  • Wonderful home !

"What a wonderful surprise this lovely home was for a desert getaway. From the moment you walk in the door the place feels like home. Every detail in the decorating makes you smile. And besides being visually pleasing, the furnishing are super comfortable. The couches and lounge chairs are perfect for curling up with book or taking in the scenery. As for the amenities, 'well appointed' seems like an understatement, as Rob has seems to have thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay. The location is also idea. We walked around the neighborhood every night, taking in the crisp desert air, and beautiful night sky. A drive to nearby Fonts Point to watch the sunset and full moon rise was especially memorable. All around it was a great stay. We would definitely recommend this home, and hope to return again soon."

  • Wonderful Way to Enjoy the Desert

"We have camped in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park for years and found staying here was a very good alternative to it. We enjoyed the serenity of the desert with the conveniences of home. The location of this property allowed us to be close to the bird and animal life of the desert just as camping did but also allowed for an enjoyable home-like lifestyle as well. Minutes from the center of Borrego Springs and from the State Park, we enjoyed the best of both worlds."

  • Great location, value

"We've loved weekend visits to Borrego over the years and finally decided to spend a week there and see if you could really "unwind" and get away from it all. That you can--this town puts you at peace and allows you to really feel connected to the environment around you and tune out the noise in your mind from back home. It's hard to imagine your only a couple of hours away from the coast--it feels like an entirely different planet. There was a negative review from a person who was surprised that there wasn't much going on in Borrego--this is not the fault of this house--it's the nature of the place it's situated in. And for us, it was perfect. This house is well situated on a beautiful lot in one of Borrego's finest communities, De Anza Country Club. The pool is truly gigantic though the cover does a good job of keeping it warm (assuming you are not there in the winter). Our favorite part of the trip was just lounging outside by the pool. The house is charming, bright and pleasant. But I have to take off a star because everything is not in terribly good repair. The couches are worn out, the outside patio furniture cushions need to replaced (filthy), everything is extremely old. And no I don't mean in a cool, mid-century kind of way. Just sort of 80s old. All that being said, the home is priced commensurate with its condition and you don't really mind the old furniture after a couple of days. The owner is extremely attentive, friendly, and very helpful--we will likely return."

  • Our go-to getaway spot!

"This review is a long time coming, as my hubby and I have stayed at this casita enough times that by now we've lost count, and can only estimate it at "several!" But suffice to say that we keep coming back, because it's a great place to stay. We have seen Rams Hill through its period of decline, with its shuttered clubhouse and eerie, neglected golf course, and have been relieved to see its resurrection. Through it all, Kevin's casita has been the perfect "home base" for our Borrego getaways, always clean, comfortable and quiet. We usually bring our own food and cook our own meals. One time, I asked and Kevin provided us with a crockpot, and I was able to have our dinner happily crocking away as we spent the whole day out exploring the desert. We don't golf, but we have availed ourselves of the swimming pool a time or two, and we always enjoy walking around the entire development complex. There's also a big basket on the fireplace hearth filled with information on everything from local restaurants and attractions to the best places to hike, etc. At this time, things are changing in our lives, and I don't know when we will return, but I hope we do, and I think we will!"
