Welcome to Lower Latitudes Villa! This beautiful Caribbean cottage sits on the hillside of the exclusive East End gated resort community of Villa Madeleine.

As the famous Jimmy Buffet song lyrics say: "It's these changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes, nothing remains quite the same!"

Our goal is to provide you with a private, cosy, Caribbean home to facilitate your change in attitude through rest, rejuvenation and relaxation that only Lower Latitudes Villa on St. Croix can offer!

Set in a lush garden setting amid the free-standing cottages of Villa Madeleine on St Croix’s East End, Lower Latitudes is a relaxing retreat. The villa features a walk-out to your own private pool. Through elegant french doors in each room, you’ll enjoy gentle breezes as you relax poolside on the patio. Lower Latitudes is comfortably appointed with classic Caribbean elegance. Tastefully decorated by the owners to reflect their love of the island of St. Croix and many of their underwater adventures and appreciation for the animals that live there. (If you love to snorkel or scuba dive you will love this house!)

Lower Latitudes is located just minutes from the Divi Carina Bay Casino and the 9-hole Reef Golf course. You’ll find the famed, beachfront Duggan’s restaurant at the bottom of the hill, and many other great restaurants are close by! Downtown Christiansted is a 15-20 minute drive to shopping and restaurants along with scuba and snorkeling charters departing from the boardwalk.

Great place & people

They meet you at the airport & take you to the VRBO so it’s easy to find. They recommend not running the AC all day. They offer a mid-week cleaning which is nice. Private pool is awesome but there was some bees but they don’t bother you. A Keurig would have been nice but at least there is an old fashion coffee pot.

Wonderful Property

We had a very enjoyable stay at Lower Latitudes. Check in was a breeze and the team was very friendly and helpful. The villa was very well outfitted with everything that we needed, and extremely well furnished and decorated, a very beautiful property. Look no further if you want a peaceful stay will all the amentities.

I would highly recommend staying at this Villa. Having traveled to this island 20 plus times over the years, this is by far the best place I have rented. Between the location and all the amenities this Villa has to offer, you will not be disappointed! The owners did an excellent job in setting up the Villa to make your stay a great experience. Great villa in East end of St. Croix

This was our second time staying in Villa Madeleine. This unit was exactly as shown on the site. Very clean and well kept. Kitchen had everything we needed. We love the private pools in these villas. The management company is top notch and we appreciated them meeting us at the airport. Take advantage of the provision option as it is nice to not have to run to the market first thing when you arrive. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfection!

This is hands-down the nicest vacation rental we have ever had. The images of the villa are totally accurate and it is stocked with everything you could possibly need. The airport pick-up and pre-arrival grocery shopping made our late evening arrival possible. It's far out on the East end of the island and we had no cell service, but wifi was great. Lots of great places to eat, drink and hang out nearby. The privacy of the pool is the best. Don't miss out on this great property!

Charming and Amazing Villa

We loved this place! It was decorated beautiful! It had 2 huge master suites, with wonderful bathrooms.. it was like being in an outdoor shower!! Kitchen was well stocked, colorful and cute dishes . Owners wonderful underwater photography was hung! It was great when a rain shower came sitting under the awning and swimming in the pool! Front porch was surrounded by flowers , hummmingbirds, and sugar birds! And yes it was clean!! Great books to read about St. Croix in the Villa! Games too! Love ,loved, loved the place!

Perfect -Quiet

This property is at the east end. We love the business of the towns, but when we got "home" at the end of the day we loved to be in our own quiet paradise. The whole condo felt clean. Especially impressed with sofa and chairs that seemed spotless. Great kitchen pans (I completely dislike nonstick pans that get scratches). Had a nice neighbor that I didnt't realize was there until the end of our stay. Not walkable to the beach, but had a bit of an ocean view. Beds were very comfortable. Pillow was a bit on the thick side for me. We used the grocery service for our first night and morning. Island time runs at a slower pace and we got to the condo later than we thought due to the car rental, so we were happy to have hamburger to cook along with a cold beer already for us. Would stay again.

Vacation

Al in all it was a pleasant stay. The photos on the website must have been old because the villa needs updating. It needs a new and bigger coffee pot. It was a 4 cup one and the coffee it made was terrible. The villa did not supply any shampoo or conditioner. The soap that was provided must have been old because it all broke up in pieces when opened. We had to resupply toilet paper and paper towels. The pool area floor was embedded with dirt and mold. They need to power wash it. The floor tiles in the villa were cracked. Rugs was not secure on the tile floor and it was a fall/slip issue. There was very little hot water in the kitchen it trickled out. The ceiling fan pull chain was broken. No cell service in villa. These issues should be noted in the Vrbo website.

My husband and I had a great stay. We enjoyed the private patio and pool. The area is very quiet and a perfect location to relax. The owners have thought of everything you may need! We will definitely be back to this magnificent villa.

Loved it!

Our first visit to St Croix so had no idea on location. This is east end and away from town but peaceful and a nice complex of villas. The private pool is fantastic and really what sold us on this complex. Easy short drive to Point Udall and some other points of interest. No matter where you stay on St Croix you’ll need a rental car to see anything. Thanks Lyell and Susan for sharing your beautiful villa with us, if we visit St Croix again we’ll definitely consider your place! C & S, Palm Beach FL

We have been long term travelers to the Caribbean and beautiful island of St. Croix.

We were tired of visiting properties that "over-promised", or were not close to what we saw in the photos online. So we decided to take the plunge and now own our own piece of paradise in the Caribbean. Our goal is to "Wow" our guests and provide exactly what they pay for! A clean, relaxing and welcoming vacation home for all to enjoy! We owned a very popular VRBO vacation rental villa called The Breakers at Cane Bay for the past 5 years on the North Shore of St. Croix, and now own this beautiful private cottage on the East end in Villa Madeleine.

We are both avid scuba divers and love all that St. Croix has to offer in terms of diving and snorkeling. It is truly a world class area for divers to visit with abundant wildlife and incredible corals. If you plan to come to St. Croix to dive or snorkel, please reach out to us. We have partnered with Sweet Bottom Dive Center and all of our guests are afforded reduced rates. (You'll find some of the photos we have taken on our scuba travels both on St. Croix and around the world in the villa!)

Furthermore, St. Croix offers non-divers so many fun things to see and do! Great restaurants are everywhere on island and the locals are warm and friendly!

We work with the best property management company on the island of St. Croix, Vacation St. Croix. You will be met and greeted at the airport upon your arrival by a member of our staff. They will guide you across the island to the cottage. A tour of the villa, and review of all of the great things to see and do on island will be provide upon your arrival at the house. The staff of Vacation. St. Croix live full time on island and know all the best spots to visit. It also means that night or day if you need something or have and issue, they are on hand to help you in any way they can!

And we, the owners, will always be here for you too! It's imperative to us that you love staying at Lower Latitudes Villa and your time on St. Croix.
