  • Perfect Location for Winter Market

"Though the pictures are a bit deceiving of the layout of the apartments, it turned out to be situated pretty well. We stayed for 5 nights with our three young children during Christmas holiday and enjoyed walking out to the market for a while and returning to get warm and take a break from the cold weather. It is situated only 50 meters from the tram and train station so we were able to visit the Atomium and Mini Europe (20 min trip) which the kids enjoyed! The market has much to offer and is quite huge. Ice skating was great, rides, sooo much food. There was a bit of noise on the street until late at night, but the bedrooms were still fine to sleep without major disturbance. Definitely a great experience overall. As for the apartment itself, we are a family of 5 with three young boys. The small but full kitchen allowed us to prepare food while watching over them in the living room. It isn't huge, but was definitely better than staying in a hotel room for sure. The bedrooms were on the other side of the apartment so when the boys went to bed, my wife and I were able to enjoy Netflix on the smart TV without disrupting them at all. The only thing that was a bit misleading is that the second bedroom only had a single bed that was too small to fit both of our boys (4 and 7yo). So, we had to lug the chaise lounger into the bedroom each night to create a double bed. This worked out perfectly for us. The owner was very accommodating and communicated well in English (which was great bc Brussels is not very English friendly). After one day there was a leak coming from the ceiling after our showers (just drops but still enough to call). The owner came within one hour and moved us into a similarly decorated apartment. The layout was different but better actually. He even moved out bags for us bc we were out and about that day. Overall, we loved Brussels as it was our first time. Our entire family enjoyed the market and festive atmosphere. The weather was definitely tolerable and the apartment was perfectly placed to enjoy the entire experience."

  • Lovely, modern 2 bedroom apartment walking distance from Brussels centre

"We had a lovely week staying in the apartment with 2 adults and 3 teenage kids for October Half Term. The apartment is located about 20-25 minute walk into the centre of town. We didn't bother with buses or taxis as the walk wasn't too bad. This duplex apartment is certainly one of the nicest apartments we have stayed in. Modern, clean, comfortable and well fitted out with full amenities, including washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, cable TV and decent wifi. We weren't expecting 3 singles beds for our kids in the second bedroom, as we were expecting 2 singles and a sofa bed. This was much appreciated though and prevented the kids arguing over beds ! The lounge and kitchen diner are on the ground floor with access to a private, enclosed back yard area. The two bedrooms, bathroom and toliet are in the basement downstairs with street level windows. The front door is shared with another apartment upstairs, which was not an issue. I saw one review complaining about about street noise. We did notice it was noisy in the front bedroom with the window open, but there was no noise with it closed. We drove over from the UK and we knew parking was going to be a challenge in Brussels. I registered an account with the parking website 'yellowbrick.be' which allowed me to pay to park by the hour without putting coins in the meter and to park in the street right outside the apartment. It was very tricky finding a parking space later on in the evening though. It also wasn't cheap to park at 1.5 Euro per hour for 11 hours from 09:00 to 20:00. We did use the car for day trips out to the Waterloo Battlefield Museum, Antwerp, the Atomium and also to see an Anderlecht game. There was loads to do in Brussels itself for a full week and could have stayed longer. I have no hesitation recommending this apartment."
