Cozy and quiet

We enjoyed our stay at Garnerland III. The house was clean with plenty of room and beds for our large family. Host was friendly and helpful. Thankful to have a home base during a busy week of hiking at Shenandoah National Park.

Great place to stay with the family

This house was amazing! The outside area was nice for the kids to run around and play. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals in.

Great Family vacation

The house was wonderful, clean and well stocked with necessity(toilet paper/paper towels and soap/shampoo). Kitchen stocked with appliances and cookware and plenty of utensils.Great space for a large group. Good location, quiet neighborhoodbut close to local attractions. Don was a wonderful host and his friendly pup,Rufus was a daily visitor. Will definitely rent from Don in the future.

Perfect place!

I highly recommend this beautiful cabin for friends and family members! Lots of space, amazing outside areas overlooking the mountains, a fire pit- and did I mention the huge kitchen. The host lives on site and was great to interact with!

Double Edge Sword

Pros:-Central location to things we were visiting-Safety of area, ease of accessibility-Cleanliness of house-Great kitchen to prep and eat at home-Friendliness of owner-Space for all of the family-Games for the kids including ping-pong table, foosball and air hockey-"Pet Friendly"Cons:-There were extra people on site that were unanticipated including a renter in the basement and another gentleman we saw on the property but had no idea who he was. VRBO states their rentals are different because you won't have your host or others around. Not the case at this property.-While this home was "pet friendly," we had our two dogs with us and had unanticipated interactions with other neighborhood dogs that were friendly to us humans but not to our dogs. There were three free roaming pups that would charge onto the property and up to the doors of the house if we were spotted outdoors. We could only go outside with our dogs if we had a person standing watch and had to retreat to the home if the other dogs came running. This was a daily occurance and definitely detracted from our stay.

Great experience

Property was as described on listing.....beautiful and serene. Home was clean, well maintained and overall pleasant. Plenty of kitchenware to use when eating in. Towels, sheets, and all the comforts of home are included. You can tell a lot of thought was put into creating a nice stay for guests. Don is a good host and it was a pleasure meeting him and his pup, Rufus.

Beautiful and huge

A very comfortable stay. The cabin was beautiful inside and out. Very clean with two full bathroom s and four big bedrooms. Plenty of closet space. Close to all Luray. The Luray caverns are amazing with a few museums and additional facilities. great hiking in the Shenandoah national Park. Horse back riding near by and good grocery and essential needs shopping close. Don was very pleasant along with his dog. Everything was accurately described. Great vacation with the family.

5th Grade Reunion

For 54 years a small group of men have held an annual 5th grade union extended weekend. This year’s event was at Garnerland III. Delightful property, all amenities for cooking, relaxing, site seeing. The host Don was on site periodically and very personable along with Rufus. We used the kitchen as well as the outdoor grill, everything we needed was available. Property is very clean. Linens and bathroom towels were fine. WiFi worked fine with multiple users online at the same time There was a fire pit available, our only wish was time to use it as we were busy. I always ask my self would I book again? Yes, most definitely.

Wonderful stay

Garnerland made a wonderful base camp for our Shenandoah adventures! Property was as described, looked just like the photos. It’s in a great location - the neighborhood seems good and it’s an easy drive to town and not too far from Shenandoah N.P. The house was clean and spacious - there were three of us and it was easy to have our own spaces! No other guests were in the other part of the house when we were there, but we chatted with the host, Don, and his adorable and friendly little pup, Rufus. Two other neighbor dogs came to visit too, they were equally cute and friendly. Comfortable beds, some toiletries provided, and even some pantry staples. If other guests were around it might have been a little busier since the units are connected and there are a lot of shared spaces (like the porches). But for our visit, the house was relatively quiet and relaxing and just what we needed. We’d stay here again if we came back to the area! Thank you Don (and Rufus)!

Beautiful home and great experience

A few girlfriends and I rented this property to hike in the smokey mountains. House was really nice, and gratefully was well stocked with everything we needed (tp, paper towels, laundry stuff, dishwasher soap, garbage bags, etc) Don clearly goes out of his way to make it a great stay, and it was really appreciated. Plenty of towels and washcloths as well. Don and Rufus were excellent hosts, really can't say enough good about the property. The back deck is shared with an open deck as well as a beautiful screened in porch that we enjoyed as well. Thanks Don!

Thanksgiving 2023

Overall, it was a nice property and delivered as advertised. There were a number of small things like lighting in the kitchen and eating area that never worked and the host knew they needed to be fixed and offered alternative solutions. With a host on site it was helpful when issues arose. I would suggest some larger trash bins off the deck as 5 adults plus another 4 or 5 in the adjoining unit create a lot of trash especially over a holiday weekend.

Good for groups, not for couples looking for romantic getaways..

Beautiful cabin and great location. However, as others have noted, the ad states there are "other rentals on-site." We took this to mean other cabins on the property. In actuality, the units are connected to each other and separated by locked off doors. This means you'll hear other guests who are going about their business, and if sitting on the porch trying to enjoy your coffee in your robe, you will be listening to their TV while enjoying the deck since their windows look out over your deck. Then everyone will file past and wave hello on their way out to town. Overall the place is great, but probably best enjoyed by larger groups that can take advantage of the larger spaces. If you are expecting privacy this is not the best choice. We enjoyed our time in Luray as always.

Beautiful home, surrounded mountainish green trees and forest.

Another rental (same property) attached to main house. Although I have no problems, the bathroom upstairs was belong to that rental and we had no bathroom in upstairs. I am not sure whether we truly rented 3,000SF house as advertised as some portion of the house occupied by the second vacationers.

The perfect weekend getaway

I just love this beautiful cabin everything was perfect the mountains view from the deck was breathtaking and it the best quiet getaway from everyday routine and best of all I was able to bring my furry kids

Great Host

Don is a very accommodating, friendly and generous host. The property is a great location for hiking the Shenandoah National Park. Spacious home with room for a family, fire pit, screened porch and more. The fully stocked kitchen and all the little amenities made it a very comfortable stay.
