This charming 5 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom modernized cottage is secluded on a tree-lined street and packed with ageless character. It was brought to life with the utmost care and attention to detail, and outfitted with exquisite upscale furnishings. Totally unlike most vacation rentals available in Salt Lake! This home is a gem located in the heart of one of the most coveted neighborhoods in Sugarhouse near 9th and 9th and downtown Sugarhouse Districts and Sugarhouse Park. The shopping possibilities are endless and such fun boutique-style shops and eateries.

This home backs up to the beautiful unique Wasatch Hollow Preserve, a unique park setting with a natural spring, natural lands, walking trail and playground. Its surroundings provide a quiet setting surrounded by wildlife and native vegetation. There are two loops through the preserve that offer visitors the chance to exercise in a natural setting within the city. The space is open to the public year-round, closed from sundown to sunrise.

Great Location

Big Bungalow

Great house with plenty of room for our large group. Hot tub, play station and foosball table were a plus. Too many pre-check in emails from the property management company and duplicates from VRBO made the process confusing but this was minor. Overall, highly recommended place to stay in sugarhouse.

Sugarhouse Cottage A

Couldn't have been happier with our stay at this property. Plenty of space for six people to spread out. The hot tub and fire pit offered lots of fun moments in the backyard space even during the winter. We would definitely consider staying at the Sugarhouse Cottage again.

Just one issue

Property has basement bedrooms and one of the rooms has what looks like an on going issue with water infiltration when it rains. Management got someone over late the next day after we reported the issue the night before. Bed was moved from the room and disassembled to clean and vacuum water out of the room. We ended having to move bed back in that night after a late evening at a BYU game. We were surprised that there was no offer for some discount or allowing for a later checkout. Otherwise we were happy with property just pray it doesn’t rain during your visit.

Ski weekend getaway

The house was a great location in between downtown SLC and the ski resorts. Plenty of beds and space for our group. Communication with property manager was prompt and swift! We saw benches in the pictures by the fire pit but they weren’t there during our stay. The hot tub was great to relax in after a day on the slopes.

Holiday Fun!

What a wonderful home! Listing was exactly as it presents, the manager was very quick to answer questions on how to get in :) and it was a perfect match for our two families! The home is well organized and comfortable. The view is outstanding from the hot tub and I would recommend this home to anyone visiting the area!

Afraid to break anything

The property was beautiful. the check in process was not what I hoped for. The property made me make a copy of my license and send in - I wasn't comfortable with this, but last minute booking dictated I comply. Every coffee cup was numbered and little signs everywhere - we were afraid and couldn't quite get comfortable in the property. GORGEOUS house, great neighborhood, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Great Stay

This was a wonderful house for our family reunion. It is close to walking paths and a park. Four of the bedrooms are nice size and one is tiny which was perfect for our granddaughter. We had trouble being able to use the fire pit since the key was not available. After notifying the management, we were told maintenance would contact us. Disappointingly, no one ever showed up. Also we were not able to open the front door, so had to walk around from the side door to enjoying the seating on the porch. I noticed these were problems listed with a previous review as well. The hot tub was wonderful and was very relaxing. The patio furniture was very comfortable and nice for gathering outside. There was plenty of space for everyone to be enjoying games and gathering. I would strongly suggest management create a notebook with directions for everything with the supplies needed (fire pit key) in a drawer. Plus a list of restaurants nearby. This has been very helpful in other places we have stayed.

Nice house but ant problem and weak communication mixups

The house is nice and comfortable. There are a few “buts” though. There were tons of ants in the master bathroom, both dead ones and alive ones. I told the management and someone came to spray. It felt gross though rest of house ok. I asked if there was a pack and play and whether I could check out later at the time I made the reservation. The answer was yes to both. Then another staff person told me no pack and play. Again just before arriving I asked, and they said no pack and play but yes on checkout. So I hauled my own crib in the airplane. Turned out that was wasted effort and money because they had one. And then for checkout they said no when I contacted the day before to confirm the time as instructed. So communication was weak overall. I also object to telling guests that they will get $10 Amazon gift card if they give a five star review. That’s unethical no? It was written in a card in the living room.

Perfect property for our family!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a really great stay at Wasatch Hollow Cottage! While it’s not a huge house, we had SO MUCH room to spread out!...5 bedrooms (of various sizes); a nice little family room downstairs for movies, video games (our teenaged boys loved that after a day of skiing and a hot tub!), foosball; a living room with more seating; a nice big dining room table for family dinners; and a REALLY thoughtfully-equipped kitchen that had absolutely everything needed to make our meals. The location is great - a park (dog-friendly) just down the block, close to groceries and other “errands,” close to both U of U and Westminster, and quick access to main highways, which meant we were at Park City, Brighton and Snowbird in half an hour or less. The hot tub out back was awesome! We had a couple days of 60-degree weather so having the grill out there was great too. The fire pit is advertised as one of the best parts of the property, and I wouldn’t disagree, except that there were no chairs/patio furniture out there. We contacted the property manager and they were ON IT immediately (unfortunately, the furniture was unavailable for our stay, so hopefully that issue will be resolved quickly for the next guests). For some reason, the front door seemed to be sealed shut...not sure what that’s all about - there were a couple chairs on the front step/entrance area, so would have been nice to walk out the door to sit there with coffee...but the side door by the driveway was very convenient for getting to our cars and to the back yard. The driveway was really nice and big (long)...we fit our big SUV as well as a couple other visitors’ cars we had come over (who live in the area). This property is in a beautiful old neighborhood with ample sidewalks for walking and easy accessibility to so much of what the SLC area has to offer!

Water pressure not optimal, if a second shower is used at same time water becomes close to a trickle. Some cookware getting tired. These are minor points in an otherwise very nice experience.
