  • A Must Do!

"The Beach House is fabulous! My sisters and I and our kids had a wonderful week at the Beach House. It is charming, comfortable and super cozy. The house is decorated and complete with all the touches of home -- pillows, blankets, soft sheets, towels, beach chairs, bikes and the kitchen has every item you will need to cook and entertain. We loved the spacious 2 levels, and the 2 balconies for the incredible sunsets and the late night stars and moon. The Sugar Shack is adorable and functions as an extra space for kids complete with an outdoor shower. We loved the garden backyard with the large bbq, fire pit and table and chairs. The neighborhood is peaceful and a short walk to the beach or town which is quaint and low key. Biking to the beach was fun and swimming in Carp is great no matter what age you are. I even made it to the float! In town we enjoyed The Palms for dinner, Islands for a local beer and of course don't miss The Spot for a burger and fries. Ruta, was very accommodating and treated us like family. She's the best! Overall it was a 10 vacation and we can't wait to book another stay soon again!"

  • Perfect Thanksgiving retreat for our extended family of 10

"Our family klan just returned from four very relaxing days spent at Casa Das Palmas and we are already hoping to return someday. As a previous reviewer noted, the place is even lovelier in person than in the photos; everything is tastefully decorated with treasures from Bali, the Indian subcontinent, the Mediterranean coast, and Meso-America (n.b., I should add that I was especially impressed with the "smaller" scale decorator touches as well, e.g., real wood doors, beautiful tiling in the Jack 'n Jill bathroom, fragrant flowers). Our 5 kids (ages 4-10) played football and soccer on the great expansive lawn, shot hoops on the basketball court, played tennis (even at night, on the lighted court), had ample places indoors and outdoors to hide (when playing hide-and-seek), and frolicked in the pool and jacuzzi to cool off. The adults enjoyed reading and lounging on their many luxurious and comfortable daybeds (indoor and outdoor), prepped our Thanksgiving feast in their gourmet kitchen, and jogged daily to the nearby beach and back. We loved how we could sit 11 people around their kitchen table and could make s'mores together in their cozy indoor fireplace (n.b., they also had two outdoor fireplaces that we might have used if warmer in the evenings). Everything was perfect and the icing on the cake was the wonderful hospitality of the owners - Vivi was a delight to work with (when corresponding about the rental agreement) and Chris (their property manager) was so gracious in welcoming us on our first day and providing a mini-tour of the house, hand-delivering a copy of the New York Times the following day when my father noted that his copy of the Los Angeles Times hadn't arrived, and returning on our final day to bid us adieu. If our travel plans allow for it, we will return!"

  • Really felt like a vacation

"Three friends and I fit very comfortably in Sharon's well-kept, secluded cottage. The cute, quaint home is a short drive to the beach, shopping, and groceries, and then we were able to come back and spend the late afternoon in the hot tub while barbecuing before heading out for a night on the town. Everything that we needed/forgot was provided - towels, pots/pans, grilling tools, etc. We also bumped into Sharon, who lives right next door, and she was very accommodating and asked if we needed anything further. We didn't! Would definitely recommend. Also, there was a handy binder for miscellaneous information/questions about the place. Thanks, Sharon!"
