit .

It's a small, but very nice condo. We enjoyed our stay.

Lifeā€™s a Beach

Very cozy place with great landscaped pool . Has everything you need for cooking . We found black mold in bathroom, dirty furnace filter, and sleeper sofa bed had food crumbs on bed sheets.

Love this location!

A few issues but nothing that would prevent us from returning
