  • Great location, everything you need with an awesome view. Home away from home :)

"Arielle was really easy to contact and communicate with, she is also very accommodating. We arrived almost midnight and she was there and showed us around and went over the apartment. Gated complex. A bit up in the hills, but view was killer. Apartment was great, everything you need is there, full kitchen with cooking items, some spices to start, wifi, tv, washing machine. The view from both rooms were great, was my favorite part of the place. Mornings were pretty warm but we kept both rooms sliding doors open to let in fresh air. Patio mornings were perfect, the place is quiet and peaceful. You really need a car to get around, but the Conservatoire is just down the street as well as small grocery and gas. Quick drive to the new Faaa Carrefour, airport and marche. Will be planning to stay here again on our next trip. By the way, get the correct address before coming because we were held up at customs because I didn't have the right address. I believe the complex name is Residence Horizons. Thanks Arielle!"

  • Amazing bathroom, great loft- mix of modern and island elements.

"Had a great stay at this little gem. Great location, super close to the airport, but its tucked into the hills so you feel like you are in a tropical retreat. The shower and bathroom space can not be found elsewhere-partially open, it's designed such that you feel like you are outside but are totally protected. There is a Zen like peacefulness throughout the home, it is tastefully appointed and kitchen seemed well stocked for the self caterers. There are stairs to get to kitchen, but one bedroom and bathroom on main floor. Gated driveway. Wi-Fi. Property owner was so easy to work with, very responsive from booking throughout our stay. Payment process was convenient from US. We will stay here again when we come back."

  • Tahiti treat

"This was the first time to the Polynesia and quite likely our last. These reviews can be tough because you have to remember to stick within the confines of things controllable by our landlady. Let's start with her and we'll get back to Tahiti in a bit. Laurence was fantastic, giving us rides when needed, renting us vehicles when necessary, and on our final two days with her, we had the run of bothe proprties. This was important as one had access to a so asking cool tub, while the other had a much larger living space and was brighter and more liveable. The second one also ready access to the beach and kayaks. Neither hut had AC which having never been to Tahiti is an absolute necessity. The artist hut's pool made up for that in a large way. I can't imagine life without it to be frank. Location was everything as we cook most of our meals. The market was quite literally right across the street. Other amenities were not so close or non existent. We are still scratching our heads wondering where these beautiful white sandy beaches are. The only beaches we found, and we tried, believe me, were covered in dead coral and shells. In fairnesss, our visit came one week after a 60 yr flood that I suspect had something to do with the inordinate amount of driftwood and fallen palms. To the people's credit it was more or less cleaned up the day after our arrival. Back to the beaches though. If you're a snorkelor there is plenty of life just off shore. I don't know any names but live coral in a rainbow of colours, and the same to be said for the fish. We had one minor problem with a toilet seat hinge breaking but once it was brought to their attention, it was quickly dealt with. Our privacy was respected, and the location of our hut made it impossible to disrespect. Laurence was raised on the island and is comfortable sharing her family and stories from her past if you can catch up to her on her 5 pm daily walking of the dogs down the beach. Different rules for different worlds though. People don't pick up after their dogs which takes away from the ambiance of a sunset walk along the beach. The language (it's French #1, Tahition coming in a surprisingly close 2nd, and English a distant third)the people were all very sweet and looking to please the out of towners. It's cheaper to rent a car and circle the island for local and historical landmarks that are all free for the asking. Papeete is a quaint homey city that's big flaw is distances it's distance from Canada"
