Not great

Didn't live up to expectations. Check in window small - 4pm-8pm. Check out is 10am which doesn’t leave you with much time -- so keep that in mind when booking. You have to go to an office to check in and the receptionist gave us the wrong code so we had to call the help line to get in. Took about 30 minutes to finally get in. Not a great spot for anyone on a wheelchair or crutches, especially in the winter with snow. It’s not fully pictured in photos but you have to take a flight of stairs to get inside the house. Cleanliness wasn’t great. Downstairs bathroom didn’t have hand soap. One of the single beds had chip crumbs under the sheets. Another single bed had a suspicious white substance on it. We weren’t given nearly enough blankets or pillows. The king bed didn’t even have a duvet cover. All it had was a single thin sheet and one small blanket that didn’t even cover the entire bed. Some of the pillow covers were stained. There was barely any hot water the entire time we stayed. we had to call maintenance in order to get help because we were only able to get freezing water. That helped but by the next day, no more hot water. Maintenance was nice. We were also given only one medium sized trash bag for the whole weekend. The cleaning fee is upsetting when so many things had been overlooked in the cabin. A pro was the location. Close to restaurants and the resorts. Wouldn’t stay here again though.

Horrible Start. Suffered to get in the property.

First of all, I didn't know nor expected that I will receive an email 2 hours before the check in time (which I was driving on my way to Big Bear and not checking my emails) asking me to verify my identity which is A must before I get INSTRUCTIONS on how to enter the property! Which led to us staying on the street in the dark with 4 children for few hours before we got all that figured out after making 5 calls and being on hold for long times. When we finally entered the place, we were greeted with this bad smell, however the place was not too bad, it was clean and cosey. The shower head was really weak and no grill available. The internet was also weak, and the TV was freezing here and there. I didn't like that fact that we have to check in at 4PM and check out at 10AM. Why do we have to get robbed of 6 hours from the two days and nights we paid for. They wouldn't even extend the check out until 11 or 12 O'clock after all what we have been through from the start. This is our story; you guys make up your mind on what you would think of this place if it was you in my place.

2nd visit

This is our second year staying at Lazy Bear Bard and it feels like home for us. Place is quiet, clean, with good WiFi reception. Vacasa office provides good service from booking , quick check in and additional services.

The house is quaint but the cleanliness took away from the home

The location is great. The house is cute from the outside. But as soon as we opened the door the bad odor greets you in the face (combination of old wood, wet dog, skunk and other things we can’t describe). And we spent an hour wiping every surface as it was caked in dust. And then there was no bbq grill. The bedsheets/linen was covered in dust as well. Even the spare was dusty. The water pressure in the shower is soooo low and the hot water knob was so hard to turn. The back door deadbolt was hard to engage as well. If it wasn’t for the items mentioned the house would have been enjoyable because it was cute and quaint. But the cleanliness did ruin our enjoyment.

Perfect cozy cabin

This property was exactly what we were looking for! It’s close to the ski resort, clean and included everything we needed, and it had the cozy cabin-feel to it.

Very cute and cozy

This cabin was perfect for us 3 Adults but there is definitely plenty of room for 4. Warm and cozy. Easily able to connect to personal Netflix account. Oven and stove work great. The two bathrooms comw in handy. Very clean. Would stay here again.

Meh....it was sufficient.

VRBO advertised this property as having cable/satellite, but it does NOT have it. It has only streaming TV and the internet was to slow to prevent the shows from glitching and freezing up. This is very annoying for someone like me who prefers regular cable/satellite TV of streaming TV services. In all my years of using VRBO, this was the first property that did not have cable/satellite TV.

Great Location!

Quaint little place for a small group. Secluded for great quiet time, yet, very close to main town stores and a few minutes from the village. Would recommend putting a light by the bottom stairs (by address numbers). As soon as the sun sets the stairs are very dark. We had to use our cell phone lights to watch out step.

Great location.

Always loved Moonridge area. The Cabin is near the small zoo where kids can have a great time and see the animals. The cabin has almost everything you need. I have twin babies so I need washer/dryer for clothes and the place doesn’t have one. Nice big front deck, Spacious bedrooms, 1-1/2 bath, which is important if you’re a big group. Overall, we’re satisfied.

Snowboarding weekend

This cabin was Great for our family of 4. Centralized perfect for our weekend of snowboarding. Not to big of a cabin, but enough space to relax and enjoy.

Welcoming and clean

Pretty neat home, nice proximity to the ski resort

This home feels like a mountain getaway, which was fun. Super easy to get up to the mountain (and back home after a long and fun day).

Property was ok, nothing special. The management company that oversees it really hurt us.

The property was ok. Good location. Nice deck. Nothing special. The downstairs shower faucet didn’t turn off all the way and the toilet kept backing up. Old furniture, old bedding, just outdated all around. The management company that oversees the property dropped the ball. We were supposed to go for three nights. They/Vacasa cancelled our first night. There was a storm on our day of arrival so they cancelled our stay. We were forced to stay in a hotel and go up the next morning. The storm was gone by midnight the night we were supposed to arrive. We got up to the mountain by 8 AM on the second day. We called and texted the local management office numerous times but our calls and texts were never returned. We finally called the Corporate office of the management company and they told us we could continue our stay but no services would be provided to us due to the storm (however the storm had passed by this time). They gave us a lock box code to get in and that’s it. We stayed two nights out of the three we paid for. From Friday until we left on Sunday, the local person who works at the management company did not return one of our calls or texts. Corporate (who is located in Oregon) never once followed up with us. The storm would not have prevented us from making it up to the cabin. It lasted 8 hours and had passed well before midnight. There was a HWY that was open. Vacasa chose to cancel our reservation because they said they couldn’t provide services due to the storm, I.e., cleaning, etc. We found out that the place had been rented the prior weekend so it was presumed the cleaning crew had already cleaned. I doubt that management waits until the day before the next reservation before they clean. Sure enough when we arrived the cabin was spotless, so again we could have come up Thursday as planned. The driveway was not plowed but I figured since Friday and Saturday were crystal blue days, surely they would send someone over to plow out the driveway. I guess not.... It’s very sad. We paid a lot for three nights. We are now out of pocket for one of the nights. Neither Corporate nor the local person who works for Vacasa seems to care that they hindered our vacation substantially. This Company obviously doesn’t put the customer first nor do they consider customer service a number one priority. They cancelled our reservation, they ignored us, not professional at all. I’ll rent from VRBO again but from the owner, never Vacasa.
