  • Wedding

"My daughter, who lives in California, wanted us (from back east) to have a California/Malibu expierence for her wedding. This house provided that perfect setting. Access to the beach, lawn chairs, surfing and kayaks added to this house. My mom, who does not like the sand of the beach, could also be a part of the beach action by just sitting on the deck. Low tide we could walk the beach for about a mile. Everything needed seemed to be within decent driving distance. Santa Monica Pier was only about 20 – 30 minutes away. Restaurants (Neptune’s Net from Fast and Furious, Spruzzo’s Italian and Twisted Oak Tavern) are very accessible. Walking in nearby Solstice Canyon was a bonus. A lot of other features that helped with the stay. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to get away and/or loves the beach and ocean."

  • Perfect Weekend Getaway

"My wife and I spent the weekend of our 10th anniversary here and it was amazing. The house is perfect - bright, warm, and steps from one of the most beautiful beaches Southern CA has to offer. Jennika was an amazing host and made sure that we were well taken care of. The big city grind melted away as we enjoyed this wonderful beach house. We can't wait to go back!"

  • Hear the ocean

"Definitely a great pick for a silent getaway. Location: the area is priceless! It has a special warming feeling to walk on the private beaches. The ocean is all yours. I'm addicted, so I was listening the ocean even while sleeping. If you need silence in the night, closing the windows will solve it all. The interior is unbeatable. Quality furnitures, appliances all around. I LOVED IT! The owners are really nice people. No overstatement. Also, I forgot my tripod, they sent it to my address by post. Really appreciated, thank You!"

  • Great location and views--Responsive owner

"My family of four (kids age 9 and 11) had a great time staying at this house on Valmere, just off of Corral Canyon Road. The owner, Kate, greeted us, gave us the tour and ground rules, and provided a plethora of ideas for our week-long stay. The house is well appointed for 4-6 people and best suited for cooking in the kitchen or on the spacious deck/outdoor veranda. Also, the location is perfect for going to the beach, Malibu's restaurants, Santa Monica, etc. We trekked into LA for some tourist activities and had no real issues with traffic, travel, etc. Overall, a fantastic location. As for the owner, she was very responsive to a couple of small issues that we presented. I was satisfied with her response and follow up. She also refunded my security deposit in a very timely fashion. Observations: the area has no cell service for AT&T. Also, the wifi is available in only one side (by the library) of the house. It's not a big deal when on vacation, but worth mention. Also, the house has no A/C. I'm guessing that 99% of the time this isn't an issue in the Malibu hills; however, the temps reached 95+ degrees the last two days of our trip. This heat, combined with the large picture window in the master-which has no window treatments-made for a toasty last couple of days. Again, this probably isn't usually an issue in Malibu, but we encountered 'Texas' heat in Malibu and it caught us off guard. Overall, a fantastic trip for my family and I'd recommend Villa Valmere without hesitation. Thanks Kate for sharing your wonderful home."
