  • Great Beachside Retreat

"Beautiful view from upstairs balcony. Large upstairs suite. Nice beach. Decent snorkeling from beach; highlight was sea turtle in the grassy area. Close to town of Red Hook. Furnishings nice. Would definitely stay here again."

  • The view from the top

"Gail and Curlson are wonderful hosts, friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. The rooms were spotless, and the upstairs not only spacious but filled with all sorts of useful items ranging from beach chairs and towels to an honor bar with more types of rum than I ever knew existed. The downstairs bedroom is small, but has everything a friend or second couple would need. But what really made our stay outstanding was the location, near the top of a hill outside Sapphire Bay.The view was magnificent. As soon as the sun came out, I would wander out to the porch and watch the sky paint highlights on the clouds over the bay. At night, the lights along the sides of the bay glittered like a crown. We were also surrounded by chickens, which wander freely all over the island. We could hear the roosters crowing if we left the doors and windows open. It made me feel like I was someplace else. Also, the unit is only about 5 minutes from the ferry to St. Johns, which is much less developed and frantic than St. Thomas. We went over several times and took cabs to the beach there. Overall, a delightful place to visit. It totally changed my mind about Caribbean vacations. Alan & Linda"

  • Peaceful, serene getaway

"My husband and I vacationed at Lagoon Point for one amazing week in July with two very dear relatives. The hilly location was lovely; the 180-degree view from the balcony was incredible--watching the sunrises and sunsets over Coral Bay with the island of Tortola in the distance was divine. There is no AC in the dwelling, but there are constant, cooling Tradewinds, so it is not a necessity. With the screened windows and sliding glass doors kept open (and ceiling fans running if desired), we were always comfortable. One thing we found quaint, charming and unique was the screened-in indoor/outdoor shower attached to the restroom. Loved it! The kitchen was adequately stocked with dishes, utensils and cookware -- next time we visit, however, we will bring a pot scraper/spatula, as that was missing. We ate all our meals at home--brought a fair portion of the non-fresh food with us, as we knew food in the islands is 2-2.5 X the price we'd pay stateside. There is plenty to do on the island; we rented a vehicle on St John and enjoyed exploring. There are numerous snorkeling destinations; recommend either bringing your own gear or renting from Crabby's, about a mile from the house. There are a few sets of fins and a leaky mask/snorkel in one of the closets--and several beach chairs if you want to use them! It was not really the season to hike (warm during the day), but there are a lot of hiking trails to enjoy if your visit is in the fall/winter/spring seasons. In summary, our stay was fantastic--the home was perfect for us, and we look forward to another vacation stay at Lagoon Point!"

  • Great Property - Close to several nice restaurants and walk to beach.

"Property was clean and well maintained and good location with walking distance to beach. Owner of this property was the most helpful as our party was planning a wedding and the owner made several suggestions regarding restaurants, etc. She was very responsive to all our needs. The condo itself was exceptionally well stocked with plenty of dishes, towels, cooler bags, etc. The balcony had amazing views and we enjoyed breakfast there each morning. We ate at Mim's on the property and the food and service was more than excellent. Would recommend this property for anyone looking for a nice condo in St. Thomas."
