Recent Malibu reviews

  • We loved it!

"Renting through VRBO, you just hope the place matches the photos and reviews and this place did, perfectly. Lovely house and Steve, Amber and Rosa treated us well. We liked everything, but especially the master bedroom and the roof lounge area. Only negative is it is 18 miles north of the Malibu Pier, which itself is not an issue, but it seems like north Malibu is windier than south Malibu. In any case, we got a lot of wind last week. Also, on Friday, two neighbor kids spent most of the day riding a motorcycle on the beach in front of the house. I would have called the cops on them [I am sure this is illegal], but we were leaving the next day. I did track down their father 6 or 7 houses up the beach and chewed him out, but he was only moderately apologetic so I wouldn't trust that he wouldn't do this again. This would really bother me if they were doing it every day, because it is noisy and it really chews up the beach and you wouldn't want young kids competing with a motorcycle [we had a 3-year old with us]. There is a lot of sand on the beaches this year, but in a low-sand year, there could be rocks here; there were rocks immediately south of the house. In any case, we had a very pleasant week here."

  • Beautiful house with a stunning view!

"We highly recommend this property. The unit is very private and quiet, and is situated right on the cliff overlooking Zuma beach. The location is ideal, and you can walk to the Point Dume reserve and Zuma beach from the house. Everything is very well kept up, and Nicholas couldn't have been nicer. I would not hesitate to stay here again!"

  • Sights, Sounds and Ocean Breeze Spectacular

"If your expectations require absolute luxury, this is not the place....go stay in an expensive 5-star hotel. IF, however, you want clean and comfortable, right on the beach, with EVERYTHING you need to homestead for a week, then this rental is ideal for up to 4. You can even pack lighter because of the convenience of in house washers and dryers (2 of each). Spectacular ocean views, dolphin pods, seals (even a friendly, resident seagull), fresh seaside air, plenty of sunshine and inspiring sunsets....Walls of Glass on the Sand has it ALL. And, owner Don is exceptionally friendly, supportive and informative. Beginning with your initial reservation his communications are thorough and he even provides an "arrival" packet for each guest. PLUS, he returns the security deposit promptly. Only the Pacific Coast Highway traffic and some needed, minor cosmetic maintenance prevent this from being absolutely "perfect." We highly recommend a stay and hope to return sometime soon ourselves."

  • Cute, Quaint, and Peaceful

"This cabin is adorable and all of the personal touches make it feel like home. We arrived for 2 nights on a chilly February day with rain and it worked out just fine. The cabin was so peaceful that it made a rainy day a perfect place to cozy up next to the fire and read a book. The rain cleared the next day and we went for a 3 mile hike around the property into the hills. It is perfect because you can leave right from the front door. The views were amazing. There is a binder in the cabin with suggestions on things to do and local places to check-out. Lots to see and do! The drive to and from the cabin is beautiful on a clear day. Definitely a windy drive and takes about 15-20 minutes to get to anything but it's part of the experience. If you plan your day to include the drive it's not a big deal at all. Gabrielle is very friendly and a great host. She left fresh eggs, wine, English muffins, and jam. We used the grill one night. Everything in the cabin as been recently updated. The hot tub has views out over the mountains and the ocean. You are pretty far up so it's an expansive view but it's worth it. We really enjoyed our stay."
