  • Very cute cottage, but needs some updating

"Great location and amenities. The decor is very nice, the beds very comfy, and the kitchen is more than stocked with anything you could possibly need. There is a little street noise during the day - especially if you're hanging out on the patio - but I never noticed it otherwise. The location is good - about a 5 minute walk to shops/restaurants and a 10-15 minute walk to the water. The neighborhood is very cute and quiet. Parking can be somewhat difficult during the day, but usually we found a spot easily at night. Anna was very friendly and easy to deal with as well. The one negative thing I have to say though is that the flooring in the cottage is in dire need of updating. It's some sort of sisal rug throughout and it's shredded and stained just about everywhere - which I'm guessing is also the source of the smell in the house. I wasn't comfortable walking barefoot on it for sure and my socks were blackened by the end of the day. It's not a deal breaker, but kind of a turn off."

  • Great location, and beautiful views

"My family stayed for 5 days in this condo, and it was great. Very well equipped with beach supplies, all the kitchen supplies you could need, and a grill as well. I would say that the elavator door was a concern for us. If you stay with small children make sure they don't get in the way of this door, or they will likely get squished. It did not have a very sensitive sensor, and it almost closed on me, and I was standing right in front of it. We had a problem with the master bedroom door locking us out for a couple of hours, and nobody had a key to it. I would suggest that gets fixed asap. I would also like to mention that the management is very particular about sand in the unit, but does not have any outdoor shower. Overall, I would say we would stay here again."

  • Lovely

"We were very pleased when we walked into the apartment. Views of the ocean, a well decorated apartment with a most comfortable bed. Plenty of equipment in the kitchen if one wanted to cook. Von's is very close for whatever we need. As is CVS. After 5 days, the apartment continues to be a perfect spot for us. We love sitting outside in the evening and in the morning. The first day we walked to the Concour d'Elegance at Squibb park to look at the wonderful collection of antique, very special cars and in the evening walked back along the water. We have enjoyed the fish restaurant across the street, The Thai Restaurant and wanted you to know we went to your suggestion, Bernini's last night. What a sweet restaurant. Comfortable with delicious food. Coffee places are near and have great California fresh, easy food for lunch. We spent a day and a half in Balboa park and saw not even half the museums. An amazing place even if one doesn't want to go to a museum or the zoo. So easy to get to we could even do it again. The Contemporary Art Museum is only about 5 blocks. And just a bit further are many wonderful shops. The best is to come home have a glass of wine or put our feet up with a cup of coffee and listen to the ocean. For us, a lovely place with a great location. Just wanted you to know how much we appreciated your place before the rush to leave set in."

  • Vacation Oasis

"We loved it! We travelled with our 23 and 17 year-old daughters and this was the perfect location. A short walk to beach and town, tons at great dining options and a great shopping area...what more do you need? How about a comfortable, well-equipt house and friendly, helpful hosts? Diane and Bill's haus has everything you will need for your vacation. We loved to sit on the tranquil patio, under stars and twinkle lights. Very clean, outdoor shower was key, as was the garage since parking is tough to find in the area. So many great restaurants. Dukes for a special night, Whiskynladle for happy hour and the Taco Bar and Poke for great take out (call to order). Von's was well-stocked for groceries, and our girls were able to join Women's Elite Yoga for the week for $25. So close to San Diego, Pacific Beach, Torry Pines...tons to do."
