  • Fabulous location, house comfy but needs updating

"Rams Hill is a fabulous location. The booking process was easy and straightforward. The arrival service and attention from the concierge throughout our stay was excellent. The house itself - while extremely well located, comfortable, good layout with each bedroom en-suite, nice pool, hot tub and good views - does need updating to be truly "stunning". It's an older property nicely maintained, but things like the TV wall-mounted in the master bedroom closet (if you want to watch TV you have to slide open the closet doors), ancient window blinds with some broken, living room carpet needing a good deep clean, the leather sofas showing their age, a slightly amateur TV and hifi installation in the living room, do let it down. Also the pictures on the web site were taken with a very wide angle lens, so the impression is of more space than there actually is. Parking is limited to two vehicles only, Rams Hill community rules do not allow overnight parking outside, and the extra space in the garage is taken up by a golf cart. Having said all of that, the important thing is the location close to the lovely Borrego Springs, retro restaurant gems like Kendalls cafe, the Alladins cave of Borrego Outfitters, and - of course - the incomparable and unforgettable Anza-Borrego Desert State Park."

  • Desert Rose Casita is a Hidden Gem

"Beautiful, new, immaculate 800 sf cottage w pool and hot tub. Great view. Comfortable bed and couch. Private, quiet location. Within 2 miles of Anza Borrego State Park Visitors Center. Owners live next door but totally respect privacy of guests."
