After a long day of hiking, coming back to the outdoor space—with its fireplace and hot tub—was the ultimate way to relax.Inside, the home is thoughtfully stocked with everything you might need (or may have forgotten), making it feel like a true home away from home. The decor is unique, inviting, and full of personality. We brought our dog along, and were pleasantly surprised to find pup-friendly touches like dog beds, towels, and waste bags ready for use.The location is ideal—just minutes from wineries, great hikes, and quaint, delicious restaurants. Plus, there are so many amenities on the property we didn’t even have time to enjoy fully: pickleball and tennis courts, a peaceful river with kayaks and paddleboards… it really is an all-in-one retreat.We’re already planning our next stay—this place is a gem!

From the moment we unpacked the porch was calling out me. My husband and I are from Vermont and it was a LONG drive. Miss Pat and George were so accommodating and friendly. Invited us to church social and gave us some pointers on local animal rescues. The Cabin is BY FAR THE BEST EQUIPPED VRBO rental we have Ever stayed at and we have stayed in a lot in 10 years. This is a perfect lake house for a family vacation. It has everything you need to enjoy the water, from the kayaks and paddle boards to the floating mat. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking. The pavilion near the water provides shade and great spot to rest after enjoying the lake.

Such a nice cozy place to stay. Very clean and extremely well maintained. Peaceful and relaxing trip. Hot tub was a very nice plus to this stay. Easy to get to restaurants too. Hosts were very kind and overall experience was great. Highly recommend this one!

The house is in really good shape and very clean. There were a lot of useful things in the house like wood, cleaning essentials, games, automatic vacuum cleaners and kitchen supplies. Everything was perfect.

Dan, We have enjoyed a remarkable month at your Lions Den. The location is perfect for all activities in the area and everything worked well in the house. We enjoyed day trips to Linville Falls and Linville Caverns. A drive down the parkway to Cascade falls was beautiful. We enjoyed morning walks at Valle Cruces Community Center and fishing for trout in the Watauga river. Only caught small ones so We went to Grandfather Mountain trout pond to catch our supper. Your gas grill was very convenient and used often. We enjoyed eating at your outdoor table. Morning coffee on your front porch was a ritual as well as evenings spent talking and watching fireflies. The only bad thing is having to leave tomorrow. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home for the month of August. Future guests should me mindful of parking directly under the pine tree. The tree was dripping some sap on the car. I was able to remove it with some rubbing alcohol and going thru a great new car wash in Boone next to the PNC bank on Blowing Rock Road. Also visitors should spend a few hours in the historic district of Blowing Rock and make reservations for dinner at Over Yonder in Valle Crucis and visit Ma's produce store on Hwy 105 toward Grandfather mountain. There is sooo much to see and do plus time to sit back and enjoy the fresh mountain air and cool temps. PS. Many thanks for arranging for the house to be cleaned after the first two weeks.

House was easy to get to. Very clean, and the view was incredible.
