Perfect spring break getaway

The farmhouse cottage is very cute and comfy, and close to everything we wanted to do - hiking at SNP and trail ride at Jordan Hollow Stables. The closest town is Luray which is a 5 min drive and had plenty of options to eat. The views from every window are beautiful and it's so peaceful out there. Gary was very good with communication and was always available to answer any questions. The house opposite had goats/chickens and the kids had a great time petting all the goats and getting to even know the neighbor. The hot tub was an added perk. It was relaxing to sit in the hot tub and watch the stars. Will definitely be coming back here in the future.

Great weekend

We had a great weekend at the farmhouse! Great fireplace and hot tub, everything was working. Beautiful hiking in the national park close by. Very cozy and nostalgic.

Country Farmhouse Nestled in Valley

Easy check-in and check-out process. Clean house. Easy driveway access. Central HVAC. Nice hot tub. Full service kitchen. Stanley has a nice diner, cozy winery, and very friendly people. Easy drive from DC metro. Highly recommend.

The view from the farmhouse was incredible. The house itself was very cottage core, a great weekend getaway. Gary was the kindest, most responsive host. This is a place we would love to come visit again.

Good place to unplug

We were able to unplug from our crazy life and enjoy some time with the family. The house was clean, the views were beautiful. The house isn’t fancy but was very comfy. The area had some fun things to do for a quick afternoon out. We would stay here again.

Cozy Mountain Get-away

This was my first time in Shenandoah area. I came up as a girls trip and this cozy cabin was just what we needed. It was locayed near the tourist attractions such a s lurray caverns, and Shenandoah Mountains. Gary was super nice and we enjoy our stay! The hot tub was amazing! Definitely a cozy homey gem. He even included a little history of the house. House included coffemaker, and pots and pans to do cooking. Only complaint is that there needs to be a new cutting board.

Girls Weekend

We did a girls weekend for the Cooters 25 year reunion. This home is your home away from home. So many amenities and the location is simply beautiful. Our mother was able to soak in the morning sun on the front porch and enjoy the scenery of the goats, chickens and turkeys across the street. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Beautiful scenery of the mountains when you stand at the kitchen sink to do dishes, not to mention gazing at the pastures when sitting in the hot tub. Conveniently located to Walmart, CVS, fast food chains etc. The host is very accommodating and communicates very well not to mention gracious. Make sure you stop by DRs Quickstop for their fried chicken. Highly recommend staying at this home to anyone who wants a slice of heaven.

Perfect location

I loved everything about this house. Went over the 4th of july and could see fireworks from the hot tub. It was in the upper 90s everyday and the AC was great.

Nice stay

We really enjoyed our time in Stanley & visiting the sites. I always like when people leave good details, so that's what I'm going to do here. The house isn't as far into the country as we thought. Neighbors are close, including ducks, chickens, and goats across the street. We didn't hear any of the animals (or people) from inside the house. The ductwork connects the rooms, though, so you can hear conversations between the rooms as well as if you were in the room together. It didn't bother us, but its a heads up for others who might want more privacy. The a.c. kept the house nice and cool. The listing doesn't mention a smoke detector, but there is at least one upstairs. (We brought one with us just in case and didn't use it.) The kitchen had plenty of cookware, dishes, etc. There wasn't a crockpot or lunch containers, but we got some inexpensive Bento boxes from Food Lion around the corner and were good to go for our leftovers. The hot tub was great. We watched the moon rise over the mountains and enjoyed the peace and quiet. There are plenty of towels for both the bath and hot tub. The house itself is really sweet and comfortable. We loved learning about its history. If we return to the area, we'd absolutely stay here again!

Great Escape

This property was perfect for our stay. It had all the amenities we needed, was clean and comfortable. Really appreciated the washer and dryer being available to use in a pinch. The only downside was that the location was almost an hour from the Old Rag hiking trail. But the proximity to Luray was a bonus as there were some nice places to dine at there. And the host Gary provided great advice on what trails to hike, sites to see and places to eat. Thank you!
