  • Gorgeous View!

"The home is located on a hill that gives you truly a spectacular view. 3 of the bedrooms are either on the main floor or upstairs & are very comfortable. I was not a fan of the 2 bedrooms downstairs as the walk to them is "dungeon-like." All the bedrooms do have a/c units & these are a must if you are staying in high humidity months. Unfortunately, the main living area does not have an a/c & it would have been nice to have that comfort in such warm weather. The home was very clean upon arrival but there is some TLC that is needed. The pool has missing tiles that make it look tired & there are cushions with rips in them that need to be replaced. The shower faucets look tired as well, they are clean but look very old. Keep in mind that there is NO jacuzzi - the smaller round structure by the pool is just a smaller pool. The two master bedrooms upstairs have a beautiful shower where one side is open to the spectacular view with beautiful plants for privacy. The only complaint is that these showers have very little pressure so if you are prepared with that mindset & do not expect powerful pressure then you will be fine. (Don't forget to bring your own shampoo/ conditioners/soaps as they do not provide this < which I think they should). Staying 5 days without fresh bath towels in humid weather is not a good idea so I would suggest paying extra for fresh linens daily as the humidity does not allow the towels to dry thoroughly. If you plan to use the pool or go to the beach, bring your own beach towels as the ones they provide are just old, small bath towels < again, I think they should invest in quality beach towels for guests & charge guests if they disappear. The property managers Sara & Heather do a great job communicating & taking care of your questions. The owner, Theresa is also very responsive to questions. I would suggest if you rent a golf cart to ask for the super rugged type with heavier wheels as the dirt road to the home has huge bumps and divots. Also keep in mind that you are in a jungle-like atmosphere, there are all sorts of bugs, insects, geckos & tons of moths. There is a family that lives on the property who take care of the home & I asked the lady if she could spray for bugs as there were so many & it made a huge difference. I think this is something that perhaps should be done without having to ask for it. (There is also a hornets nest on the outside shower by the pool which prevented us from using it)"

  • Lovely place to stay!

"Casa Escondida is a cute, clean, safe, simple little place, perfect for two. The setting is unique with a peekaboo view of the sea and a lovely garden. We enjoyed the daily visits of the iguanas and chachalacas. The pool is great. This was our second visit to Sayulita, both times in the hottest time of the year. Consequently we spent every afternoon in the pool or napping in the air conditioned room. Nice! Things to know about the house: there are limited supplies (i.e., zip bags, foil) so ask or pick some up in town, there are a lot of steps so if you have mobility issues, choose another place, and you're asked to keep the outside lights on to discourage the nighttime bat visits, so if you like to sleep dark, bring a sleep mask. Things to know if you're new to Sayulita: the people are super friendly, there's great food to be found and the prices are really good. This is a town in transition from a small, rustic fishing village to a tourist mecca so be prepared for the dichotomy of that - sewer smells, trash on the beaches and rough terrain right next to shops with high end items for sale and the occasional luxury car cruising through town followed by a local family piled on an ATV. Good stuff! We highly recommend Say Golf Car for your rental. Under $30 and owned by 3 delightful young people. Ask for Ingrid or America. They don't advertise so their prices are much less than the ones you hear about and they deliver and pick up. Fabulous! A few more good things: keep an eye out for the banana bread man selling the bread his mom bakes-so good!, visit the turtle organization on the beach- we experienced an unforgettable sunset baby turtle release one evening, and try the pastor tacos from El Ivan- mouth wateringly delicious! In a nutshell, good stuff all around! If you choose Sayulita and Casa Escondida, a delightful experience awaits you."

  • Casa Verde ....Hostess with the Mostess!

"We so loved our stay at Casa Verde. Location of the house is the northern end which in our opinion is the nicest part especially the beach. It's a bit of a walk into town if it is very hot but if you like to walk it's the perfect length and easy ground. The beach is stunning and swimming so enjoyable. There was nothing unthought about in the house plus a plethora of information, staff and proprietor at hand should you need anything further. If you want to tootle about it's easy to hire a golf cart. The kitchen and main living area of the house is so comfortable with a very handy dipping pool in the main area. The swimming pool is downstairs and I loved swimming and watching the local family of iguanas everyday and the enormous butterflies in the pretty and tranquil garden. Oh we so loved our stay here and hope to come back! Sayulita is such a special place, the town is great with many lovely shops, art, decor and clothing, so many super cafes and restaurants, the food is so fresh everywhere we went and.lovely friendly people! Lots of activities if you are interested, horse riding, boating, SUP, Yoga, hiking etc. Sayu has it all! Carol was awesome with communications and I can't recommend Casa Verde highly enough... hope we can come back some time.. . Thank you so much Carol for sharing your beautiful Casa!"

  • Wow! Ideal location, beautiful property, exceptional hosts.

"This is only time we rented a VRBO where the property and location proved to be more spectacular than the photos on the website. We awoke in our super comfortable beds to the soothing sounds of the jungle and the ocean. The owners are like the local ambassadors of Sayulita and treated us like VIPs; arranging pickup from the airport (they greet you with chilled beverages; beer, water, soda), golf cart rentals, location of the safest ATMs in town, and reservations for any activities we were interested in. There were 4 of us (2 couples) and the bedrooms are situated for total privacy, each with their own bathrooms, with the kitchen/sitting area in between. Joan is obviously a talented interior designer as evidenced by the internal décor perfectly suited to emphasize the Sayulita atmosphere and easy to keep neat and clean. The doors open to the lanai which overlooks the ocean. You are surrounded by lush landscaping and exotic birds. The casitas are very separated from each other for privacy, but you can reach out to the owners easily for any needs. If you are worried about safety for your valuables (which we were not based on our experience), the owners provide safes in the casitas. Free Wi-Fi is also very convenient, and the owners have all sorts of beach toys available. You can walk to town or jungle hikes easily, but I have to say the electric golf cart rental was so fun to zip around in. The property and location were 5 star exceptional, but having the owners insight and assistance made this a 5+ star accommodation."
