  • Delightful stay in South Mission Beach

"This home is in a great location, steps from both the bay and beach/boardwalk. On a quiet night, we were pleasantly surprised by the calming sound of the nearby ocean. It is very clean, the kitchen is well stocked, and the patio is comfortable for dining and relaxing. We loved having quiet evenings by the gas fire-pit. There is plenty of room; the washer, dryer, and two parking spaces are a definite plus. The owner is very accessible, responsive, and a pleasure to deal with. The flowers and fruit were a nice touch. We will absolutely be back!"

  • 5 minute walk from door to ocean

"We stayed Dec 26-Jan 1 including 3 adults and 3 kids (7, 5, 2). What we liked: laundry facility, 2 queen sized beds in separate rooms, fully stocked kitchen, closeness to the ocean & boardwalk, boogie boards in garage and a couple sand toys, 10 minute drive to Sea World, 15-20 minute drive to the zoo, easy freeway access. What we didn't like: the garage couldn't fit our rental van so we had to park it about 100 yards away by Belmont park. During the off season that is fine but that would be a mess to find parking to fit your vehicle in the summer. (If the owner reads this maybe they could put locks on their cupboards inside so one would feel comfortable still parking overnight and leaving the garage door up.) It was cold (40's at night) and there were only a couple extra blankets. We had to crank the heat up which was loud and rattled so much that we couldn't have it on at night because it would wake us and the kids up even with closed doors. No access to a pack N play. We made a makeshift bed out of one of the spare blankets on the floor. The hide a bed was slanted and dipped in the middle. The 7 & 5 year olds slept on it so it was sufficient, but I would have had trouble being comfortable. When turned into a couch it had the same problem. Dipped in the middle. Honestly for the price we were fine with those minor inconveniences during the off season. Fantastic location and really easy to work with the owners!"

  • Great Location.... Great Flat.... Scary Parking

"Our family of 6 rented this unit for the week after christmas. The unit is in a great location in Mission Beach, right on Mission Bay and a couple of blocks from the Ocean. The unit has a lot of stairs which was fine for us but may be an issue for others. On the second level there is one bedroom (only 1/2 bath), a kitchen, and living space. There is satellite TV and wireless internet that worked well during our stay. The kitchen has nice high end appliances and had all of the items we needed for our stay. On the third level there is two bedrooms each with their own bathroom and a stacked laundry unit. The master bedroom is exceptional. On the top level there is a rooftop deck that has a grill/seating. I really enjoyed this space in the morning. Mission Beach is ideally located to go anywhere in the area. It was 10 minutes to downtown, 10 minutes to La Jolla, 10 minutes to the airport. My favorite part of every day was walking a few blocks to Better Buzz Coffee and then taking a walk along to the ocean to the pier at Pacific Beach. There is a boardwalk and you can see surfers. For a Michigander it is a great walk. The only thing that we did not like about the unit was the parking. We were in a Nissan Pathfinder, and the parking is below ground. It was an adventure for us everytime we went in and out of the unit. If you are not comfortable driving in tight spaces and are bringing a large vehicle beware."

  • Very good

"It was very nice and clean and close to what we wanted to do and see. 4 people and we were comfortable even though it was rainy and dreary for 2 of the days and we were inside quite a bit."
