Wonderful family getaway

We had two families staying at the house while we were in town for a wedding. The kids and adults all appreciated the view, large lawn, and split floor plan of the house. If I had to pick one negative, it would be the low water pressure. That just made it take longer to run the washing machine. No big deal! We will definitely stay again when the opportunity arises.

Surprisingly spacious

A little tricky to find, be sure to follow host's directions. The home is larger than it looks and comfortable. Family and dog really enjoyed the screened porch, firepit, grilling at the outside dining area, and the dock. They were excited to see dolphins swimming by! There are a few areas between rooms and on the front porch that have a step down, and could benefit from a sign/reminder to watch your step. The parking area needs some additional lighting. I would also suggest mattress and pillow protectors. The area is remote and about an hour from Savannah, but the tidal creeks are a beautiful, peaceful place to stay. The night sky was amazing and we saw several meteors from the dock.

As described great location for our wishes

We wanted a secluded home with a dock within 20 to 25 minutes of a large grocery store. We wanted to crab and fish off the dock and we did. We enjoyed our escape.

Oyster House

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely, spacious home. We spent every evening on the large dock fishing, crabbing, enjoying the community fireworks display and watching the moon rise. It was a very peaceful and relaxing vacation.

We really enjoyed the large kitchen/living area and large screened porch. We had several plans rained out so it was nice to have the large living area and pool table to enjoy! 3 teen girls loved lounging on the screened porch!

Tranquility

This is our 2nd time staying her and we absolutely love it. Dana is amazing to work with and the place is exactly what you need for relaxation and the view is fabulous. We saw dolphins off and in all day, fished, crabbed and just had a blast.

Oyster House Family Vacation

This property was a perfect spot for us for a week summer vacation. Very spacious and comfortable. It seems much bigger than photos show. Highlights were fishing and crabbing from dock and our boat and also enjoyed the vintage pool table! Half Moon Marina was close and great for launching our rig. Thanks for sharing your place Dana! We'd love to come back sometime.

Father’s Day Fishing Trip

My husband and I spent Father’s Day 2024 with our daughter and both my parents and his parents. We stayed for a week and had a wonderful time. We were able to bring a boat and park at the dock. Half moon marina has a great staff and an impressive boat lift. We bought some crab traps and caught several blue crabs. We charters a fishing trip with Reel Busy Shark Charter in Darien and they were great! Spent a day visiting Savannah, Ft. Pulaski National Monument and swam at the pier in Tybee Island. The rest of the trip was spent relaxing and enjoying this peaceful home. The pool table was well used and our daughter really enjoyed playing against everyone. The outdoor kitchen and sitting area is also amazing. We made a crab boil with our catch and had everything we needed already there to do it. I highly recommend this vacation home. We have already started talking about when we could go back.

The best getaway

Our stay was excellent!!!!!! The property had most of everything we needed. The view from the back of the property is breathtaking. We caught crabs and had a seafood bash our last night there. Saw dolphins, stingrays, eels, baby sharks and pelicans. Did a day trip to St. Simon, Jekyll and Savannah which are so close by. The people in the community were kind and very personable. We will definitely be back!!!!!!

Pics are misleading and price way to high for the results

When we pulled up the yard was underwater in MANY spots and grass was high. The walkway had at least 3in of water down both sides. The walkway was falling apart and needed repaired. We were told not to even walk on the end but the middle was worse than the end of it. The pics have to have been taken years ago bc half the things you see in the pics isn't even there anymore(no lounge chairs or black benches on dock, no desk area like seen in pics and a few other things) which is pretty much false advertisement. The inside of the house was nice and clean but no ice maker and every morning there was a puddle of water in the floor from the fridge. The pool table is old and all the pool sticks are no good. The screened in porch had dirty furniture with dog hair all over it and molded pillows. Also spider webs everywhere and tables were dirty. The whole outside needs pressure washing and dirt needs to be brought in for the yard. There is a grill but it badly needs replaced. The dock really needs a cover on the top and there was no water at all on dock. There is pipe running down the dock and a hose but no water. We looked everywhere and even followed the pipe thinking maybe we could find way to turn it on but nothing. Also there's no lights anywhere on dock or even close to it, there's no chairs, no sink, ect. The neighbors were always watching us and let their dog out every morning to pee on our tires and poop in our yard knowing we had our own dog. Wouldn't recommend for price

Great location ! Terrible Management!

Location convenient. There were 4 adults staying at the unit. Issues- neighbor land escaped for 2 days-- skidsteer, tractor, and work crew was in and out of our driveway, running through yard between our house. Men were walking through ourbackyard. This was very noisy and a lot of dust created. Oven didn't work properly. Stove burner on one stove not working properly. 2 TVS never able to get working. Door frame on front door busted. Found trash in pool table pocket. Was told on each contact with property manager--at registration, when called for code to get in on day of arrival, when called to figure out how to work TV-- that neighbor watched the place and reported to her if renters had more than 14 guests or were too loud-- which we were not. Told more than once we couldn't have a family reunion or graduation party- which was not our purpose of travel or intention. Felt harrassed about this. The neighbor walked dogs in our front yard and around our vehicles to do their business. Outside patio- filthy mess. The sink drain not hooked up. Water drains on floor. Looks like it has never been cleaned. Felt spied on the whole time and afraid to make any noise due to frequent warnings by property manager that neighbor was watching place. When informed property manager of noise and dust from neighbors skid steer, tractor, etc. she said the neighborhood was her friend and couldn't do anything about his project. She asked me for suggestions- I recommended projects be scheduled between 10am and 4pm between rentals as this is the time the rental is empty for cleaning. Since they are friends it should be easier for them to communicate. If I wanted to hear heavy equipment, my family would have spent the $1,100 to work heavy equipment in my own back yard. The property manager text me to say she was coming over at 7:30 pm on our 2nd day there to look at TVs and stove. She even suggested we check out early and find another place to stay. I informed her, we would be checking out as scheduled, would do without TV, and would take our food 3 miles down the road to a family members house to bake if needed. I requested her not to bother is at the house during our vacation. She credited us $50 for the inconvenience. Great location on the water. Terrible management. I have never rented a place before where you are constantly disciplined about potential noise and # of guests permitted without even yet arriving.
