Conveniently located 35 mins from Bangor and Ellsworth, and just 30 miles away from the iconic Acadia National Park, this Springy Pond gem has everything you need for the quintessential Maine vacation!

Springy Pond is a pristine, spring-fed pond. At 114 acres, with a mean depth of 19 feet, it is perfect for a variety of water activities. Enjoy swimming, paddle-boarding, kayaking or jet-skiing in the warmer months, or bundle up and head onto the lake for ice-fishing in winter. Alternatively, you can sit on the dock and enjoy a cup of coffee as you watch the loons go by. It’s a perfect opportunity to connect with nature.

A hot tub is available for year-round relaxation!

Two paddle boards and two kayaks are included.

There is a fire pit and fire wood will also be provided. Get ready for toasty evenings by the fire - don’t forget the s’mores!

For those working from home, we have super-fast fibre optic internet which offers reliable speeds of 50 MBPS and is perfect for video conferencing.

We are happy to welcome well-behaved dogs and cats.

Beautiful lake house

Very comfortable house and beautiful lake with excellent dock, floating dock and play boats/paddle board. The loon are such a joy to hear. We had a stove failure that created some issues but host was generous on partial refund. Kitchen could use some other amenities but overall excellent.

Lakeside

Au Bord du Lac in Otis is a lovely house. Sitting on the dock in the early morning with your coffee while the loons call and the mist clears can't be overrated. The location was great, the house was very much as described, and the local caretaker was responsive and friendly. We stayed a month and enjoyed local hikes, paddling the lake in the kayaks, and the one-hour drive to Acadia a few times a week to hike MDI. The kitchen is well-appointed, and everything you need, from firewood to beach towels for the hot tub, is on hand. The dishwasher stopped working halfway through our visit, but, as we don't have one at home, it wasn't a big deal. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great weekend

It was a perfect winter weekend getaway. Spent time in the hot tub, by the fire pit and caught a few fish ice fishing. The place has everything you could want.

Amazing property

Totally enjoyed our stay. The view was amazing, the representative was awesome to work with and the house had all the amenities including a wonderful kitchen. Hot tub added a great finishing touch!

Beautiful Forest Getaway with All You Need

We loved our stay at Au Bord du Lac! The location is serene, the jacuzzi is a delight, and the home is spacious and cozy. Scott, the co-host, is incredibly responsive and accommodating. We had plenty of sheets, towels, and firewood. We also really appreciated the baby gates for the stairs so we could rest easy with our one year old tottering about. We felt the care put into this house! You won’t regret staying here :)

The place was perfect! You are so secluded, the hot tub looking at the lake under the trees is a vacation in itself. We were able to easily access Bangor, Belfast, and Bar Harbor during our stay. Many thanks for a lifetime of great memories of our first trip to Maine!

Lakehouse gem

The house is beautiful and there was plenty of space for our whole family. The cohost, Scott, was excellent and really helpful. We had acess to firewood, paddleboards, kayaks, and lifejackets. We just needed to bring food and clothes.

Magically escape on the Pond

From the moment we stepped on to the property we kept saying how lucky we were to be there. The location on the pond is perfect and most days we felt like we had it all to ourselves. The pictures didn’t do it justice. Scott, the property manager was very attentive to any questions. The kitchen is any foodie’s dream and has everything you could need. The house was nicely air conditioned and it was a luxury to simply decide if we wanted to float in the pond, be in the hot tub, or relax in the house. Hoping to make Springy Pond a yearly escape. It was BEYOND MAGICAL!

Love This Place!

I can’t say enough about how great this rental is. The house comfortably accommodated 6 people, had all the necessary amenities. It is in a quiet and beautiful location, and we loved the access to the pond. Scott was extremely helpful, and kept us informed about everything we needed to know. We went into Bar Harbor a couple of times, and this property is about an hour drive away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Amazing stay

Loved our stay. This is the perfect place if you are looking for a quiet spot, off the beaten path. Recommend investing in spray, mosquitoes were pretty bad. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable.

Very quite and secluded

Just what we needed. Quite and beautiful on the lake! Very relaxing weekend! the dirt road getting there is an adventure and also very beautiful to walk with morning coffee! Definitely a plus to be able to have our dog with us also! Great communication with the owner/property manager only wish we could have stayed longer!

Wonderful Stay! We’ll Be Back!!

The home was beautiful, spacious, and was fully stocked. We couldn’t have picked a better location for our first visit to Maine. Everything was exactly as described and the owner was very helpful in preparing us for the trip. Scott our co-host gave perfect directions and was helpful throughout the trip. Even came at night to replace a light that was out on the back porch so that the hot tub could be used. Just a very beautiful and cozy place and a wonderful way to get away.

Perfect Getaway!

After fighting leukemia all summer and fall, all I wanted was some place quiet where my family of 5 could spread out, relax and just decompress and yet still enjoy the Christmas holiday. This property was the perfect antidote to all we'd been through in the last six months. It was immaculate, had EVERYTHING we could possible need. The hot tub was a saving grace with my body aches and I loved that there was one area for "quiet" (reading, puzzles, etc) and a separate area of TV, xbox, crafts. Would definitely stay there again over Christmas.

Magical moss covered woods

The property was absolutely gorgeous. Our stay was during peak fall season, and the views and landscape were beautiful. The house was clean, up to date and had plenty of space for our group of 6 adults. The hot tub was an added bonus, awesome location where you can look at the stars while soaking in the tub. The pond was quiet and a lovely little escape using the kayaks. Oh, and upon arrival was gifted a welcome basket of smores stuff and a bottle of wine, cant get much better than that! Would recommend this place to friends and family, and will definitely go back in the future!!

Great setting on Springy pond

I was looking for a quiet, wooded setting on the water and this place checked those boxes. Some places are designed from the ground up to be rentals. Others, are lived in homes that are used for rentals. This is the latter. Therefore, there is a little more clutter than normal. Our co-host, Scott was very informative about the area. It was also a nice touch getting fresh produce.

Perfect Getaway for Family and Friends!

This was the prefect getaway for our family of 7. There was plenty of room in this immaculate house. Kara and Scott were great hosts to work with! The property is a beautiful home overlooking a gorgeous lake (not sure why it's called a pond). We felt welcomed and at home immediately as we were greeted by a beautiful welcome basket as we entered.. The communication with both Scott and Kara was extremely helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding. We paddled all 3 sections of Springy Pond. We had to portage one section, but that made it so much more adventurous. We spent our evenings with a warm campfire and the relaxing hot tub. The neighbors were so welcoming. While we were walking the area, several stopped to say 'Good morning!'. Some folks even stopped by to meet us. We came "home" to fresh produce on our steps, courtesy of the community garden. We cannot say enough about this home and our hosts. If it's a quiet, relaxing place for friends and family to reconnect you're looking for, look no further. You're there. Bar Harbor is about an hour away, with Ellison much closer. However, with everything the home has to offer, you may not want to go into town at all!
