Not worth the Money
Upon arrival at the property, our party was immediately greeted by an unpleasant odor of pet urine and feces. Despite this, we began settling in, assigning rooms, and preparing to shop for groceries. I promptly reached out to the contact number provided, shared a photo of the issue, and requested that the property be cleaned while we were out running errands. While the cleaning was done during our absence, this was just the beginning of the challenges we faced.In the master bathroom, I discovered a clump of hair in the shower drain, indicating that the premises had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival. Later, during dinner, we found another pile of dog feces underneath the dining room table, which further confirmed that the property was not adequately prepared for guests.Additionally, the listing did not disclose that the homeowner would be staying next door in an RV. The homeowner’s presence in the backyard while we were swimming was uncomfortable and made our group feel as though we were being watched.There were also maintenance issues that diminished our stay:Light fixtures were hanging precariously from the ceiling.The refrigerator failed to keep our food cold and emitted a persistent beeping sound.The water in the bathrooms ran brown, which was unexpected and not noted in the property description.The pool was dirty and appeared unmaintained; my husband ended up skimming it himself. However, this was the best part about the property. While the listing photos presented a beautiful property, the home we stayed in appeared unmaintained and fell far short of our expectations. Despite these challenges, we chose to make the best of the situation and completed our stay, but these experiences have made me reconsider booking similar properties in the future.
