  • Absolutely Beautiful!!!!!

"Thank you Seamus, Mary and Jane (daughter)!!!! What a beautiful home, location and grounds, and we could not have been more pleased with Ashgrove Cottage. The property is gorgeous and so very peaceful. Jane met us when we arrived and showed us the house and then just visited with us. Then Seamus and Mary met us as soon as possible. Seamus told us of some wonderful places to drive to and even making notes for us. It's the perfect location for driving to various destinations and coming home to a beautiful and peaceful property. What a wonderful family who truly care about their guests! Mary's rhubarb pie was amazing and so thoughtful. We highly recommend contacting Seamus and Mary and staying in one of their homes when you visit Ireland. Thank you so much for helping make our visit amazing!!!!!"

  • What a find!

"We can second many of the comments in the other reviews. We enjoyed this beautiful house in such a beautiful setting for 1 week. We would have loved to stay longer. We enjoyed the sheep and cows surrounding us! Constenatly, there were beautiful pictures to be taken! As was mentioned the lake was beautiful and the colors did constantly change. One morning the lake was covered with mist or a low flying cloud. We even enjoyed the excitement of learning to navigate the rather narrow winding roads to and from all of our destinations. It was our second trip to Ireland, and this was the way to do it! As many mentioned Vincent and Mary were very hospitable, kind and helpful people. We aslo had a very good experiance just booking the place with Brethanie. It was truly a home away from home. D + R Betz & family"

  • A gem of a spot.

"Ballyvaughan is the perfect spot to spend time and see the beauty and culture of County Claire. We loved visiting the Whiskey Bar and meeting the owner, Margaret. The Tea Shop just a block away was superb. The hike with our guide, Shane Connolly, in the Burren was fantastic. We enjoyed the views of the ocean from the house and yard, meeting the charming people in the town and travelling around such gorgeous countryside. The cottage was comfortable. We had everything we needed and much more. Thanks to Richard for his clear and helpful instructions to get to the cottage and for all the tips that were provided."
