  • Perfect Desert Retreat for One or Two

"This casita has all the modern amenities and a great location just minutes from the downtown area. It makes a great base for exploring all that the Anza-Borrego State Park area has to offer. I was also able to swim daily at a nearby resort for a very reasonable fee. As previous reviewers have stated, all the house's facilities are excellent - very comfortable bed, good shower, good wifi. The supplies - cleaning products, paper towels & toilet paper, etc were more than enough to last me my 5 weeks stay. The only downside was a driveway that is a bit difficult to negotiate when the second house on the property is also occupied (easily solved by just parking at the roadside) . The owners are not nearby, but respond quickly to email or phone call."

  • Had a great time stargazing

"Fiancée wanted to stargaze and I found Borrego Springs was one of the best places to do so. I looked on VRBO for a dog friendly location and came across this property. My dogs loved the space to roam around, they always wanted to be outside. At night, there was nothing but stars. It was great. Property was nice and comfortable. You have a BBQ outside, though i did not use it. All in all I would stay there again."

  • Our go-to getaway spot!

"This review is a long time coming, as my hubby and I have stayed at this casita enough times that by now we've lost count, and can only estimate it at "several!" But suffice to say that we keep coming back, because it's a great place to stay. We have seen Rams Hill through its period of decline, with its shuttered clubhouse and eerie, neglected golf course, and have been relieved to see its resurrection. Through it all, Kevin's casita has been the perfect "home base" for our Borrego getaways, always clean, comfortable and quiet. We usually bring our own food and cook our own meals. One time, I asked and Kevin provided us with a crockpot, and I was able to have our dinner happily crocking away as we spent the whole day out exploring the desert. We don't golf, but we have availed ourselves of the swimming pool a time or two, and we always enjoy walking around the entire development complex. There's also a big basket on the fireplace hearth filled with information on everything from local restaurants and attractions to the best places to hike, etc. At this time, things are changing in our lives, and I don't know when we will return, but I hope we do, and I think we will!"

  • The casita was a very comfortable and quiet oasis.

"The wife and I wanted a nice place to stay while watching the Perseid meteor shower. We actually saw more shooting stars from the comfort of Judy's casita-second-story balcony then from the golf course nearby. During the day we napped on the comfortable beds and made meals in the functional but beautiful kitchen. The WiFi did not buffer as we watched movies on the couch from the coffee table that pulls up to just the right height. Once the sun started to set, we used the pool which was like a bath tub--very inviting from the summer heat. We explored the area with our dogs and saw a coyote that lives nearby--scrawny little fella. Judy (the owner) was very helpful by responding quickly to questions. So, Would I stay here again? Yes, in fact, we might buy a vacation home in the area as a result of our experience. Try the place, you won't be disappointed."
