  • Perfect place for a family beach vacation!

"We could not have been more pleased with this property for our family vacation! The house was spotless, decorated and furnished beautifully, and stocked with everything we would need and more! After a long car journey, it was such a treat for our kids (age 9 and 4) to arrive and hop right in the hot tub. The patio area was so peaceful and private. We ate dinner out there every night. We loved being walking distance to the beach. I especially loved going for early morning walks on the beach, and ending our day there to see the sunset. We were also really pleased that the garage was stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas, surf board etc! There are grocery stores nearby, and we really loved having the option to eat/cook at the house. The kitchen had everything we needed for our cooking needs. Overall, the location of this house and the property itself was just what our family needed, and we would HAPPILY come back again!"

  • Light, bright and great managing realtor

"We cannot say enough good things about this place and the overall experience. Because it's a corner unit, it's infused with light (which is exactly what we want when we flee the northern climate for the month of January). Large, full windows offer bright views of a very happening corner. A community courtyard offers grills and sitting space with tables, benches and nice plantings. On the few days when it did rain during our stay, we were able to use the indoor workout room. On all other days, we put on our fitbits and walked everywhere : restaurants, the grocery store, the harbor, the USS Midway, Seaside Village, Little Italy farmer's market--and to Balboa Park and the zoo (long, but doable walk). With the trolley a block away, we could venture even farther away. Not only were we happy with the unit, but Brandon is, by far, one of the most pleasant, responsive realtors we've ever had the pleasure of doing business with (and we've been using vacation rentals for nearly 10 years)--with great success. The next time we rent in SoCal, we certainly hope to work with Brandon."

  • Great La Jolla Shores Beach House

"We've stayed in La Jollla and LJShores many times before but this house has become our favorite. It is beautiful and livable inside with a great kitchen and back deck, and a very short walk to the beach. For those with kids of any age the ability to walk to the great restaurants and activities, and the world class beach itself, is worth a great deal. Our host was easy to work with and an experienced surfer himself. The house itself is a bit small, but if you are spending most of your time outside it is of no matter. We plan on coming back next year, and surfing with the great folks at Surf Diva again. Our family of five were super happy renters."

  • Southern California Beach Paradise

"Our family of four (twin teen boys & Mom & Dad) had an awesome time in the Wyndham Oceanside Pier Resort. We had a great 2BR suite on the 6th floor with a northern view that included the beach. The resort is very close to the beach (right across the street) and the beach is gorgeous - no sea wrack, very wide, clean sand. The resort is right beside the long fishing pier (poles for rent and bait for sale on the pier!) and on either side of the pier the waves are perfect for surfing (our sons got their first surfing lessons). The suite was very spacious, with a large living room, a great booth and chair type eating area, two great bedrooms & bathrooms, a well appointed kitchen, and a balcony. The washer and dryer were very heavily used during our two week stay and allowed us to pack less! We typically cooked breakfast in the suite and headed out to the beach or other activities - if we went to the beach we usually prepared lunch in the suite and then went out for dinner - this really reduced food costs. There are lots of great eating choices within walking distance - Petite Madeline, Hello Betty, ZigZag Pizza and 333 were all very close and are recommended - and about a 15-20 minute walk north along the beach there is also a cluster of restaurants - Oceanside Broiler had great food and a nice view of the small boat harbor, Joe's Crab Shack had great inexpensive family seafood (warning - if you elect to buy a picture pay CASH). The resort itself is clean, modern and has a very friendly staff - there are activities daily - examples include a $5 breakfast, afternoon ice cream sundae parties, evening Italian dinner, and mosaic making - a nice way to meet others. There is a pool - not huge but fine for kids - and a great deck area to relax after visiting the beach (there are showers in the 2nd floor restroom to wash off the sand). A really nice feature is that there are two suites reserved for general use on the 7th floor facing the ocean - was a great spot to sit with a bottle of wine and watch the sunset. The fact that this is a Wyndham property instead of a house rental really takes a lot of the uncertainty away from booking a VRBO - you can confirm your reservation with the resort, you are dealing with a major corporation, and any issues are just a phone call away and usually resolved within the hour. Nearby there are lots of recreation opportunities - just south on I-5 there is a great watersports area called Carlsbad Lagoon (jet ski's = fun). Enjoy!"
