  • Magnifique

"Très bel appartement, calme, spacieux, décoration soignée et élégante, vue lagon, proche des commodités. Accueil chaleureux de Mike à notre arrivée à l'aéroport. Nous recommandons cet appartement à tous ceux qui souhaite séjourner à Tahiti, quand à nous , nous le notons précieusement dans notre carnet d'adresse pour un prochain séjour."

  • It was a really nice place to stay.

"Let's start by saying, the place attracted me as it looked nice, but was a really good deal too. So right away I felt good as Tahiti is expensive, but this condo was not. The place is in a great location less than 4 km from the airport and not far from Papeete. A car or scooter rental is suggested though as the area is hilly. The condo itself is bright and spacious with plenty of room for two. I had everything I needed to cook, so that was also easy. Many kitchen appliances also provided. ( microwave, coffee maker, fridge/freezer, stove/oven) Even all the cleaning supplies was there to use. I even had a starter bathroom kit already there for me. Very simple stuff, but already there non the less. The bathroom had a good sized shower with hot water quick and on demand. A washing machine was there, although I couldn't get it to clean very well. Entry into the building is easy and the top floor provides decent views of the area. I will say the bed is super firm, so that can be an issue if you like ultra plush mattresses. The air conditioning was amazing, although the remote didn't easily respond to input. It was a bit annoying. The young lady that met me was friendly and very helpful, not to mention easy to look at. Oh, and there was fast internet too. I would rent again without hesitation and I will try next year when I go back to French Polynesia."

  • Vaima Center Apartment is a gem

"The property is exactly as described. (The electric stove is now a gas stove which works very well. But make sure to turn the gas off when not in use.) The kitchen is well equipped. The apartment is clean and airy. There are covered balconies on both sides of the apartment. There is air conditioning but we didn't use it. With the sliding glass doors opened on both sides of the apartment, the trade winds blew through and kept the apartment cool and airy. The location is fabulous. We are somewhat impaired so we had a car, but people with normal mobility wouldn't need one. All the shops, banks, restaurants and markets are within a few blocks. Champion ( a large French supermarket chain) is located about 6 blocks in the direction of the airport on Ave. General de Gaulle. A marina and tourist office are across the street. The ferry dock to Moorea is a few blocks down the waterfront. There are public busses that cover the island. These could be used to get to public beaches on either side of Papeete. Papeete itself is a lively, bustling town with interesting shopping and good restaurants. People are very friendly. (We speak French, which helps. But most people catering to tourists speak English.) The big Marche (market), about a block away, is a must-see. It has a large selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, and baked goods, as well as tourist trinkets and black pearls. A day trip to Moorea on the ferry is fun. It cost about 130 dollars for us with our car. It would be much less without a car, and there is supposed to be public transportation on Moorea. The excursion catamaran to Tetiaroa, "Marlon Brando's island," is right across the street from Vaima Center. Mr. Michel Tisse was extremely helpful with any questions we had. He arranged for us to pay for parking in the covered garage under Vaima Center. It cost 10 or 11 dollars a day, but was wonderfully convenient. His office is just a few doors down the street. We were at the apartment during New Years and he and his wife invited us to their large family New Year's celebration. They were wonderful hosts-- we felt very welcomed. We would stay here again. We certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Papeete. The restaurant bar "Retro" at street level in this building is a great place to meet local people as well as visitors from other parts of the world."
