Beautiful Stay

Its and older house but well kept. Awesome setup for couples and family gathering. Plenty of space I had 3 adults everyone had there own room and bathroom also 3 children (8, 9, 10) and 9 month old. Kitchen was good for family cooking. I will definitely rent again.

Great stay

Location was perfect you are just steps away from the beach. The house is very roomy with lots of space for the 6 of us that stayed. We did have a few problems. One, the washer was broken even though a repair man came it was unable to be fixed. So I had to hand wash all of our sandy clothes which was not fun. Two, the AC unit went out in the back two rooms of the house. Again a repair man came out and was unable to fix it so a window unit was installed and did cool the rooms off but one room stayed around 77 degrees so that was a little uncomfortable. Third, the bathroom by the kitchen had a leak in the sink. We could not figure out where the water was coming from until we discovered that the base of the sink would pour water when you tried to wash your hands. We just did not use that sink no big deal. So even thought we had these problems come up we really enjoyed our stay. The property manger worked fast to get the problems solved or at least tried to solve them. She kept us in the loop on what was going on with repairs. Once these issues are fixed this house will be for sure a five star stay! We were even compensated for our troubles and inconvenience. I do recommend this house once the repairs are made.

Beach Vacation

It was amazing in terms of the location. I loved being there just because it was right on the beach and away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The house itself needed some maintenance but we were willing to overlook all the broken things within the home because we really spent most of our time out and about!

Location is Fantastic! Great Stay!

While the house could use some updates, complaints before were rather silly. For our four day stay there was plenty of TP, paper towels and DW soap. The location is incredible. No one between you and the ocean. Every room had a view of the ocean. Furniture could use updating. There are only five dining chairs and two bar stools and one of the dining chairs is barely making it with a leg extremely wobbly. The beds are a bit hard and the couch is very uncomfortable. The TV in the east bedroom does not work. The door to the bunk room is warped and won’t close. The host is great and is easy to communicate. We would go back in a heartbeat. The pros outweigh the cons.

The View!!!!

Every window & patio door has the perfect view! The deck was wonderful & the house has easy access to the beach. We were looking for a place to visit & relax; we picked the right place. Very spacious. We hope to stay again soon!

Worst vacation we’ve ever experienced

Air conditioning had to be fixed. Couldn’t unpack and had to sweat until after dark when AC finally got fixed. Clothes dryer didn’t work, propane grill advertised was so rusted inside it was not usable feet turned black from filth on floor. black f

Getaway week for me and my sweetie

I was a little skeptical after I read some of the bad reviews, but we owned a Beachhouse for over 20 years and we know that there is always something that needs to be fixed. we were positively surprised when we got there about the cleanliness and the size of the house. The only exception is, we wish the grass had been mowed due to the mosquitoes, but we know about mosquitoes and brought several cans and were prepared. Since the Internet had been out and the day we arrived they were working on it and they actually hope this up and the TVs were working our first night. We couldn’t get the Internet to work, but if anyone reads this, the password starts with a V. Enjoyed ourselves and would return in an instant , thanks

Beautiful views and location on beach

We had a great time and for the most part everything was perfect! Very spacious home and sleeps 6+ people comfortably and love the 4 and 1half baths. For the most past everything was clean and updated. Right on the beach with great balcony views! A few suggestions: needs new dinning chairs and bar stools, newer/updated couches, updated stove (some burners don’t work) new toaster, way more utensils (forks & spoons) Also, I would suggest at least a 3pm checkin and 11am check out.

Great location, poorly maintained house

One star for the location and size. This house could be amazing, it’s right in the beach and the patio is amazing. That said, be warned that pretty much everything is broken: the dishwasher, the stovetop, the doors, the tile floors, the grill. The beds are uncomfortable, and the couches smell faintly of urine. The fridge wasn’t working when we arrived, the maintenance company is useless and came out twice to confirm things were broken and did nothing about it. This house also isn’t managed by VRBO, so all your communications will be pawned off onto a third party company that seems to own the local management company. This house could be great, but it needs some serious maintenance.

Great house, but come prepared

I’ll preface this review with the personal assumption of basic expectations when renting a short term rental. Pros: The house itself is great. It’s out of the city, has plenty of parking, and great views of the beach. Each bedroom also has its own bathroom which was really nice. The smart tv’s were also convenient so we could log in to our streaming services. Cons: The “bonus” room with the bunk beds sits in between the master bedroom, living room, kitchen and dining room. There’s no way to completely shut the doors to make it sound proof. Bring your own blankets and pillows because the ones provided are very cheap feeling. We found another blanket in the master closet but it smelled like dogs pretty bad. Bring extra towels because there aren’t enough provided. There’s a washer and dryer but no laundry soap and good luck getting anything dry in that dryer. There was 1 roll of paper towels provided that we went through in 1 day.

Issues and concerns

Pros: 1. Great balcony with nice variety of chairs! 2. House was “generally” clean. 3. Nice assortment s of cookware,Utensils….. 4. Great location 5. Parking is adequate 6. Love the windows/doors 7. New bbq - delivered in middle of stay (did not use) CONS 1. Incorrect address (minor issue) 2. Yard in dire need need of mowing! (Note:was mowed on 4th day of stay) 3. Dirty shower stall on ground floor 4. Live/dead Insects in house (roach spider) 5. Cracked tiles on main floor 6. Sliding glass door channels need deep cleaning then lubricated 7. Kitchen sliding door extremely hard to open:close 8. Mold on ceiling 9. “Bunk room doors not working properly 10. Bunk room IS NOT a bedroom (no closet) 11. Advertised as 4 bedrooms (should be 3 bedrooms plus a bunk room.) 12. Bunk beds not adult friendly 13. Large sofa to small 14. 3rd bedroom bathroom power outlet not working 15 3rd bedroom shower curtain way to long 16. The outside lights (backyard-gulf side) were obnoxious. Constantly turning off and on … couldn’t really enjoy the night sky ! 17. Toaster was broken. 18. Outside shower not able to use…. Rusted water knob, door not closing properly not clean 19. Should have the 2 broken dining room chairs which were stored in the utility room repaired ! 20. Last 2 set of stairs leading into main floor could use more handrails

I LOVE this house!

I grew up at the beach. My grandparents had a water front property in Crystal Beach. We stayed at this property 4 years ago as well. This property checks all the boxes and more. If I had the money I’d make an offer to buy this house. My only complaint was that we never received a key code to enter the house. We attempted to call while on our way, but because of poor connectivity we couldn’t get through. I also tried texting with no response. Part of my party arrived and hour before we did (30 minutes after check in time) and there was a maintenance man there who gave them a code. My other complaint is that we tried to use the washing machine and it would not spin out the clothes. I ended up wringing them by hand and hanging them on the porch for awhile before putting them in the dryer. But those things being said it was one of the best vacations we have ever had and the house was a big part of that. It really is a perfect house in a perfect location. You can’t go wrong renting this house.

This house needs a lot of work. The location is perfect, but that's the only really good part of it. Everything in the house is warn down, rusty, and broken. There is open wiring all around the TVs, half of which dont work well. There electrical outlets were either open or falling off which asafety hazard. There are sharp broken tiles on the stairs, the glass stove top is broken and sharp, and there are rusty nails sticking out of the outside shower. The gate in the back is falling off the rusted hinges. The shower curtains are meldewed, and there is absolutely disgusted fold away beds in the closets. I have emailed the owner photos of as many of these things as we remembered to take photos of. Also, when booking the website, it says your payments will come out automatically, but they don't. I didn't realize this, and it became an issue. So if you do book, watch your payment dates. The WORST part for us was when our dog found rat poison. Thank the Lord he is ok, but this house is dog and child friendly. In no world should rat poison be in the house. If you have rats, use snap traps glue traps, whatever. But rat poison can kill any animal or child that gets into it. This house shouldn't be a vacation home until it has some serious work because someone is going to get hurt here.

Beautiful home horrible upkeep

Where do i start. On arrival trash cans were full with lots of bugs even though noone stayed the previous week. Went upstairs to put up food. Kitchen was full of nats or fruit flies. They got in all my food! This was a family reunion of 3 brothers, 1 from oregon other Massachusetts. One brother said just pretend its pepper! That bad!! Even the refrig got full of them. Company said someone will come spray. Really while my food cookies ect are all out and my guests are there! They came out put up pest strips ect but bugs moved to the bedrooms. My son came up for day and brought home nats! Oh gee lets cook steaks, not! knobs are stripped on antique tiny grill! Thank god husband had pliers! Ok so heres a home that sleeps 8, there were 6 bath towels. So ok ill wash at half stay mark. No problem until all wet and dryer doesnt work!! Took 5 hours to dry towels! Btw no sink stoppers in bathrooms so be careful with make up and jewelry. Tvs in 2 bedrooms dont have cable as advertised. The beds were the worst any of us ever slept on. Couch you sunk to floor, same as dining room chairs. Couple chairs broke were in laundry room. So not enough seating, 1 bar stool out i wouldnt suggest anyone sitting in! Lets cook in kitchen.....stove knobs stripped and glass top broke! Speaking of kitchen there were a total of 7 forks (crappy bent ones) really! A house that sleeps 8? This is such a shame, its a beautiful home in a perfect location.

Lots or potential but falls short

The house has a great layout and the location is about 30 min from Galveston. We had issues from the start and the property management company was delayed in responding and did not address most of the issues during our stay. We had a broken bed that was replaced after pushing the Mgmt company to do something. The dishwasher has a broken pump, meaning it isn’t usable. The stove only has 2 working burners. There were two storms that came through which caused flooding in two of the three bedrooms because the door seals had gone bad. We only had 6 towels and no laundry detergent so we couldn’t do anything about the water on the floor. Electric plugs didn’t work, doors don’t latch, tile is broken. The dining table was missing a chair and two of the counter chairs were broken. The couch has no support and you sink to the floor when you sit. There was dirt/sand all over the floors. There were no cleaning products, nor was there a broom. Most of the small appliances in the kitchen are from the 80’s and hidden, some even broken. The dishes were grimy and mis-matched. The grill was hard to light and difficult to access from the kitchen. We had to go into town and buy supplies such as TP, dish soap, trash bags, etc. as there wasn’t enough left for our stay. All of this was relayed to the Mgmt company and they didn’t fix any of it, nor did they even apologize. We were told maintenance was coming out twice and they showed once, only to confirm things were broken - not to fix anything.
