  • Very cute cottage, but needs some updating

"Great location and amenities. The decor is very nice, the beds very comfy, and the kitchen is more than stocked with anything you could possibly need. There is a little street noise during the day - especially if you're hanging out on the patio - but I never noticed it otherwise. The location is good - about a 5 minute walk to shops/restaurants and a 10-15 minute walk to the water. The neighborhood is very cute and quiet. Parking can be somewhat difficult during the day, but usually we found a spot easily at night. Anna was very friendly and easy to deal with as well. The one negative thing I have to say though is that the flooring in the cottage is in dire need of updating. It's some sort of sisal rug throughout and it's shredded and stained just about everywhere - which I'm guessing is also the source of the smell in the house. I wasn't comfortable walking barefoot on it for sure and my socks were blackened by the end of the day. It's not a deal breaker, but kind of a turn off."

  • You won't be disappointed .....

"This home is very, very comfortable and easy to be in with a large kitchen area, great room with adjacent dining and of course, the views and the ocean breeze. The master bedroom suite on the second floor opens to its own deck with, again, even better views. We never closed those doors during the entire time we were there. The home was very clean and well kept. The location is perfect as well. One block to the beach and 6-8 blocks to the center of the Village itself. John is awesome to work with and very accommodating. We highly recommend this home."

  • GORGEOUS! GORGEOUS! Seriously, GORGEOUS!

"The pictures and description of this property cannot capture the beauty of this cottage--must be seen! Perfectly maintained and pristine in every detail, you will not want to leave. The owner, Bruce Craig, can set the standard for a great host, responsive even when away in Spain. If you like to cook, you will go crazy for the gourmet kitchen--equipped so that two chefs could work at the professional stove. The garden is just as pictured and the house is surrounded by flowering bushes and plants. When I was there, the jasmine bower was in full bloom and the scent was enchanting. One note of caution: La Jolla is going crazy with construction. It is supposed to be banned once the high summer season begins but I was told sometimes it continues. Just ask. Have a fabulous stay and say hello to Bruce!"

  • Beautiful House - Perfect for Family Vacation

"We host a family vacation every two years and try to pick a location that can be enjoyed by everyone. This home was the perfect spot. The house was great for a family of 8. The bathrooms and kitchen were updated as was the decor. It was equipped with everything we could possibly need, including beach towels and beach toys for all ages. The views are incredible. We loved sitting on the deck in the evening while enjoying a glass of wine. Our 10 year old grandson especially enjoyed the air hockey and pinball machines in the downstairs rec room. Even though the house is on a hill you are still able to walk to the village. We would definitely recommend this house to family and friends. We were very impressed with the owner, Kimi, and all the help she gave us prior to our arrival."
